Abstract:CuCl-catalyzed cyclization dimerization reactions of 3-cyclo-propylideneprop-2-en-1-ones provide an interesting route to benzofuran-7(3aH)-one derivatives with one highly strained three-membered ring and one four-membered ring via intramolecular cycloisomerization, sequential bimolecular [4 + 2] cycloaddition, opening of the oxa-bridge, and ring contraction. Furthermore, the reaction was monitored by NMR experiments to unveil some key intermediates.

Abstract:A novel protocol for the facile synthesis of chiral 3-substituted 1,3,4,5-tetrahydrobenzo[e] [1,4]diazepin-2-ones via a domino reaction has been developed, which involves a cascade of S(N)2 nucleophilic substitution and copper-catalyzed C-N coupling reactions of a-amino acid amides and orthohalobenzyl halides. This protocol has some merits, such as one-pot process, easy operation, a wide scope of substrates. Furthermore, no heavy racemization occurs during the reaction.

Abstract:An alternative route has been developed for the construction of multisubstituted pyrrole derivatives from readily available, doubly activated cyclopropanes and anilines using an iron-mediated oxidation domino reaction (i.e., sequential ring-opening, cyclization, and dehydrogenation reactions). This reaction uses readily available reactants and is tolerant of a broad range of substrates, with the desired products being formed in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:In one easy step, doubly activated cyclopropanes 1 can be transformed into furoquinoline derivatives 2 through a tandem ring-opening/recyclization reaction mediated by SnCl4⋅5 H2O. A variety of substrates 1 derived from cheap starting materials were converted into the corresponding furoquinolines in good to excellent yields with high chemo- and regioselectivity.
