Abstract:A novel protocol for the facile synthesis of chiral 3-substituted 1,3,4,5-tetrahydrobenzo[e] [1,4]diazepin-2-ones via a domino reaction has been developed, which involves a cascade of S(N)2 nucleophilic substitution and copper-catalyzed C-N coupling reactions of a-amino acid amides and orthohalobenzyl halides. This protocol has some merits, such as one-pot process, easy operation, a wide scope of substrates. Furthermore, no heavy racemization occurs during the reaction.

Abstract:A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed method for the synthesis of tetrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinolines has been developed. The protocol uses readily available substituted 5-(2-halophenyl)-1H-tetrazoles and alkynes as the starting materials and inexpensive copper(i) iodide as the catalyst. The domino reaction underwent sequential copper-catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling and intramolecular addition of the NH from a tetrazole group to an internal alkyne. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Abstract:An efficient copper-catalyzed approach to quinazolinone derivatives has been developed, and the protocol uses cheap and readily available substituted 2-halobenzamides and (aryl)methanamines as the starting materials as well as economical and environmentally friendly air as the oxidant. This can be the first example of constructing N-heterocycles via sequential Ullmann-type coupling under air and aerobic oxidative C-H amidation.

Abstract:A copper‐catalyzed cyclization of alkynyl bromides and oxazolidine‐2‐thiones is described. C−N and C−S bonds are simultaneously constructed and a multi‐step process occurred to give the five‐member heterocycles of thiazol‐2‐ones containing 2‐alkylthio‐oxazolines. Optically active oxazolidine‐2‐thiones undergo the cyclization with complete retention of configuration.

Abstract:A silver catalyzed domino reaction of N-cyanamide alkenes and 1,3-dicarbonyls including 1,3-diketones and ethyl acetoacetate has been developed for the facile synthesis of quinazolinones. In the presence of AgNO3/K2S2O8, the diketones could be converted to radicals and coupled with N-cyanamide alkenes to undergo a cyclization cascade for accessing quinazolinones. This method features mild reaction conditions, readily available starting materials, and valuable synthetic utility. Moreover, the products could be further transformed into various heterocycles.
