Abstract:We investigate the properties of some recently developed variable-order differential operators involving order transition functions of exponential type. Since the characterisation of such operators is performed in the Laplace domain it is necessary to resort to accurate numerical methods to derive the corresponding behaviours in the time domain. In this regard, we develop a computational procedure to solve variable-order fractional differential equations of this novel class. Furthermore, we provide some numerical experiments to show the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

Abstract:In this manuscript, we deal with some particular type of homogeneous first order linear systems with variable coefficients, in which we provide qualitative properties of the solution. When the coefficients of the indeterminate functions are periodic with the same period, $T$, we obtain a simple method so as to obtain the Floquet coefficients. We give a new interpretation of the averages on the interval $(0,T)$ of the matrix of the coefficients. We discuss some examples and made some comparison with previous results.

Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:In this work, we are concerned with the well-known Lie group theory to find symmetries of differential equations with fractional derivative -Caputo variable order. In this sense, we discuss the Leibniz-type rule and also the chain-type rule for the fractional derivative of this operator. In the end, we apply the results obtained in the fractional Harry Dym-type equation to find its symmetries, and we present a solution for a fractional Harry Dym-type equation with constant order.

Abstract:The traditional theory of Laplace transformation in its currently prevalent form is unsatisfactory. Its deficiencies can be traced back to a mismatch of the definition intervals of the original function and of the inverse L-transform. A new approach is outlined by which Laplace transformation becomes liberated from its inconsistencies.

Abstract:We make use of the Laplace transform and gamma function to construct a new integral transform having the property of mapping a derivative to the backward difference, whence we derive a method for solving difference equations and, relying on classical orthogonal polynomials, for obtaining combinatorial identities. Abstract:Ordinary and partial differential equations with operators containing the p-Laplace operator, the so called ϕ-Laplace operator, operators with variable exponents and the double phase operators have been studied thoroughly for at least the last 20 years and the amount of papers dealing with these subjects is huge. In this paper we deal with the problem of the existence of periodic solutions to some system of ODE's involving a fairly general operator generalizing in this form corresponding results for the areas of research just mentioned. In our results neither the function generating the differential operator nor the right hand side function in the boundary value problem considered are necessarily equal to the gradient of a function. Our main result is a here is a continuation theorem based on the Leray-Schauder degree theory which allows us to obtain the existence of solutions for the boundary value problem considered.

Abstract:The study of variable order differential equations is important in science and engineering for a better representation and analysis of dynamical problems. In the literature, there are several fractional order operators involving variable orders. In this article, we construct a nonlinear variable order fractional differential system with a p-Laplacian operator. The presumed problem is a general class of the nonlinear equations of variable orders in the ABC sense of derivatives in combination with Caputo's fractional derivative. We investigate the existence of solutions and the Hyers–Ulam stability of the considered equation. The presumed problem is a hybrid in nature and has a lot of applications. We have given its particular example as a waterborne disease model of variable order which is analysed for the numerical computations for different variable orders. The results obtained for the variable orders have an advantage over the constant orders in that the variable order simulations present the fluctuation of the real dynamics throughout our observations of the simulations.

Abstract:Several approaches to the formulation of a fractional theory of calculus of "variable order" have appeared in the literature over the years. Unfortunately, most of these proposals lack a rigorous mathematical framework. We consider an alternative view on the problem, originally proposed by G. Scarpi in the early seventies, based on a naive modification of the representation in the Laplace domain of standard kernels functions involved in (constant-order) fractional calculus. We frame Scarpi's ideas within recent theory of General Fractional Derivatives and Integrals, that mostly rely on the Sonine condition, and investigate the main properties of the emerging variable-order operators. Then, taking advantage of powerful and easy-to-use numerical methods for the inversion of Laplace transforms of functions defined in the Laplace domain, we discuss some practical applications of the variable-order Scarpi integral and derivative.

Abstract:In this article, we propose an efficient numerical algorithm for the inverse Laplace transform using Legendre wavelet operational matrices and discuss its applications to fractional differential equations. Numerical examples are provided to elucidate the efficiency and the simplicity of the proposed approach. Error tables and graphical demonstration show the high precision of the proposed numerical algorithm. This approach is straight forward, rather simple and suitable for MATLAB programming.

Abstract:In this paper, we present various concepts concerning generalized fractional calculus, wherein the fractional order of operators is not constant, and the integral kernel depends on a function. We observe that in the case of variable order, the concepts are distinct, and we present relations between them. Formulas for approximating fractional derivatives are provided, involving only integer-order derivatives. Finally, we conclude the work with some simulations to exemplify the method.

The third-order operator is an $L$-operator in the Lax pair for the good Boussinesq equation. We construct the mapping from the set of the coefficients to the set of spectral data. Abstract:An important class of fractional differential and integral operators is given by the theory of fractional calculus with respect to functions, sometimes called $\Psi$-fractional calculus. The operational calculus approach has proved useful for understanding and extending this topic of study. Motivated by fractional differential equations, we present an operational calculus approach for Laplace transforms with respect to functions and their relationship with fractional operators with respect to functions. This approach makes the generalised Laplace transforms much easier to analyse and to apply in practice. We prove several important properties of these generalised Laplace transforms, including an inversion formula, and apply it to solve some fractional differential equations, using the operational calculus approach for efficient solving.
