Abstract:Let $G$ be an infinite-dimensional real classical group containing the complete unitary group (or complete orthogonal group) as a subgroup. Then $G$ generates a category of double cosets (train) and any unitary representation of $G$ can be canonically extended to the train. We prove a technical lemma about the complete group $GL$ of infinite $p$-adic matrices with integer coefficients, this lemma implies that the phenomenon of automatic extension of unitary representations to trains is valid for infinite-dimensional $p$-adic groups.

Abstract:Let λ and μ be sequence spaces and have both the signed-weak gliding hump property, (λ, μ) the algebra of the infinite matrix operators which transform λ into μ. Abstract:Let G be a semisimple Lie group with a Cartan decomposition G = K exp($\mathfrak{p}$). For every finite-dimensional representation of G, there is an inner product on the representation space such that with respect to it, K acts as unitary operators, and exp($\mathfrak{p}$) acts as positive definite Hermitian operators. In this paper, we observe that similar phenomena appear for infinite-dimensional representations with real infinitesimal characters.

Abstract:Let $mathbf G$ be a complex orthogonal or complex symplectic group, and let $G$ be a real form of $mathbf G$, namely $G$ is a real orthogonal group, a real symplectic group, a quaternionic orthogonal group, or a quaternionic symplectic group. For a fixed parity $mathbb pin mathbb Z/2mathbb Z$, we define a set $mathrm{Nil}^{mathbb p}_{mathbf G}(mathfrak g)$ of nilpotent $mathbf G$-orbits $mathfrak g$ (the Lie algebra of $mathbf G$). When $mathbb p$ is the parity of the dimension of the standard module of $mathbf G$, this is the set of the stably trivial special nilpotent orbits, which includes all rigid special nilpotent orbits. For each $mathcal O in mathrm{Nil}^{mathbb p}_{mathbf G}(mathfrak g)$, we construct all unipotent representations of $G$ (or its metaplectic cover when $G$ is a real symplectic group and $mathbb p$ is odd) attached to $mathcal O$ via the method of theta lifting and show particular that they are unitary.

Abstract:A bi-invariant differential 2-form on a Lie group G is a highly constrained object, being determined by purely linear data: an Ad-invariant alternating bilinear form on the Lie algebra of G. On a compact connected Lie group these have an known classification, in terms of de Rham cohomology, which is here generalised to arbitrary finite-dimensional Lie groups, at the cost of losing the connection to cohomology. This expanded classification extends further to all Milnor regular infinite-dimensional Lie groups. I give some examples of (structured) diffeomorphism groups to which the result on bi-invariant forms applies. For symplectomorphism and volume-preserving diffeomorphism groups the spaces of bi-invariant 2-forms are finite-dimensional, and related to the de Rham cohomology of the original compact manifold. In the particular case of the infinite-dimensional projective unitary group PU(H) the classification invalidates an assumption made by Mathai and the author about a certain 2-form on this Banach Lie group.

Abstract: Let $G$ be a real reductive group in Harish-Chandra's class. We derive some consequences of theory of coherent continuation representations to the counting of irreducible representations of $G$ with a given infinitesimal character and a given bound of the complex associated variety. When $G$ is a real classical group (including the real metaplectic group), we investigate the set of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$, in the sense of Arthur and Barbasch-Vogan. Here $\check{\mathcal O}$ is a nilpotent adjoint orbit in the Langlands dual of $G$ (or the metaplectic dual of $G$ when $G$ is a real metaplectic group). We give a precise count for the number of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{ \mathcal O}$. We also reduce the problem of constructing special unipotent representations attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$ to the case when $\check{\mathcal O}$ is analytically even (equivalently for a real classical group, has good parity in the sense of M{\oe}glin). The paper is the first in a series of two papers on the classification of special unipotent representations of real classical groups.

Abstract:In this article, by studying the Bernstein degrees and Goldie rank polynomials, we establish a comparison between the irreducible representations of G = GL n （C） possessing the minimal Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and those induced from finite-dimensional representations of the maximal parabolic subgroup of G of type（n-1, 1）. Abstract:We classify $n$-representation infinite algebras $\Lambda$ of type Ã. This type is defined by requiring that $\Lambda$ has higher preprojective algebra $\Pi_{n+1}(\Lambda) \simeq k[x_1, \ldots, x_{n+1}] \ast G$, where $G \leq \operatorname{SL}_{n+1}(k)$ is finite abelian. For the classification, we group these algebras according to a more refined type, and give a combinatorial characterisation of these types. This is based on so-called height functions, which generalise the height function of a perfect matching in a Dimer model. In terms of toric geometry and McKay correspondence, the types form a lattice simplex of junior elements of $G$. We show that all algebras of the same type are related by iterated $n$-APR tilting, and hence are derived equivalent. By disallowing certain tilts, we turn this set into a finite distributive lattice, and we construct its maximal and minimal elements.

Abstract:We consider the problem of constructing a Gelfand--Tsetlin basis in irreducible representations of an infinite-dimensional general linear group. For a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of a general linear group, all elements of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis are parameterized by Gelfand--Tsetlin schemes. We extend this definition to infinite Gelfand--Tsetlin schemes, which in turn parameterize elements of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis of an irreducible representation of an infinite-dimensional complete linear group. Using the properties of colimits of representations with the highest weight, we present an explicit form of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis.

Abstract:The paper deals with the theoretical investigation of intrasubband plasmons in an array of quantum wires, consisting of a finite number of quantum wires, arranged at an equal distance from each other and placed into an external magnetic field. Two types of quantum wire array are under consideration: an ordered array of quantum wires with equal electron densities in all quantum wires and weakly disordered array of quantum wires, which is characterized by the fact that the density of electrons of one defect quantum wire was different from that of other quantum wires. For the ordered array of quantum wires, placed into the external magnetic field, the nonmonotonical dependence of plasmon frequency upon the 1D density of electrons in quantum wires is predicted. For high magnetic field the existence of 1D electron density ranges, in which plasmon modes do not exist, is shown. For the weakly disordered array of quantum wires the existence of the local plasmon modes, which properties differ from those of usual modes, is found. At high magnetic field the disappearance of the local plasmon modes at certain ranges of 1D electron density in defect quantum wire is shown.

Abstract:In this article we classify the irreducible representations of finite classical groups $G$ of Lie type of rank $\ell$ with dimension at most a constant proportional to $\ell^4$ according to whether $G$ is of type $A_{\ell}$ or not. The dimensions of those representations are explicitly computed by hand. We conclude the work by addressing certain cases of the inverse Galois problem via the foregoing classification.

Abstract:We consider linear bounded operators acting in Banach spaces with a basis, such operators can be represented by an infinite matrix. We prove that for an invertible operator there exists a sequence of invertible finite-dimensional operators so that the family of norms of their inverses is uniformly bounded. It leads to the fact that solutions of finite-dimensional equations converge to the solution of initial operator equation with infinite-dimensional matrix.

Abstract:Hilbert--Lie groups are Lie groups whose Lie algebra is a real Hilbert space whose scalar product is invariant under the adjoint action. These infinite-dimensional Lie groups are the closest relatives to compact Lie groups. Here we study unitary representations of these groups from various perspectives. First, we address norm-continuous, also called bounded, representations: they are well-known for simple groups, but the general picture is more complicated. Our first main result is a characterization of the discrete decomposability of all bounded representations in terms of boundedness of the set of coroots. We also show that bounded representations of type II and III exist if the set of coroots is unbounded. Second, we use covariance with respect to a one-parameter group of automorphisms to implement some regularity. Here we develop some perturbation theory based on half Lie groups that reduces matters to the case where a ``maximal torus'' is fixed, so that compatible weight decompositions can be studied. Third, we extend the context to projective representations which are covariant for a one-parameter group of automorphisms. Here important families of representations arise from ``bounded extremal weights'', and for these the corresponding central extensions can be determined explicitly, together with all one-parameter groups for which a covariant extension exists.
