Abstract:According to the fact that the process of numerical simulation on oneway fluid-structure interac- tion of fluid-filled pipeline is complex, and the data transferred in calculation is not exact, a simulation pro- gram has been compiled using C＋ q- language to automatically implement the model building, fluid calcu- lation and structure analysis, with which the automation of numerical simulation on one-way fluid-struc- ture interaction of fluid-filled pipeline is realized, and the authenticity of the data transferring is ensured. The calculation results of this program are verified by relevant experimental data in references. Taking the drain pipeline in a power plant as an ob}ect of study, numerical simulation is performed on the one-way flu- id-structure interaction, including automatically building the pipeline model, simulating the pressure distri bution of fluid inside the pipeline and analyzing the stress in the pipeline by introducing fluid pressure data to the calculation. Calculation results show that the program previously compiled is accurate in calculation and facile in operation, which is therefore suitable for design, retrofit and risk prediction of fluid filled pipeline.

Abstract:A steel reinforced plastic pipe (PSP), which is composed of two layers of high density polyethylene (HDPE) matrix and a high strength steel wire mesh skeleton, has wide applications in many industrial areas, such as gas and petroleum transportation, etc. In order to achieve higher efficency and lower costs, a large diameter PSP has been developed. However, requirements of the large diameter PSP in safety and economy are much higher, compared with those small diameter PSPs, and some potential problems should be taken into account. In this paper, relevant structural parameters of the large diameter PSP are determined, based on a previously proposed model, and a short-term burst test is carried out. The experiment results agree with the theoretical results quite well. Subsequently, the resistance of vertical pressure and uniform external pressure are evaluated by using experiment investigation and finite element method, respectively. And corresponding results indicate the large diameter PSP with determined structural parameters is qualified to use.

Abstract:Pipeline transport is the major means for large‐scale and long‐distance CO 2 transport in a CO 2 capture and sequestration (CCS) project. But optimal design of the pipeline network remains a challenging problem, especially when considering allocation of intermediate sites, like pump stations, and selection of pipeline routes. A superstructure‐based mixed‐integer programming approach for optimal design of the pipeline network, targeting on minimizing the overall cost in a CCS project is presented. A decomposition algorithm to solve the computational difficulty caused by the large size and nonlinear nature of a real‐life design problem is also presented. To illustrate the capability of our models. A real‐life case study in North China, with 45 emissions sources and four storage sinks, is provided. The result shows that our model and decomposition algorithm is a practical and cost‐effective method for pipeline networks design. © 2014 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J , 60: 2442–2461, 2014

Abstract:The proper utilization of wastes for combined heat and power (CHP) is a powerful measure for energy saving, emission reduction, and environment improvement. The support of a gas pipeline is composed of movable support and fixed support, which is old reconstruction and new addition of the pipeline. Its spatial configuration is complex and its stiffness changes greatly. The static and dynamic mechanical properties of the pipeline support were analyzed based on SAP2000 software. The results show that the stability of the pipeline support meets the requirements and has a certain safety reserve.

Abstract:Abstract The traditional electromechanical design using two-dimensional drawings conveys information that is relatively abstract, which means simple profiles and elevation drawings can’t reflect the three-dimensional effect of the pipeline. And that will cause some problems such as collisions during the construction process, disordered pipeline layout, and unreasonable space utilization. As a three-dimensional design technology, BIM can solve the above problems well. This paper describes the deepening and construction methods of pipe comprehensive based on BIM technology in detail. On the basis of refined modeling, combined with on-site construction experience and the comprehensive layout specifications of various professional pipelines, NAVISWORKS is used for collision detection, which is carried out with the designer and the builder, and the optimization of the original design drawings of the project. The deepened model can be used directly to guide on-site construction, that can reflect the important application value of BIM technology in electromechanical engineering.

Abstract:Nowadays, the demand for architecture by the public is not only a living, but also an increase in comfort and safety requirements, and more attention is paid to the design of water supply and drainage works for buildings.In recent years, the rapid development of the economy, whether it is urban or township, the degree of housing community is getting higher and higher, people's requirements for the water supply and drainage function of the building are also constantly improving, which gives the water supply and drainage project a broader development space.In this paper, the nine-story building in a certain district is taken as the research object, and the design analysis is carried out according to the relevant data of the building and the living needs of the residents to verify the feasibility.According to the four parts of water supply, drainage, fire protection and rainwater drainage, the water supply and drainage project of the building is analyzed, and the construction points are briefly given.It can effectively improve the design level and quality of the water supply and drainage system of the building, and facilitate the use of domestic water for residents.

Abstract:In order to overcome the deficiencies of traditional design methods in general layout of pipeline engineering,the building information modeling (BIM) has been incorporated into general layout design.On the basis of the collaborative design of Civil 3D and Infraworks which are developed with BIM,data from all stages (e.g.planning,design,construction and operation) is imported into the 3D model,so that precise and complete data could be available for the operating staff when they use the model during the whole life cycle of the engineering project.This collaborative design method was applied to the general layout design of an oil depot.It is shown that the designers can get rid of trivial and superfluous design modification and concentrate morn attention on the design itself.Moreover,the design results are shown in three dimension.In this way,the design results can be displayed in WYSIWYG format.It provides a valuable reference for the innovation and development of general layout design in the oil and gas storage and transportation engineering in the future.

Abstract:Climate change and urbanization contribute to the increased frequency of short-duration intense rainstorms. Traditional solutions often involve multiple scenarios for cost-effectiveness comparison, neglecting the rationality of placement conditions. The effective coupling and coordination of the location, number, size, and cost of storage tanks are crucial to addressing this issue. A three-phase approach is proposed to enhance the dynamic link between drainage pipeline and storage tanks in urban high-density built-up areas, integrating Python language, SWMM, the Elitist Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-III), and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. In the first stage, each node within the pipeline network is considered as a potential storage tank location. In the second stage, factors such as the length and diameter of the upstream connecting pipeline, as well as the suitability of the storage tank location, are assessed. In the third stage, the length and diameter of the downstream connecting pipeline node are evaluated. The results show that the 90 overflow nodes (overflow time >0.5h) have been cleared using the three-phase approach with a 50a (duration = 3h) return period as the rainfall scenario, which meets the flooding limitations. After the completion of the three-phase method configuration, the total overflow and SS loads were reduced by 96.45% and 49.30%, respectively, compared to the status quo conditions. These two indicators have decreased by 48.16 and 9.05%, respectively, compared to the first phase (the traditional method of only replacing all overflow nodes with storage tanks). The proposed framework enables decision-makers to evaluate the acceptability and reliability of the optimal management plan, taking into account their preferences and uncertainties.

Abstract:Submarine pipe-in-pipe flowline have become a common pipeline arrangement to achieve a significant thermal insulation capacity. A pipe-in-pipe system generally contains four structural components: jacket pipe, carrier pipe, spacers and bulkheads. Global response of the system depends on both the behaviour of each constituent part and interactions between them. Existing design approaches to consider this system are either too simplistic resulting in loss of accuracy or significantly complicated Finite Element Analysis demanding expensive highly skilled manpower. This paper proposes cost effective design methods which provide accurate prediction with minimum increase in modelling complexity through simplified Finite Element Analysis models. Pipe-in-pipe system S-lay, thermal expansion and spool arrangement design have been investigated. ABAQUS or AutoPIPE based methods have been proposed to cover each application and excellent performance has been observed. In addition to cost-effectiveness, ABAQUS based method for S-lay is able to capture twisting and residual stresses which are generally ignored by traditional approach but important in deep-water applications.

Abstract:With the development of The Times, people's demands on the pipeline system are higher and higher. There are more and more pipeline types, and the design of pipeline engineering becomes more and more complex. Therefore, the use of CAD and other software for pipeline engineering design is gradually unable to meet the growing demand. Especially in today's more and more complex pipeline design, pipeline design is always met with problems such as collision or intersection, and the design of two-dimensional software makes these problems a little helpless. However, with the introduction of BIM technology, BIM technology is a technology that can build three-dimensional models and share and transmit architectural information, and is applicable to the entire life cycle of buildings. This paper mainly discusses the application of building water supply and drainage pipeline design based on BIM technology, in order to provide systematic theoretical guidance for follow-up researchers.
