Abstract:We consider the convergence of pointed multiply connected domains in the Caratheodory topology. Behaviour in the limit is largely determined by the properties of the simple closed hyperbolic geodesics which separate components of the complement. Of particular importance are those whose hyperbolic length is as short as possible which we call meridians of the domain. We prove a continuity result on convergence of such geodesics for sequences of pointed hyperbolic domains which converge in the Caratheodory topology to another pointed hyperbolic domain. Using this we describe an equivalent condition to Caratheodory convergence which is formulated in terms of Riemann mappings to standard slit domains.

Abstract:In this paper, we generalize the Bochner-Kodaira formulas to the case of Hermitian complex (possibly non-holomorphic) vector bundles over compact Hermitian (possibly non-Kähler) manifolds. As applications, we get the complex analyticity of harmonic maps between compact Hermitian manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of various harmonic maps from Hermitian manifolds to Kaehler, Hermitian and Riemannian manifolds respectively. By using refined Bochner formulas on Hermitian (possibly non-Kaehler) manifolds, we derive new rigidity results on Hermitian harmonic maps from compact Hermitian manifolds to Riemannian manifolds, and we also obtain the complex analyticity of pluri-harmonic maps from compact complex manifolds to compact Kaehler manifolds (and Riemannian manifolds) with non-degenerate curvatures, which are analogous to several fundamental results in [28,Siu], [14,Jost-Yau] and [26, Sampson].

Abstract:General harmonic extension has no uniqueness and harmonic functions may have different non-tangential boundary values in different convergence sense. In this paper, we establish first beta-harmonic functions in ultra-distribution frame. Further, we consider the characterization between Carleson measure space and boundary distribution space. For beta-harmonic functions with boundary distributions, there exists no maximum value principle. We apply Meyer wavelets to introduce basic harmonic functions and basic observers. We apply Meyer wavelets and vaguelette knowledge to prove the uniqueness of beta-harmonic extension and prove also that beta-harmonic function converges to boundary distribution in the relative norm sense.

Abstract:We consider Non Autonomous Conformal Iterative Function Systems (NACIFS) and their limit set. Our main concern is harmonic measure and its dimensions : Hausdorff and Packing. We prove that this two dimensions are continuous under perturbations and that they verify Bowen's and Manning's type formulas. In order to do so we prove general results about measures, and more generally about positive functionals, defined on a symbolic space, developing tools from thermodynamical formalism in a non-autonomous setting.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate what are Carleson measures on open subsets in the complex plane. A circular domain is a connected open subset whose boundary consists of finitely many disjoint circles. We call a domain $G$ multi-nicely connected if there exists a circular domain $W$ and a conformal map $\psi$ from $W$ onto $G$ such that $\psi$ is almost univalent with respect the arclength on $\partial W$. We characterize all Carleson measures for those open subsets so that each of their components is multi-nicely connected and harmonic measures of the components are mutually singular. Our results suggest the extend of Carleson measures probably is up to this class of open subsets.

Abstract:Let {f(n) : D --> D} be a sequence of locally quasiconformal harmonic maps on the unit disk D with respect to the Poincare metric. Suppose that the energy densities of fn are uniformly bounded from below by a positive constant and locally uniformly bounded from above. Then there is a subsequence of {f(n)} that locally uniformly converges on D, and the limit function is either a locally quasiconformal harmonic map of the Poincare disk or a constant. Especially, if the limit function is not a constant, the subsequence can be chosen to satisfy some stronger conditions. As an application, it is proved that every point of the space T-0(D), a subspace of the universal Teichmuller space, can be represented by a quasiconformal harmonic map that is an asymptotic hyperbolic isometry.

Abstract:We study the Carleson measures associated to the Hardy and weighted Bergman spaces defined on general simply connected domains. This program was initiated by Zinsmeister in his paper \textit{Les domaines de Carleson }(1989), where he shows that the geometry of the domain plays a fundamental role. We will review the classical results presenting, in some cases, alternative proofs and will examine the situation for the weighted Bergman spaces.

Abstract:We determine bubble tree convergence for a sequence of harmonic maps, with uniform energy bounds, from a compact Riemann surface into a compact locally CAT(1) space. In particular, we demonstrate energy quantization and the no-neck property for such a sequence. In the smooth setting, Jost and Parker respectively established these results by exploiting now classical arguments for harmonic maps. Our work demonstrates that these results can be reinterpreted geometrically. In the absence of a PDE, we take advantage of the local convexity properties of the target space. Included in this paper are an $\epsilon$-regularity theorem, an energy gap theorem, and a removable singularity theorem for harmonic maps for harmonic maps into metric spaces with upper curvature bounds. We also prove an isoperimetric inequality for conformal harmonic maps with small image.

Abstract:We study Betti numbers of sequences of Riemannian manifolds which Benjamini-Schramm converge to their universal covers. Using the Price inequalities we developed elsewhere, we derive two distinct convergence results. First, under a negative Ricci curvature assumption and no assumption on sign of the sectional curvature, we have a convergence result for weakly uniform discrete sequences of closed Riemannian manifolds. In the negative sectional curvature case, we are able to remove the weakly uniform discreteness assumption. This is achieved by combining a refined Thick-Thin decomposition together with a Moser iteration argument for harmonic forms on manifolds with boundary.

Abstract:Let $\varphi\in C^0 \cap W^{1,2}(\Sigma, X)$ where $\Sigma$ is a compact Riemann surface, $X$ is a compact locally CAT(1) space, and $W^{1,2}(\Sigma,X)$ is defined as in Korevaar-Schoen. We use the technique of harmonic replacement to prove that either there exists a harmonic map $u:\Sigma \to X$ homotopic to $\varphi$ or there exists a conformal harmonic map $v:\mathbb S^2 \to X$. To complete the argument, we prove compactness for energy minimizers and a removable singularity theorem for conformal harmonic maps.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that all doubling measures on the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ are Carleson measures for the standard Dirichlet space $\mathcal{D}$. The proof has three ingredients. The first one is a characterization of Carleson measures which holds true for general reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. The second one is another new equivalent condition for Carleson measures, which holds true only for the standard Dirichlet space. The third one is an application of the dyadic method to our settings.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the convergence behavior of a sequence of harmonic maps from long cylinders with uniformly bounded energy. If the bubbling phenomenon does not occur, we give the length formula of the limit map (i.e., geodesic in the target manifold). Furthermore, we provide a geometric explanation of the energy identity for a sequence of harmonic maps from degenerating Riemann surfaces with uniformly bounded energy, proved by M. Zhu.

Abstract:We study the Carleson measures on NTA and ADP domains in the Heisenberg groups $\mathbb{H}^n$ and provide two characterizations of such measures: (1) in terms of the level sets of subelliptic harmonic functions and (2) via the $1$-quasiconformal family of mappings on the Korányi--Reimann unit ball. Moreover, we establish the $L^2$-bounds for the square function $S_{\alpha}$ of a subelliptic harmonic function and the Carleson measure estimates for the BMO boundary data, both on NTA domains in $\mathbb{H}^n$. Finally, we prove a Fatou-type theorem on $(\epsilon, \delta)$-domains in $\mathbb{H}^n$.

Abstract:Motivated by the theory of harmonic maps on Riemannian surfaces, conformal-harmonic maps between two Riemannian manifolds $M$ and $N$ were introduced in search of a natural notion of harmonicity for maps defined on a general even dimensional Riemannian manifold $M$. They are critical points of a conformally invariant energy functional and reassemble the GJMS operators when the target is the set of real or complex numbers. On a four dimensional manifold, conformal-harmonic maps are the conformally invariant counterparts of the intrinsic bi-harmonic maps and a mapping version of the conformally invariant Paneitz operator for functions. In this paper, we consider conformal-harmonic maps from certain locally conformally flat 4-manifolds into spheres. We prove a quantitative uniqueness result for such conformal-harmonic maps as an immediate consequence of convexity for the conformally-invariant energy functional. To this end, we are led to prove a version of second order Hardy inequality on manifolds, which may be of independent interest.

Abstract:Partially motivated by the study of I. Binder, N. Makarov, and S. Smirnov [BMS03] on dimension spectra of polynomial Cantor sets, we initiate the investigation on some general harmonic measures, inspired by Sullivan's dictionary, for distance-expanding dynamical systems. Let $f\colon X\to X$ be an open distance-expanding map on a compact metric space $(X,\rho)$. A Gromov hyperbolic tile graph $\Gamma$ associated to the dynamical system $(X,f)$ is constructed following the ideas from M. Bonk, D. Meyer [BM17] and P. Haïssinsky, K. M. Pilgrim [HP09]. We consider a class of one-sided random walks associated with $(X,f)$ on $\Gamma$. They induce a Martin boundary of the tile graph, which may be different from the hyperbolic boundary. We show that the Martin boundary of such a random walk admits a surjection to $X$. We provide a class of examples to show that the surjection may not be a homeomorphism. Such random walks also induce measures on $X$ called harmonic measures. When $\rho$ is a visual metric, we establish an equality between the fractal dimension of the harmonic measure and the asymptotic quantities of the random walk.
