Abstract:A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed method for the synthesis of tetrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinolines has been developed. The protocol uses readily available substituted 5-(2-halophenyl)-1H-tetrazoles and alkynes as the starting materials and inexpensive copper(i) iodide as the catalyst. The domino reaction underwent sequential copper-catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling and intramolecular addition of the NH from a tetrazole group to an internal alkyne. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

The domino process underwent Ullmann-type N-arylation, decarboxylation, aerobic oxidation, and intramolecular addition. This method should provide a new and useful strategy for construction of N-heterocycles.

Abstract:A copper-catalyzed three-component coupling sequence for 2-arylquinolines formation from aromatic aldehydes, anilines and 1,4-dioxane has been described. Unexpectedly, 1,4-dioxane served as a C 2 building block in this transformation. This formal [4 + 2] approach provides rapid access to 2-arylquinolines with broad substrate scope under mild conditions.

Abstract:An efficient copper-catalyzed approach to quinazolinone derivatives has been developed, and the protocol uses cheap and readily available substituted 2-halobenzamides and (aryl)methanamines as the starting materials as well as economical and environmentally friendly air as the oxidant. Abstract:An efficient and practical method for the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazolo[5,1-b]quinazolin-9(3H)-ones has been developed via the copper-catalyzed domino reactions of readily available substituted N-acetyl-2-bromobenzohydrazides with cyanamide. The protocol uses inexpensive CuI as the catalyst, and no other ligand or additive was required. Abstract:A copper‐catalyzed cyclization of alkynyl bromides and oxazolidine‐2‐thiones is described. C−N and C−S bonds are simultaneously constructed and a multi‐step process occurred to give the five‐member heterocycles of thiazol‐2‐ones containing 2‐alkylthio‐oxazolines. Optically active oxazolidine‐2‐thiones undergo the cyclization with complete retention of configuration.

Abstract:A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed cascade method for the synthesis of quinazoline derivatives has been developed. The protocol uses readily available substituted (2-bromophenyl)methylamines and amidine hydrochlorides as the starting materials, inexpensive CuBr as the catalyst, and economical and environment friendly air as the oxidant, and the corresponding quinazoline derivatives were obtained in moderate to good yields. The procedure underwent sequential intermolecular N-arylation, intramolecular nucleophilic substitution and aerobic oxidation.
