Abstract:In this article we provide a new model of IP-CATV/CAVT-IP gateway based on the Cyclone device and embedded soft processor Nios and introduce the conversion of IP data in Ethernet Network and TS data in CATV network by down broadcast transmission card based on Nios protocol stack and FPGA logic. Also we provide protocol stack model and FPGA logic timing.

Abstract:A scheme of embedded IP gateway based on SOPC is proposed for wideband satellite data communication.HDLC(High-level Data Link Control Procedures)is one of the most widely used Data-Link layer protocols in satellite data communication system.A high-speed HDLC IP CORE is designed and implemented on a single chip and an embedded linux software environment is set up.Compared to common scheme,this scheme is more flexible and efficient.The throughput of this scheme is also higher.The design idea,key point and the structure of both hardware and software of the proposed scheme is presented.A prototype of this scheme is given and it is proved that this prototype has high performance.

Abstract:Taking network layer testing function of IPTV analyzer as a research background, the overall design framework of the IPTV and the algorithm of network layer testing index in the IPTV are introduced. On the basis of the introduction, the solution of testing these indexs by IP traffic generator is also described. It analyses advanced masterslave mode ,efficient traffic generated algorithm and scheduling algorithm, and then gives the test results of the simulation. The test results show that the solution is clearly thought-out, stable and reliable. The solution has been implemented in IPTV analyzer and got good results.

Abstract:This paper introduces a Video on Demand system based on both CATV broadcasting channels and IP interactive network. CATV broadcasting channels are used for content transmission and IP network is used for control information transmission between Set Top Box and Headend Server. The control mechanism of whole system is designed and implemented according to DSM-CC protocol stacks. The paper narrates the end-to-end system diagram and VoD application software of Set Top Box. The system can be used in CATV network and provide VoD services for CATV subscribers.

Abstract:Networks, along with the explosive growth of the Internet, developed quickly and make our lives more convenient and efficient. However, at the same time, people will face much more network security problems such as illegal observation, modification, IP Spoofing, etc. This article proposes a novel type of universal software architecture named Fastpath which is purposely designed and optimized for Network Element (NE) in the Next Generation Networks (NGN), under Linux. Furthermore, it illustrates the experience in developing IPSec-based VPN gateway over IXP425, and offloading IPSec processing to NPEs and coprocessors by using APIs of software AccessLibrary through Open Crypto Framework (OCF). Finally, we investigate the performance issues both internally and externally. Through the benchmarks, we analyze the performance of the system and identify that Fastpath and network processor together can construct a universal and high-functional platform for NE which focuses on network processing.

Abstract:This paper presents a CATV based multicast file transfer system on top of ALC reliable multicast protocol,and also adjusts the work parameters of this system according to the characteristic of CATV.Based on this system,PC users can experience reliable file downloading at high speed with QoS assurance by access to the CATV network using DVB network interface.The system has already been implemented and successfully applied in practice.

Abstract:An efficient method of the implementation, verification and test about DVB common descrambling algorithm proposed, and especially it focuses on the reuse design of the IP Core. This IP Core can freely interconnect with multifarious bus architectures. The whole design is described with VHDL, synthesized and verified not only on the FPGA of Altera but also on CE66 library of Fujustu. The final core implementation using CE66 library of Fujustu can work at a data rate up to 1. 7024 Gbps (212.8MHz).

Abstract:In order to satisfy different application requirements, DVB demultiplexer chip needs a flexible architecture to easily add or remove functional components. In this paper, MPEG-2 protocol related to demultiplexing is analyzed and implemented mainly with one FPGA (APEX 20K400E) based on a system-on-a-programmable chip (SOPC) architecture. The components include but not limit to PID filter, TS demultiplexer, tuner controller and IP parser. Their interfaces connected with on-chip bus are specified by Altera Avalon protocol, which is compatible with Nios CPU. We briefly introduce the demultiplexer system's hardware architecture, working process and designing considerations to reach the fullest potential of FPGA. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can provide us flexibility and shorter time-to-market.

Abstract:In this paper, the design approach of IP-based Net Camera (IPCAM) powered by Linux OS and a Realtime Mo- tion-JPG Encoder is described. The detail implementation of IPCAM is also been addressed from aspects of hardware frame- work, software design and client. The design methodology of lPCAM's hardware abstract layer makes it easy to migrate to other hardware platform. Compared with analog video camera, IPCAM facilitates Ethernet for video transmission, which a- voids signal fades and provides high efficient vet economical remote surveillance solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a VLSI design of transport processor for an AVS HDTV decoder SoC. The design provides a flexible data flow, which supports both broadcasting service and IPTV service with DVR capability. The design is characterized by two-bus architecture, in which a RISC CPU is used for control of general purpose and some dedicated hardware for accelerating data processing. The common on-chip SRAM is used to store input transport packets and the intermediate result in order to improve system performance and reduce the area. The design is described in Verilog HDL, simulated with VCS simulator, and implemented using 0.18 mum CMOS cell library. The circuit costs about 75 k equivalent logic gates and the processing capability is up to 90 Mbps

Abstract:Based on Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS two kinds of bus protocol,dual-channel industrial CT data transmission system is designed.Digital signals from data acquisition module are respectively sent to an external network or IPC through Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS.The two protocols can communicate with each other between the increase system utilization.For existing similar systems integration is not high status,designs using SOPC technology in the soft IP core and hard IP core co-design,making the whole system can be realized in the on-chip.Soft-core use of Altera's Nios II processor introduced in the design process used and some of their own custom components,the preparation of Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS transceiver drivers,and completed a data flow processor inside protocols conversion.More modern design of similar systems in the integration and reliability are much improved.After tested,the system functions to meet the transmission requirements of industrial CT,dual-channel working properly,and the node can be used as Gigabit Ethernet applications in industrial control computer.

Abstract:New protocols and architectures for next generation Internet is an important part of current network research. Experimental verification based on physical equipment is the main approach to examine the feasibility and performance of the new technologies. With concerns of that software and traditional network facility based verification methods have some disadvantages. This paper proposes a device design solution to support network innovation experiment. Based on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA), decoupling the data plane, control plane and using high performance network and storage modules, this paper can achieve the goals required by network innovation studies such as reprogrammability, high performance, flexibility of control and management, implements the design on TNIP network processing card. Experimental results show that TNIP can handle up to 16 Gb/s network traffic and can be used to deploy network innovation experiments.

Abstract:Software Radio is a kind of promising technology in today and future's communication systems. To share the resources of software radio systems to a large extent, we need to connect the instruments through backbone networks, such as the Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP), which is a dominating network technology that adopts both telecom and datacom traffic into existing transport infrastructures - Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH). Virtual concatenation (VCAT) is one of the key technologies in MSTP. Compared with traditional contiguous concatenation, VCAT reduces transmission granularities, provides more flexibility to Network Management System (NMS) and as a result, improves the network efficiency greatly. In this paper, we introduce our design and implementation of VCAT module for a MSTP ASIC. The procedure of theoretical analysis to determine several important performance related parameters is also discussed in detail. The overall design has been thoroughly simulated and verified through our self-made FPGA board, and has been successfully applied in our MSTP ASICs. We believe our work is significant for future development of software radio technology.

Abstract:In order to secure the network, IP reassembly is needed on every IDS/IPS. Because the software-implementation could not run at a high speed, the processing of IP reassembly should be implemented in hardware. In this paper, we implemented an FPGA-based IP reassembly module. It solved the bottleneck problem that most IDS/IPS had met, and it also provided a mechanism to be aware of the attacks that had been launched by hackers using the vulnerability of IP fragmentation and reassembly. The design was verified on an Altera FPGA using QuatusII to synthesize and floor plan. It can achieve a throughput of 2.5Gb/s. And it is character-ized as low cost and high scalability.

Abstract:In this paper, a functional model of SystemC-Based MPEG-2 decoder is presented, which is of heterogeneous multi-IP-cores and hybrid-interconnections. Considering the application-specific features into the design flow, three important aspects are analyzed, including function partition, parameter sharing, and interconnection topology, which are the key technical difficulties in the system level design of a video decoder. A kind of function unit determination is proposed on account of the balance of traffic load on the communication sub-system onchip. At the same time, to be able to charge with the heavy transmission burden, a hybrid interconnection with bus and point-to-point (P2P) is applied. Additionally, in order to enhance the decoder performance, high-frequently transmitted and updated parameters are extracted to store in on-chip shared memories. The presented application-specific architecture is proofed to be efficient with a system level model on SystemC-based environments. More, the topology and design flow would be a guideline for the design of such application-specific Systemon-Chip (SoC), and set up a quick evaluation method. ©2009 IEEE.

Abstract:HINOC (High Performance Network over Coax) is a coaxial cable network access system self-developed by China. In this paper, we discuss the software architecture of an embedded test device designed for it. The device integrates the functions of modem and terminal to help to solve the network problem. The software uses the hierarchical model to realize its multiple functions. The test results show that the design of device has a good performance.
