Abstract:The problem is considered of best approximation of finite number of functions simultaneously. For a very general class of norms, characterization results are derived. The main part of the paper is concerned with proving uniqueness and strong uniqueness theorems. Our results improve and generalize various results of S.M. Shah [5], M.N. Seremeta [4], Kapoor and Nautiyal [2], Vakarchuk [9], Vakarchuk and Zhir [10], Winiarski ([11],[12]). In this way we summarize and unify the work which has been done on this subject to-date.

Abstract:This paper aims at approximation of functions by linear integral operators on variable exponent spaces associated with a general exponent function on a domain of a Euclidean space. Under a log-Hölder continuity assumption of the exponent function, we present quantitative estimates for the approximation and solve an open problem raised in our earlier work. As applications of our key estimates, we provide high orders of approximation by quasi-interpolation type and linear combinations of Bernstein type integral operators on variable exponent spaces. We also introduce K-functionals and moduli of smoothness on variable exponent spaces and discuss their relationships and applications.

Abstract:There are exponential operators which are defined on the whole real line, namely, the Ismail–May operators (Tnf)(x) , connected to 1+x2 , and the Gauss–Weierstrass operators (Wnf)(x) , connected with 1. Here we consider the composition Vn:=Tn∘Wn of these two operators and observe that the composition operator is not of exponential type operator. We find moment‐generating functions and moments of these operators and estimate some point‐wise convergence of these operators using the characteristic function. We also estimate quantitative Voronovskaya type asymptotic formula and error estimation. Also, the difference of the composition operators Vn with its components Tn and Wn is estimated in terms of modulus of continuity. Finally, we provide some graphs to see visualize the convergence by considering the function x2e2x .

Abstract:We obtain the exact order estimates of the approximation of the functions of many variables from the generalized Nikol'skii-Besov classes $B^{\Omega}_{p,\theta}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ by sums of de la Vallee Poussin type in the metrics space $L_{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and $L_{1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. These classes of functions for some given $\Omega$ coincide with the well-known classical Nikol'skii-Besov isotropic classes.

Abstract:In this article, we propose a new sequence of α -Bernstein-Kantorovich type operators based on a parameter ζ , and to study approximation behavior of our operators, we establish local and global approximation theorems. Also, we introduce bivariate α -Bernstein-Kantorovich operators and estimate the Voronovskaya type asymptotic theorem and the order of approximation using Peetre's K -functional. Lastly, using Maple software, we show the convergence of our newly defined operators to a certain function by graph.

We study the convergence of the introduced operators and also obtain the rate of convergence by these operators in terms of the modulus of continuity. We show comparisons and some illustrative graphics for the convergence of operators to a certain function.

Abstract:In Gauthier, Manolaki, and Nestoridis (2021, Advances in Mathematics 381, 107649), in order to correct a false Mergelyan-type statement given in Gamelin and Garnett (1969, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society 143, 187–200) on uniform approximation on compact sets K in , the authors introduced a natural function algebra which is smaller than the classical one . In the present paper, we investigate when these two algebras coincide and compare them with the classes of all plausibly approximable functions by polynomials or rational functions or functions holomorphic on open sets containing the compact set K . Finally, we introduce a notion of O -hull of K and strengthen known results.

Abstract:In this study, we construct a Stancu-type generalization of bivariate Bernstein–Kantorovich operators that reproduce exponential functions. Then, we investigate some approximation results for these operators. We use test functions to prove a Korovkin-type convergence theorem. Then, we show the rate of convergence by the modulus of continuity and give a Voronovskaya-type theorem. We give a covergence comparison about bivariate Bernstein–Kantorovich–Stancu operators and their exponential form.

Abstract:In this manuscript, a new family of ( , )-Bernstein–Kantorovich operators are introduced. A Kovovkin type approximation theorem is obtained, the rate of convergence and A -statistical convergence are investigated by using the modulus of smoothness, Steklov mean and Korovkin-type statistical approximation theorem, graphical representations and numerical examples are also presented to compare the newly defined ones with other forms. Finally, an asymptotic estimate on the rate of convergence for some absolutely continuous functions are derived by using the Bojainc–Cheng decomposition method and some analysis techniques.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce a new weighted Lipschitz class W(Lp(TN), ξ1(s1), . . . , ξN(sN)) and Zygmund class Z(Lp(TN), ξ1(s1), . . . , ξN(sN)) for N ∈ N, which generalizes the classes given in [7, 11]. We prove two theorems about the degree (error) of approximation of functions, conjugate to the N-variable functions (2π-periodic in each variable) belonging to these classes using the N-multiple matrix means of their N-multiple conjugate Fourier series. We improve the results of Móricz and Rhoades [6] and Móricz and Shi [7], which are given in the form of corollaries.

Abstract:The primary objective of this work is to explore various approximation properties of Stancu variant generalized (λ,μ)-Bernstein operators. Various moment estimates are analyzed, and several aspects of local direct approximation theorems are investigated. Additionally, further approximation features of newly defined operators are delved into, such as the Voronovskaya-type asymptotic theorem and pointwise estimates. By comparing the proposed operator graphically and numerically with some linear positive operators known in the literature, it is evident that much better approximation results are achieved in terms of convergence behavior, calculation efficiency, and consistency. Finally, the newly defined operators are used to obtain a numerical solution for a special case of the fractional Volterra integral equation of the second kind.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a strong inverse approximation theorem and saturation order for the family of Kantorovich exponential sampling operators. The class of log-uniformly continuous and bounded functions, and class of log-Hölderian functions are considered to derive these results. We also prove some auxiliary results including Voronovskaya type theorem, and a relation between the Kantorovich exponential sampling series and the generalized exponential sampling series, to achieve the desired plan. Moreover, some examples of kernels satisfying the conditions, which are assumed in the hypotheses of our theorems, are discussed.

Abstract:This paper discusses the properties of a modified version of the Stancu variant Szász-Mirakjan Kantorovich type operators. We determine the order of approximation in terms of the modulus of continuity and second-order of smoothness, and we obtain the rate of convergence using the Lipschitz space. We also establish a relation using the Peetre-$K$ functional for the proposed operators. An asymptotic formula for these operators is also established to understand the asymptotic behavior. Along with these discussions, we give some convergence properties in weighted spaces using the weight function. Moving ahead in weighted spaces, the Quantitative Voronovskaya-type and Grüss Voronovskaya-type theorems are proved using the weighted modulus of continuity. Furthermore, we determine the rate of convergence of the proposed operators in terms of functions with derivatives of bounded variations. Finally, we provide graphical representations and numerical analysis for our theoretical findings.
