Abstract:This paper discusses the core ideas, development course and influence of Chinese religious philosophy and its influence on modern society. The paper first summarizes the important position of religious philosophy in Eastern and Western cultures, and then makes a detailed analysis of the core elements of Chinese religious philosophy and American religious philosophy respectively. In the part of Chinese religious philosophy, this article discusses the ideological system and ethical concepts of major sects such as Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, and analyzes the influence of these philosophical thoughts in Chinese history and social politics. In the section of American religious philosophy, the article introduces the teachings and practice of major denominations such as Christianity and Catholicism, and explores their role in American social politics and culture. Through their comparative analysis, this paper reveals the similarities and differences between Chinese religious philosophy and American religious philosophy in terms of ideological system, values and practice methods. Chinese religious philosophy emphasizes the harmony of man and nature, personal morality and social responsibility, while American religious philosophy pays more attention to the doctrines of personal freedom of belief and redemption, and the direct connection between individual and God. These similarities and differences not only reflect the deep differences between Eastern and Western cultures, but also provide an important perspective for understanding the values and behavior patterns of the two societies. Finally, this paper summarizes the roles and challenges of religious philosophy in modern society, such as promoting cultural exchanges and promoting social harmony. At the same time, the paper also discusses the possibility of the dialogue and integration of Eastern and Western religious philosophies, and puts forward the importance of promoting the exchange and mutual learning of different religious philosophies in the context of globalization. Through dialogue and integration, eastern and Western religious philosophies can learn from each other and develop together, and contribute wisdom and strength to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
