Abstract:A novel class of chiral glycosyl-triazole-based P,N ligands were synthesized by 'click chemistry' and were applied to the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrosilylation of a range of substituted acetophenones. Enantioselective hydrosilylation of acetophenone gave (S)-1-phenylethanol in moderate enantioselectivity (72% ee) and in good conversion (93%).

Abstract:AbstractThe prevalence ofC‐aryl glycosides in biologically active natural products and approved drugs has long motivated the development of efficient strategies for their selective synthesis. Cross‐couplings have been frequently used, but largely relied on palladium catalyst with prefunctionalized substrates, while ruthenium‐catalyzedC‐aryl glycoside preparation has thus far proven elusive. Herein, we disclose a versatile ruthenium(II)‐catalyzedmeta‐C−H glycosylation to accessmeta‐C‐aryl glycosides from readily available glycosyl halide donors. The robustness of the ruthenium catalysis was reflected by mild reaction conditions, outstanding levels of anomeric selectivity and exclusivemeta‐site‐selectivity.

Abstract:The trans addition of HSiEt3 to propargylic ethyl carbonates catalyzed by the ruthenium complex [Ru(C5Me5)(MeCN)(3)][PF6], 1, leads to H2C=C(SiEt3)CH(R)OCO2Et (R = H, Me, Pr-n, or Ph) derivatives as allylic substrates for Subsequent ruthenium-catalyzed nucleophilic allylic Substitution reactions. Ruthenium catalysts based on a [Ru(C5Me5)(2-quinolinecarboxylato)] or [Ru(C5Me5)(2,2'-bipyridine)](+) fragment are more efficient than 1 for access to various H2C=C(SiEt3)CH(R)Nufunctionalized vinylsilanes (R = H, Me; NuH = secondary amine, phenol, dimethylmalonate, methanol). New [Ru(C5Me5)(2-quinolinecarboxylato)(eta(3-)allyl)](+) cationic ruthenium(IV) intermediates are characterized, and experiments using a deuteriurn-labelcd allylic carbonate provide evidence for a regioselectivity arising from the presence of the 2-quinolinecarboxylato (N,O)-chelate.

Abstract:A ruthenium‐catalyzed C(sp2)–H acyloxylation of 2‐aroyl pyridine derivatives with simple sodium carboxylate utilizing transformable directing groups is described. This protocol features broad functional group tolerance and chemo‐ and regio‐selectivity, providing the acyloxylation products in 45%‐84%yield. Furthermore, the synthetic utility of this protocol was demonstrated by the late‐stage functionalization of pharmaceutical compounds. Notably, the acyloxylation products could be further transformed into a variety of useful heterocycles under mild conditions.

Abstract:A highly efficient asymmetric arylation of cyclic N-sulfonyl aldimines with arylboronic acids catalyzed by a rhodium/sulfur-olefin ligand complex under mild conditions is described. A wide range 4-aryl-3,4-dihydro-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine 2,2-dioxides were obtained in extremely high yields (93-99%) and high enantiomeric purities (97-99% ee).

Abstract:An efficient approach for the remote C-H alkylation of arenes, employing a variety of N-directing groups is described. This method facilitates the straightforward synthesis of valuable phenylethylamine derivatives by exclusively cleaving the benzylic C-N bond in aziridines. Furthermore, these products can easily remove the protecting groups, resulting in a variety of meta-substituted compounds, such as amines and ketones, which hold significance in synthetic chemistry.

Abstract:The allylation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and malononitrile with aliphatic allylic substrates is achieved under mild conditions in the presence of new ruthenium catalysts. The ruthenium complex [Ru(C5Me5)(2-quinolinecarboxylato)(CH2CHCH-n-Pr)] [BF4] as a precatalyst, allows the synthesis of mono-allylated branched derivatives. On the other hand, the parent complex [Ru(C5Me5)(MeCN)(3)] [PF6] as a precatalyst, straightforwardly favours the bis-allylation of the procarbonucleophiles leading to bis-allylated bislinear products. The involvement of the two precatalysts provides a sequential synthesis of unsymmetrical mixed linear-branched bis-allylated derivatives.

Abstract:A ruthenium-catalyzed method has been developed for the C(sp3 )-H monoborylation of various unactivated alkyl and aryl amides and challenging esters, with a low-cost and bench-stable boron source, providing boronates with exclusive selectivity, high efficiency, and high turnover number (up to 8900). This novel strategy may offer a versatile and environmentally friendly alternative to current methods for selective C(sp3 )-H borylation that employ even more expensive metals, such as iridium and rhodium.

Abstract:Radikalische Glykosyladditionsreaktionen sind gut erforscht und haben sich als eine effiziente Syntheseroute von C ‐Alkylglykosiden erwiesen. Jedoch sind mehrkomponentige Domino‐Transformationen, für einen schnellen und kontrollierbaren Aufbau strukturell diversifizierter C ‐Alkylglykoside, in einem einzigen Schritt, noch selten. Im Gegensatz dazu berichten wir hier über eine Ruthenium(II)‐katalysierte Domino‐ meta ‐C−H‐Ethylglykosylierung, welche die Herstellung anspruchsvoller meta ‐ C ‐Alkylglykoside ermöglicht. Unsere Ruthenium(II)‐Katalyse zeichnete sich durch milde Reaktionsbedingungen, ausschließlicher meta ‐Selektivität und einer hohen anomeren Selektivität aus. Darüber hinaus ermöglichte die Ruthenium(II)‐katalysierte Domino‐ meta ‐C−H‐Glykosylierung die Synthese vielseitiger 1,2‐ trans ‐ C ‐Alkylglykoside mit kommerziell erhältlichen Vinylarenen, Acrylaten und leicht zugänglichen Glykosylbromiden.

Abstract:The synthesis of a novel type of chiral spiro monophosphite-olefin (SMPO) ligands based on a hexamethyl-1,1'-spirobiindane scaffold was accomplished starting from Bisphenol C. The optimal ligand could serve as an elegant chiral bidentate ligand in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric 1,2-addition of organoboronic acids to various acyclic/cyclic aldimines, leading to chiral amines with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. Detailed stereochemical models for enantioselective induction were elucidated through DFT calculations and postulated the origins of the higher enantioselectivity of phosphite-olefin ligands.

Abstract:The oxidation of in situ generated Ru vinylidenes to ketenes is realized with tethered sulfoxides. The result is a Ru-catalyzed oxidative transformation of terminal alkynes to highly valuable ketenes. Moreover, the ketenes generated here were shown to undergo characteristic ketene [2+2] cycloaddition reactions with tethered alkenes and external imines, yielding synthetically versatile bicyclic cyclobutanones and β-lactams, respectively.

Abstract:This report describes the Ru(II)-catalyzed C-H allylation of N,N-dialkyl thiobenzamides with allyl carbonate. The reaction is carried out using [RuCl2(p-cym)]2 in the presence of Cu(OAc)2 and Ag2O. This method represents the first example of Ru-catalyzed C-H allylation directed by sulfur-containing groups. As a further advantage, the method is performed in sustainable and eco-friendly MeCN as a solvent.
