Study on Inhibition Behavior of Aluminum-Based Detergent

Abstract:The inhibition behavior of LY12 alloys in aluminum- based detergent solution which we had developed were studied by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. The results showed that the new aluminum- based detergent had obvious inhibiton effect on LY12 alloy,moreover,the corrosion rate was as high as 99. 5%. It showed that surfactant could slightly in- crease the inhibition only used with inhibitors. Besides,compared with domestic detergent under the same condition,the corrosion current density of the homemade one was lower. It indicated that the inhibition effect of homemade one upon carbon steel and gray cast iron was superior to the former. The observation of scanning electron microscope( SEM) also indicated that the LY12 alloy films presented no significant distinction before or after inhibiton.
