Abstract:As to names of the stone animals on the spirit road of Southern Dynasties’ tombs, scholars have different opinions. With literal and archaeological materials, this paper presented the views that the stone animal with one horn should be called Tianlu, with two horns should be called Pixie and which without any horn should be called winged lion.

Abstract:Analysis and study through quadrat survey on characters of forest community in Gutianshan Nature Reserve of Zhejiang province showed that the forest is dominated by evergreen trees like Fagaceae, Cinnamomum Trew, Camellia L., Ericaceae and Rosaceae with characters such as leaves simple, leathery, small and medium, etc. The vertical structure was complicated with tree, shrub and herb and some interlayer plants.

Abstract:There are some mistranslations and losses in the published version of the bamboo slips manuscript of the Zhouyi unearthed from the Han tomb at Fuyang,Anhui Province. This paper gives out some amendments,further translates some characters,and discriminates some remanent characters,which are referential to the studies of this version of the Zhouyi. In addition,the paper also points out some problems in the copy of the original manuscript.

Abstract:The inscriptions on the stone blocks used as the building materials of the Beizhuang Han Tomb in Dingzhou City,Hebei contained very rich place name information,which provided important clues for the researches on the styles of the tombs of the feudatory lords in the Hebei area during the Han Dynasty and the changes of the territory of the Zhongshan Kingdom in the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties.By the trimming and classifying of the place names in the stone inscriptions,this paper pointed out that the style of the Beizhuang Han Tomb had relationships with that of the feudatory lord tombs of the Han Dynasty at the border between Shandong and Henan Provinces,and the county names under the administration of Zhongshan Kingdom seen in the stone inscriptions of the Beizhuang Han Tomb could be used to restore the territory of Zhongshan Kingdom in the early Eastern Han Dynasty.By comparing with the county names under the administration of Zhongshan Kingdom seen in the historic literatures,the outline of the changes of the territory of Zhongshan Kingdom in the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties could be drawn out.

Abstract:Fan Wu Liu Xing,recorded in The Chu Bamboo Slips of Warring States Collected by Shanghai Museum(Vol.Ⅶ),is an important newly excavated literature which has a unique theme with thought of Taoism and Legalism."Ju" of "Yin Yang Zhi Ju" should pronounce "Chu" and explained as the place of position;The character interpreted as "Ci" by original researcher is actually "Zhou" and pronounced "Shou"."Shou Yi" can be contrasted with some statements in "Shi Da Jing" of Ma Wang Dui Silk Books and other ancient literatures.

Abstract:There are a great many interpretation errors in The Research of the White Stone Statue in Qu Yang, in essence because of misunderstanding of the characters with similar forms, not understanding the combined graphs, not knowing variant characters and cultural words and so on.It is suggested that combined with historical documents and rubbings of excerption, errors can be corrected, the cause can be pointed out and the spreading of errors can be avoided so that the precious documentary materials can be utilized more scientifically.

Abstract:Based on textual interpretations of the character fu [■] from a recently published animal bone inscription,the author believes that"■"is the original form of ju [距] and the bone should be an ox talus.The author then rereads the inscription.This paper makes further textual interpretation of an inscription from another ox talus excavated at Yinxu in 1936 and makes a comparison.By referring to the galaha game prevalent in north China(especially in northeast China) and Tibetan areas as well as excavated game tools made in various materials,this paper concludes that these afore mentioned Shang dynasty ox tali were probably used as gambling or game tools.

Abstract:In 1978 stone inscription was discovered in ancient tombs of the Songshan Mountain in Jianxiang,Shandong.In the middle is the pattern;on the right side there are 10 lines of words,and on the left side one line of words.Archeologists believe that the tomb is between the end of East Han and West Jin.The portrait-stone was removed later and used by someone else,so the surface of the stone inscription is covered with lime and the words are not for the ancient tomb excavated.Since the original stone is the folk inscription of the Han Dynasty with imperfect skills and irregular character structure,mistakes in interpretation are inevitable.The present article analyzes and discusses the stone inscription in the four aspects of the identity of the author,the custom of tree-planting,the theme of the inscription and the death time of XU An-guo and his son.

Abstract:There is a large amount of information on The Western Han Dynasty administrative divisions on Jianshuijinguan Han wood slips published recently. Based on the historical records, these Place names such as Weiwen of Zhao Kingdom(赵国尉文)、Zai of Liang Kingdom(梁国載)、Shu of Wei Prefecture(魏郡鄃)、Cuo of Wei Prefecture(魏郡厝)、Linqiu of Wei Prefecture(魏郡廪丘)and the question about West Han political region are analyzed in the paper. Weiwen of Zhao Kingdom is Related to Weiwen Marquisate. In Geographical Records in the History of the Han Dynasty, Zai(甾)was written as Zai(載).From Wudi advanced to the early of Yuandi, Shu (鄃)and Cuo(厝) were attached to Wei Prefecture . And linqiu of Wei Prefecture (魏郡廪丘)should be chiqiu of Wei Prefecture(魏郡斥丘).

Abstract:Because of some mistaken interpretations and misunderstandings of the words on the lid of Mugong Gui inscription of the Western Zhou Dynasty,the truth of the recorded event of this inscription was not so clear.In fact,the name of the place in the first sentence of this inscription is a famous hunting ground,which was found in the inscriptions of the oracle bones of the Dynasty.With reference of the textual research of the inscriptions Shang Division and Zhou,and comparing with the relevant facts of the Dynasty bronze inscriptions of Zaifu You,it is determined that the inscriptions on the lid of Mugong Gui was recorded as a large-scale hunting activity.This thesis discovers a piece of valuable historical material of a big hunting ceremony of the Western Zhou Dynasty.

Abstract:Through analysis of the literally recorded location of the Song Emperor Wudi's Chuning Mausoleum and Wendi's Changning Mausoleum of the Southern Dynasties period and compar- ison of the style of the stone animals presently existing at Qilinpu in Nanjing with that of their counter- parts along the spirit roads of mausoleums round the Song period of Southern Dynasties times it can be concluded that the Qilinpu stone animals must be sculptures of an imperial mausoleum of the Chen Dy- nasty in the Southern Dynasties period (very possibly belonging to the Chen Emperor Jingdi's Ruiling Mausoleum) rather than sculptures for the Chuning and Changning mausoleums.

Abstract:This paper discussed some knotty questions concerning Guicang (a book generally admitted as divination materials used in the Shang Dynasty) copied on the bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty unearthed at Wang-jia-tai and Guicang of the current version. The paper points out that the former one should be the chapter of Zheng-mu-jing in the latter one. Zhengmu refers to respecting mother, Putting mother in the first place. The original meaning of the hexagram of Yu （《豫》） in Zhouyi (the Book of Changes) Should be greatness, for it is pronounced as Jie in Guicang copied on the Wang-jia-tai bamboo slips. The hexagram of Gui（《规》） corresponds to the hexagram of Sui （《随》） in Thouyi. Guicang in current version regards Shi（《》 or 《》） as the hexagram of Kun （《坤》）, for it mistakes the character affiliated to a hexagram as the name of the hexagram. Tian-mu (天目) in Guicang on the slips should be mistaken characters of Tian-yuc (天曰). Guicang on the slips includes more homonyms with Thouyi in the current version than that copied on silk. Guicang on the slips the as the symbol of Yin whichd indicates that is the symbol of Yin but not a number with different properties.

Abstract:WU Jian's Qingjingsi ji is an important inscription in the Islamic history of the Yuan Dynasty.Though the stone stele was destroyed,the inscription can be found now in Chongli Qingjingsi Bei and Minshu which is excerpt.Recently,scholars presented their suspects to the reliability of the inscription on Chongli Qingjingsi Bei.But I think all those suspects are aroused by wrong texts published in Quanzhou zongjiao shike.At last this paper discussed how the qingjingsi ji was carved on stone stele and was included in regional records of Quanzhou city,as well as the resource of WU Jian's recogniton about Islam.

Abstract:Sentences of The Analects of Confucius, Book of Filial Piety, The Book of Mencius, The Book of Changes, and Master Zuo’s Spring and Autumn Annals found on the bamboo slips included in Han Dynasty Wooden Slips from Jianshuijinguan (Ⅲ) are different from those in extant versions of these books, which reflects that people in the Han dynasty were not confined solely to canonical literature, though they made positive use of these classics in governing the country.

Abstract:In the Bamboo Slips Kept in Tsinghua University,there are 20 pieces of SHANGSHU,YIZHOUSHU and the lost SHANGSHU.The Bamboo Slips "Jinteng" has a direct relation with the new text SHANGSHU handed down from Fu Sheng.From the Bamboo Slips Kept in Tsinghua University,we can neither prove nor deny the point of view that Confucius has edited the 100 pieces of SHANGSHU.However,it can show that the old text SHANGSHU,coming from the East-Jin Dynasty,has no historical evidences.In the Bamboo Slips Kept in Tsinghua University,"Yingao" and "Yinzhi" have some words and expressions which are similar with "Xiashu" and "Shangshu" in the new text SHANGSHU.For there are no differences between SHANGSHU and YIZHOUSHU in the Bamboo Slips Kept in Tsinghua University,we should appraise higher some pieces in the YIZHOUSHU.

Abstract:Referring to the epitaph found in the tomb of An Pu and to the biographies of An Jinzang in each of the two official Tang histories(New and Old texts),the author again interprets the Zoroastrian(Xianjiao) beliefs of An Pu's family.The article takes the view that An Jinzang in conducting the joint funeral for his parents took the Hound Deity(Quan Shi) and offered sacrifices to the Zoroastrian God of War Mulu and the Goddess of the Waters and Fertility Anahita.He separately offered up different animals to the deities,namely the dog and deer,and the text of‘Biography of An Jinzang'in the Tang histories describes how‘the dog and deer were offered together'and‘a spring suddenly bubbled forth on the plain where there was once no water'.Such a funeral service was in keeping with the precepts of Zoroastrianism and commensurate with the social standing of An Pu as holder of the post of Dingyuan General.The unique architectural construction of the tomb of An Pu also provides evidence supporting the author's arguments.
