Abstract:In this work we use variational methods to prove results on existence and concentration of solutions to a problem in $\mathbb{R}^N$ involving the $1-$Laplacian operator. A thorough analysis on the energy functional defined in the space of functions of bounded variation $BV(\mathbb{R}^N)$ is necessary, where the lack of compactness is overcome by using the Concentration of Compactness Principle of Lions.

Abstract:We study the discrete version of the $p$-Laplacian. Based on its variational properties we discuss some features of the associated parabolic problem. Our approach allows us in turn to obtain interesting information about positivity and comparison principles as well as compatibility with the symmetries of the graph. We conclude briefly discussing the variational properties of a handful of nonlinear generalized Laplacians appearing in different parabolic equations.

Abstract:The existence of weak solution for p-Laplace problem is studied in the paper. By exploiting the relationship between the Nehari manifold and fibering maps and combining the compact imbedding theorem and the behavior of Palais-Smale sequences in the Nehari manifold, the existence of weak solutions is established. By means of the Arzela-Ascoli fixed point theorem, some existence results of the corresponding time-fractional equations of the p-Laplace problem are obtained.

Abstract:Based on properties of Green's function and the some conditions of $ f(t, u) $, we found a minimal and a maximal positive solution by the method of sequence approximation. Moreover, based on the properties of Green's function and fixed point index theorem, the existence of multiple positive solutions for a singular $ p $-Laplacian fractional differential equation with infinite-point boundary conditions was obtained and, at last, an example was given to demonstrate the validity of our main results.

Abstract:Sharp lower and upper uniform estimates are obtained for fundamental frequencies of $p$-Laplace type operators generated by quadratic forms. Optimal constants are exhibited, rigidity of the upper estimate is proved, anisotropic attainability of the lower estimate is derived as well as characterization of anisotropic extremizers for circular and rectangular membranes. Sharp quantitative anisotropic inequalities associated with lower constants are also established, providing as a by-product information on anisotropic stability. When the uniform ellipticity condition is relaxed, we show that the optimal lower constant remains positive, while anisotropic extremizers no longer exist. Our sharp lower estimate can be viewed as an isoanisotropic counterpart of the Faber-Krahn isoperimetric inequality in the plane.

Abstract:In this present paper, we investigate a new class of singular double phase $p$-Laplacian equation problems with a $\psi$-Hilfer fractional operator combined from a parametric term. Motivated by the fibering method using the Nehari manifold, we discuss the existence of at least two weak solutions to such problems when the parameter is small enough. Before attacking the main contribution, we discuss some results involving the energy functional and the Nehari manifold.

Abstract:We discuss two optimization problems related to the fractional $p$-Laplacian. First, we prove the existence of at least one minimizer for the principal eigenvalue of the fractional $p$-Laplacian with Dirichlet conditions, with a bounded weight function varying in a rearrangement class. Then, we investigate the maximization of the energy functional for general nonlinear equations driven by the same operator, as the reaction varies in a rearrangement class. In both cases, we provide a pointwise relation between the optimizing datum and the corresponding solution.
