Abstract:In this article, we find the fundamental solution of the fractional p-laplacian and use them to prove two different Liouville-type theorems. A non-existence classical Liouville-type theorem for p-superharmonic and a Louville type results for an Emden-Folder type equation with the fractional p-laplacian.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the fractional p-Laplacian equation (-Delta)(p)(s)u(x) = f(u(x)), where the fractional p-Laplacian is of the form (-Delta)(p)(s)u(x) = Cn,s,pPV integral(Rn) vertical bar u(x) - u(y)vertical bar(p-2)(u(x) - u(y))/vertical bar x - y vertical bar(n+sp) dy. By proving a narrow region principle to the equation above and extending the direct method of moving planes used in fractional Laplacian equations, we establish the radial symmetry in the unit ball and nonexistence on the half space for the solutions, respectively.

The global existence of nonnegative solutions is obtained by combining the Galerkin approximations with the potential well theory. Then, by virtue of a differential inequality technique, we give a decay estimate of solutions.

By using variational arguments and Morse theory, for $$\lambda >0$$ small enough we obtain three nontrivial solutions: two of them are fixed sign, the other one is nodal.

Abstract:The existence of a solution to the parabolic system with the fractional Laplacian (−Δ) α /2 , α > 0 is proven, this solution decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. As an application, the existence of a solution to the generalized Navier-Stokes equations is proven, which decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. The generalized Navier-Stokes equations are the equations resulting from replacing −Δ in the Navier-Stokes equations by (−Δ) m , m > 0. At last, a similar result for 3-D incompressible anisotropic Navier-Stokes system is obtained.

Abstract:We study the existence of nontrivial solution of the following equation without compactness: (-Δ)pαu+up-2u=f(x,u), x∈RN, where N,p≥2, α∈(0,1), (-Δ)pα is the fractional p-Laplacian, and the subcritical p-superlinear term f∈C(RN×R) is 1-periodic in xi for i=1,2,…,N. Our main difficulty is that the weak limit of (PS) sequence is not always the weak solution of fractional p-Laplacian type equation. To overcome this difficulty, by adding coercive potential term and using mountain pass theorem, we get the weak solution uλ of perturbation equations. And we prove that uλ→u as λ→0. Finally, by using vanishing lemma and periodic condition, we get that u is a nontrivial solution of fractional p-Laplacian equation.

We prove: there is a lambda(0) > 0 such that for any lambda is an element of (0; lambda(0)), the above problem possesses infinitely many solutions. We achieve our goal by making use of variational methods, more specifically, the Nehari manifold and LusternikSchnirelmann theory.

Abstract:To our knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to consider the stable solution and extremal solution for the fractional $p$-Laplacian equation: $(-\Delta)_p^s u= \lambda f(u),\; u> 0 ~\text{in}~\Omega;\; u=0\;\text{in}~ \mathbb{R}^N\setminus\Omega$, where $p>1$, $s\in (0,1)$, $N>sp$, $\lambda>0$ and $\Omega$ is a bounded domain with continuous boundary. We first construct the notion of stable solution, and then we prove that when $f$ is of class $C^1$, nondecreasing and such that $f(0)>0$ and $\underset{t\to \infty}{\lim}\frac{f(t)}{t^{p-1}}=\infty$, there exists an extremal parameter $\lambda^*\in (0, \infty)$ such that a bounded minimal solution $u_\lambda$ exists if $\lambda\in (0, \lambda^*)$, and no bounded solution exists if $\lambda>\lambda^*$, no $W_0^{s,p}(\Omega)$ solution exists if in addition $f(t)^{\frac{1}{p-1}}$ is convex. Moreover, this family of minimal solutions are stable, and nondecreasing in $\lambda$, therefore the extremal function $u^*:=\underset{\lambda\to\lambda^*}{\lim}u_\lambda$ exists.

Abstract:In this paper, we study qualitative properties of the fractional $p$-Laplacian. Specifically, we establish a Hopf type lemma for positive weak super-solutions of the fractional $p-$Laplacian equation with Dirichlet condition. Moreover, an optimal condition is obtained to ensure $(-\triangle)_p^s u\in C^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ for smooth functions $u$.

Abstract:We deal with the higher-order fractional Laplacians by two methods: the integral method and the system method. The former depends on the integral equation equivalent to the differential equation. The latter works directly on the differential equations. We first derive nonexistence of positive solutions, often known as the Liouville type theorem, for the integral and differential equations. Then through an delicate iteration, we show symmetry for positive solutions.

Abstract:In the paper, we study the following system of partial differential equations (PDEs) involving fractional Laplacian operators {(-Delta)(alpha/2) U = V-q, x is an element of R-+(n), (-Delta)(beta/2) V = U-p, x is an element of R-+(n), (1) under the boundary conditions u = 0, v = 0, x is an element of R-n\R-+(n), where p is an element of (1, n+beta/n-alpha], q is an element of (1, n+alpha/n-beta], 0 < alpha, beta < 2 and n >= 3. In order to overcome the difficulty that there are no corresponding maximum principles for the operators (-Delta)(alpha/2) and (-Delta)(beta/2) in R-+(n), we employ the method of moving planes in integral forms to the system of integral equations which is equivalent to System (1). Then, we obtain some Liouville type theorems for a pair of solutions (u, v) of System (1) under different assumptions.

Abstract:We use two variant fountain theorems to prove the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for the following fractional p-Laplace equation (-Delta)(p)(alpha)u + V (x)vertical bar u vertical bar(p-2)u = f (x, u), x is an element of R-N, where N >= 2, p >= 2, alpha is an element of (0,1), (-Delta)(p)(alpha) is the fractional p-Laplacian and f is either asymptotically linear or subcritical p-superlinear growth. Under appropriate assumptions on V and f, we prove the existence of infinitely many nontrivial high or small energy solutions. Our results generalize and extend some existing results.

Chen, Y. Li, and R. Zhang ("A direct method of moving spheres on fractional order equations," J. Funct. Anal. , vol. 272, pp. 4131â€“4157, 2017). In the half space, we establish a Liouville type theorem without any assumption of integrability by combining the direct method of moving planes and moving spheres, which improves the result proved by W. Dai, Z. Liu, and G. Lu ("Liouville type theorems for PDE and IE systems involving fractional Laplacian on a half space," Potential Anal. , vol. 46, pp. 569â€“588, 2017).

Abstract:This paper reports the investigation of eigenvalue problems for two classes of nonlinear fractional differential equations with generalized p-Laplacian operator involving both Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives and Caputo fractional derivatives. By means of fixed point theorem on cones, some sufficient conditions are derived for the existence, multiplicity and nonexistence of positive solutions to the boundary value problems.
