Abstract:We prove a Bernstein type theorem for ancient solutions to the mean curvature flow in higher codimension. More precisely, we show that for a complete ancient solution { M t } t ∈ ( − ∞ , 0 ) \{M_t\}_{t\in (-\infty ,0)} , if the mean curvature vector is uniformly bounded and the ω \omega -function for M t M_t satisfies ω ≥ ω 0 \omega \geq \omega _0 uniformly for some constant ω 0 > 1 2 \omega _0>\frac {1}{\sqrt {2}} , then M t M_t must be an affine subspace for each t ∈ ( − ∞ , 0 ) t\in (-\infty ,0) .

Abstract:In this short note we study Bernstein's type theorem of translating solitons whose images of their Gauss maps are contained in compact subsets in an open hemisphere of the standard $\mathbf{S}^n$ (see Theorem 1.1). As a special case we get a classical Bernstein's type theorem in minimal submanifolds in $\mathbf{R}^{n+1}$ (see Corollary 1.2).

The author obtains the estimates of the rate of the distance between two fixed points and the derivatives of the second fundamental form. Abstract:In this paper we study a contracting flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space ℝ^n+1 with speed f r^α K, where K is the Gauss curvature, r is the distance from the hypersurface to the origin, and f is a positive and smooth function. If α≥ n+1, we prove that the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly after normalisation to a soliton, which is a sphere centred at the origin if f ≡ 1. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in the smooth category for the classical Aleksandrov problem, and resolves the dual q-Minkowski problem introduced by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang (Acta Math. 216 (2016): 325-388), for the case q<0. If α < n+1, corresponding to the case q>0, we also establish the same results for even function f and origin-symmetric initial condition, but for non-symmetric f, counterexample is given for the above smooth convergence.

Abstract:Let Vn+1 be an (n + 1)-dimensional real vector space and (F) over tilde = (alpha) over tilde phi(s) s = (beta) over tilde/(alpha) over tilde, be all (alpha, beta)-metric, where (alpha) over tilde is an Euclidean metric and (beta) over tilde is a one form. Minimal surfaces with respect to the Busemann-Hausdorff measure and the Holmes-Thompson measure are called BH-minimal and HT-minimal surfaces, respectively. We give a Bernstein type theorem for minimal graphs in (Vn+1, (F) over tilde) with n <= 7. Let (F) over tilde (b) = (alpha) over tilde phi(s), s = (beta) over tilde/(alpha) over tilde, be a Minkowski metric with b := parallel to(beta) over tilde parallel to(alpha) over tilde. We use a PDE to characterize the BH-minimal and HT-minimal graph over any hyperplane containing the origin in (Vn+1, (F) over tilde (b)). Then we prove that this PDE is an elliptic equation of mean curvature type when b is an element of [0, is an element of) for sonic constant is an element of > 0 and give a Bernstein type theorem for BH-minimal surface in (V-3, (F) over tilde (b)). BH-minimal cones with an isolated singularity at the origin are also given.

Abstract:Let M n be a smooth, compact manifold without boundary, and F 0: M n → R n+1 a smooth immersion which is convex. The one-parameter families F(·, t): M n × [0, T) → R n+1 of hypersurfaces M t n = F(·, t)(M n ) satisfy an initial value problem dt/dF(·, t) = −H k (·, t)ν(·, t), F(·, 0) = F 0(·), where H is the mean curvature and ν(·, t) is the outer unit normal at F(·, t), such that −H ν = $\overrightarrow H $ is the mean curvature vector, and k > 0 is a constant. This problem is called H k -flow. Such flow will develop singularities after finite time. According to the blow-up rate of the square norm of the second fundamental forms, the authors analyze the structure of the rescaled limit by classifying the singularities as two types, i.e., Type I and Type II. It is proved that for Type I singularity, the limiting hypersurface satisfies an elliptic equation; for Type II singularity, the limiting hypersurface must be a translating soliton.

Abstract:Under the hypothesis of mean curvature flows of hypersurfaces, we prove that the limit of the smooth rescaling of the singularity is weakly convex. It is a generalization of the result due to G. Huisken and C. Sinestrari in [5]. These a-priori bounds are satisfied for mean convex hypersurfaces in locally symmetric Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative sectional curvature.

Abstract:In this paper we study the theory of self translating solitons of the mean curvature flow of immersed surfaces in the product space $\mathbb{H}^2\times\mathbb{R}$. We relate this theory to the one of manifolds with density, and exploit this relation by regarding these translating solitons as minimal surfaces in a conformal metric space. Explicit examples of these surfaces are constructed, and we study the asymptotic behaviour of the existing rotationally symmetric examples. Finally, we prove some uniqueness and non-existence theorems.

Abstract:We prove that any complete immersed two-sided mean convex translating soliton $\Sigma \subset \mathbb{R}^3$ for the mean curvature flow is convex. As a corollary it follows that an entire mean convex graphical translating soliton in $\mathbb{R}^3$ is the axisymmetric "bowl soliton". We also show that if the mean curvature of $\Sigma$ tends to zero at infinity, then $\Sigma$ can be represented as an entire graph and so is the "bowl soliton". Finally we classify all locally strictly convex graphical translating solitons defined over strip regions.

Abstract:It is known that there is no a Type I singularity for the Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class. In this paper, we study translating solitons which are important models of Type II singularities. A necessary condition for a blow-up limit arising at a Type II singularity of a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class is provided. As an application, we prove that the Lagrangian translating solitons constructed by Joyce-Lee-Tsui \cite{JLT} cannot be a blow-up limit for a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class, answering an open question proposed by Joyce-Lee-Tsui and Neves-Tian \cite{NT}, as well as we also prove that the Grim Reaper cannot be a blow-up limit for a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class.
