Abstract:In this short note we study Bernstein's type theorem of translating solitons whose images of their Gauss maps are contained in compact subsets in an open hemisphere of the standard $\mathbf{S}^n$ (see Theorem 1.1). As a special case we get a classical Bernstein's type theorem in minimal submanifolds in $\mathbf{R}^{n+1}$ (see Corollary 1.2).

Abstract:The expression of Wu's hydrodynamic soliton in a sloping trough was derived using the perturbation method of multiple scales. It showed that the soliton slowly moves toward the shallow end with uniform acceleration, which is consistent with Wu's experiment.

Abstract:We prove a local gradient estimate for positive eigenfunctions of $ \mathcal{L} $-operator on conformal solitons given by a general conformal vector field. As an application, we obtain a Liouville type theorem for $ \mathcal{L} u = 0 $, which improves the one of Li--Sun (Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.), 37(11): 1768--1782, 2021.). We also consider applications where manifolds are special conformal solitons. Especially in the case of self-shrinkers, a better Liouville type theorem is obtained.

Abstract:Seeking for the exact solutions of fractional nonlinear partial differential equations (FNPDE) has penetrated into almost every discipline of the natural, engineering, mathematics, and social sciences. In this article, with the aid of Maple software, using the (G′G2)-expansion method and the unified F-expansion method, we successfully investigate the exact solutions about conformable space–time fractional Boussinesq equation (FBE) and breaking soliton (Calogero) equation. Consequently, three types traveling wave solutions are found such as Jacobian double periodic elliptic, simply periodic and the rational function solutions. The (G′G2)-expansion and unified F-expansion methods are relatively complex, but we can find more solutions that have not been seen before. We give the some specific examples solutions such as double-periodic Jacobian elliptic functions which can be molted into single-periodic functions. Also we point the bridge linking among the Weierstrass elliptic, hyperbolic, trigonometric functions and Jacobian elliptic functions. The connection and distinction between these three formal solutions are also indicated in our paper.

Translating Solitons to a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class

Abstract:It is known that there is no a Type I singularity for the Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class. In this paper, we study translating solitons which are important models of Type II singularities. A necessary condition for a blow-up limit arising at a Type II singularity of a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class is provided. As an application, we prove that the Lagrangian translating solitons constructed by Joyce-Lee-Tsui \cite{JLT} cannot be a blow-up limit for a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class, answering an open question proposed by Joyce-Lee-Tsui and Neves-Tian \cite{NT}, as well as we also prove that the Grim Reaper cannot be a blow-up limit for a Lagrangian mean curvature flow with zero Maslov class.

Abstract:The main purpose of this article is to provide an alternate proof to a result of Perelman on gradient shrinking solitons. In dimension three we also generalize the result by removing the $\kappa$-non-collapsing assumption. In high dimension this new method allows us to prove a classification result on gradient shrinking solitons with vanishing Weyl curvature tensor, which includes the rotationally symmetric ones.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the nonlocal generalized Sasa-Satsuma (ngSS) equation based on an improved Riemann-Hilbert method (RHM). Different from the traditional RHM, the $t$-part of the Lax pair plays a more important role rather than the $x$-part in analyzing the spectral problems. So we start from the $t$-part of the spectral problems. In the process of dealing with the symmetry reductions, we are surprised to find that the computation is much less than the traditional RHM. We can more easily derive the compact expression of $N$-soliton solution of the ngSS equation under the reflectionless condition. In addition, the general high-order $N$-soliton solution of the ngSS equation is also deduced by means of the perturbed terms and limiting techniques. We not only demonstrate different cases for the dynamics of these solutions in detail in theory, but also exhibit the remarkable features of solitons and breathers graphically by demonstrating their 3D, projection profiles and wave propagations. Our results should be significant to understand the nonlocal nonlinear phenomena and provide a foundation for fostering more innovative research that advances the theory.

Abstract:The effect of nonlinear gradient terms on the pulsating, erupting and creeping solitons, respectively, of the cubic–quintic complex Ginzburg–Landau equation is investigated. It is found that the nonlinear gradient terms result in dramatic changes in the soliton behavior. They eliminate the periodicity of the pulsating and erupting solitons and transform them into fixed-shape solitons. This is important for potential use, such as to realize experimentally the undistorted transmission of femtosecond pulses in optical fibers. However, the nonlinear gradient terms cause the creeping soliton to breathe periodically at different frequencies on one side and spread rapidly on the other side.

Abstract:In this paper we extend existing results for generalized solitons, called $q$-solitons, to the complete case by considering non-compact solitons. By placing regularity conditions on the vector field $X$ and curvature conditions on $M$, we are able to use the chosen properties of the tensor $q$ to see that such non-compact $q$-solitons are stationary and $q$-flat. We conclude by applying our results to the examples of ambient obstruction solitons, Cotton solitons, and Bach solitons to demonstrate the utility of these general theorems for various flows.

New Volume Comparison Results and Volume Growth Rigidity of Gradient Ricci Almost Solitons

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a new volume comparison theorem for a complete manifold with a function $\rho(x)$ as the lower bound of the Bakry-Emery Ricci curvature. As applications, we obtain a new volume rigidity result of the gradient Ricci almost solitons. Furthermore, we extend the results of Cao and Zhou \cite{CZ} to shrinking gradient Ricci almost solitons and get the rigidity result with respect to the maximal volume growth.

Abstract:We use the Bernstein method to provide logarithmic gradient estimates and universal boundedness estimates for semilinear elliptic equations that satisfy the subcritical index condition. Our estimates are applicable to equations on Riemannian manifolds with (Bakry-Émery) Ricci curvature that is bounded below, and they are original for many concrete equations, even on Euclidean spaces that have been carefully investigated by numerous experts. Under the (Bakry-Émery) Ricci curvature bounded below condition, we establish relations among basic estimates, such as the universal boundedness estimate, logarithmic gradient estimate, and Harnack inequality. Under the (Bakry-Émery) Ricci curvature non-negative condition and certain mild assumptions, these estimates are $\kappa$-equivalent for any $\kappa>1$. As an application, we obtain optimal pointwise estimates and Liouville theorems for specific equations on Euclidean spaces.
