Abstract:Asphalt pavement with semi-rigid base is the major structure adopted in the new built highway and municipal roads in China. So as to reduce the unfavorable impact on the rehabilitation of municipal roads which require quick resumption of traffic, better base materials should be adopted. If a pavement base fails, the flexible base, i.e. large stone asphalt mixture (LSAM), should be employed in the pavement rehabilitation practice. Focusing on the practice pavement sections using LSAM as base in Hangzhou municipal roads, the effect factors of subgrade modulus, base modulus and base thickness on surface deflection and bending strain in base bottom is analyzed. That work is done through finite element method of software BISAR3.0. The results provide a practice reference for municipal roads rehabilitation needing to open traffic early.
Study on Low Noise Asphalt Pavement Mixture Design

Abstract:To study the methods of the low-noise asphalt pavement mixture mix design,the paper design used gradation and optimum asphalt content as the two main design specifications of low-noise asphalt pavement mixture design.The search used the table as aggregate grading design and determined the best asphalt content by comparative analysis of theoretical calculations,flow test and asphalt fell tests.The results showed that:Mixture of air voids resulted in using the table had a good linear correlation with target air void.The way of determining the best asphalt content using flow test is more consistent with actual project and easy to spread.

Abstract:In order to investigate the effect of the coarse and fine aggregate on asphalt mixture homogeneity,based on the index of asphalt mixture homogeneity and as an example of AC-16,the effects of the aggregates retained on the 4.75 mm sieve and on the 2.36 mm sieve are respectively studied on asphalt mixture homogeneity.Results show that whether from the view of the index of asphalt mixture homoge-neity or variation of mechanical performance of asphalt mixtures,aggregate gradation influences asphalt mixture homogeneity,and it is more obvious that the aggregates retained on the 4.75 mm sieve influence asphalt mixture homogeneity than retained on the 2.36 mm sieve.

Abstract:The acceleration of urbanization has promoted the increase in the number of urban highway projects, resulting in an increase of emphasis on the quality of urban highway projects. The quality and safety of highway construction directly affects the driving comfort, safety, and service life after it is put into operation. Among them, asphalt pavement is an important structure in highway construction, and it is also a key link that directly affects the construction quality. In order to ensure the quality of construction, it is necessary to strengthen on-site testing during the construction process to discover problems in time, and to ensure that the construction is up to standard. This paper mainly presents an analysis on the necessity and application of on-site quality inspection technology for asphalt pavement construction of highway engineering, and outlines measures to improve highway engineering construction testing technology.

Abstract:In the conditions of the rainy climate and heavy traffic,the AC -20C mixes design and construction quality of base course are not satisfactory,the asphalt pavement cause rutting,water damage and other diseases easily.This article basis on the existing specification and Superpave,first through design S - graded to improve the uniformity of construction,Second through APA,dynamic water pressure to test temperature and water stability,last through the SGC to test compaction,then analysis the ratio of asphalt binder and aggregate composite.Use non - destructive testing instrument such as non - nuclear density gauge,laser structures instrument to improve the uniformity of construction quality inspection during construction.Practice in project shows that the results are satisfactory.

Abstract:Quality and life of asphalt concrete pavement construction are the most importanttechnology question in the expressway construction. Nearly all kinds of early damage to asphalt pavements result from the wrong construction method or the poor management system. Thus, it is very important to do research on the total quality management system of asphalt concrete pavement construction. It must have a wide future and it is also helpful to build our own expressway quality management system of asphalt pavement construction. A method which is tried to build a total quality management system of asphalt construction on about 400 km expressway is discussed in this paper. The model and the approach to build the total quality management system of asphalt construction are also discussed.

Abstract:The application of emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology in highways is still in the initial stage in China,so the uniform design standard has not been established yet.In this paper,gradation of asphalt mixture is designed using CAVF method and the asphalt content is estimated.The optimum asphalt-aggregate ratio is determined based on indoor molded Marshall specimen and water resistance property of the designed mixture is verified by hydrodynamic test to improve pavement performance through construction quality control,which can serve as a reference for design and application of emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology.

Abstract:With the continuous development of domestic highway construction, highway civil engineering and servicelevel quality have attracted much attention. Good pavement quality and high-quality service make people feel comfortable and smooth when traveling. High-quality pavement can significantly reduce the probability of traffic accidents. At present, there is a direct relationship between pavement quality and pavement construction operations. Carrying out pavement construction operations in cold high-altitude areas requires a reasonable selection of construction equipment and methods. The application of warm-mix asphalt pavement construction technology can ensure pavement quality. Therefore, this paper analyzes the advantages of warm-mix technology, the environmental characteristics of cold high-altitude areas, and construction preparations, and discusses the construction technology of warm-mix asphalt pavement in cold high-altitude areas in detail, to improve the overall road quality of cold high-altitude areas.
