Abstract:The application situation of materials used for automobile lightening design was introduced including aluminum alloys,magnesium alloys,high strength iron and steel,and other materials.The main development tendency of materials used for automobile lightening design was analyzed,including the production techniques of alloy materials such as the thin-wall high strength gray irons,ductile irons,vermicular irons,aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys,the casting formation techniques of light alloys.The automobile lightening promoted the blending and intersection of multiple processing techniques,and by adopting the mixed structure design of multiple materials,the combination of processing techniques and integration of parts and assemblies structure,it is possible in maximum degree to satisfy the high performance properties requirement of the automobile parts and assemblies.

Abstract:It has been the core problem for the development of automotive industry to lighten automotive, decrease fuel consumption and reduce pollution of discharge gas. The lightweight materials are very important for lightening auto-body. In the present study, with the new style passenger car as the prototype, when using aluminum alloy to replace 11 typical auto-body parts, the total weight can be reduced 53.1kg and the lightweight effect is 64.5%. According to the crash simulation, compared the deformation of entire car, the crash force to the rigid wall, velocities, accelerations, and energy-absorbing ability of main parts, the results of crashworthiness simulation verified the feasibility of the proposed method.

Abstract:Due to increasing challenges on carbon emissions, there is increased demand for more fuel economic vehicles; weight reduction, an attractive strategy for increasing fuel efficiency, has become prevalent in automobile design. This paper provides a review on weaved carbon fiber composites, long fiber carbon fiber composites, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, and glass fiber composites. They are assessed on strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and processing difficulty, to determine whether they can be used in lightweight automobile components. Numerous methods can be used to enhance the mechanical properties and ease of processing of these materials, to make them more appropriate for use. However, the materials all have their specific downsides like high weight, difficulties in processing, low corrosion resistance, or poor fatigue properties. We concluded that the materials are suitable for usage in automotives after undergoing specific Manufacturers should consider the relevance of these advantages and disadvantages to the application of materials in specific parts of the automobile.

Abstract:Abstract The lightweight production technology of automobiles is the mainstream technology of automobile production in the world today. As a far-sighted world power, domestic automobile manufacturers will attach great importance to the combination of lightweight production technology of automobiles with their own automobile production. The lightweight production of automobiles can not only complete the efficient operation of automobile engines and reduce automobile exhaust emissions, but also achieve the goal of energy saving, emission reduction, green and sustainable development. This article will analyze the core content of the lightweight production technology of automobiles, and make appropriate adjustments based on the functional requirements of the production vehicles. The author hopes that while ensuring that the structural design and material usage of the car meet market standards, it also reasonably controls costs and increases revenue. This article will focus on the analysis of the development status of automotive lightweight production and welding production technology, and put forward reasonable suggestions.

Abstract:The service life of rails would be remarkably reduced owing to the increase of axle load, which can induce the occurrence of damages such as cracks, collapse, fat edges, etc. Laser cladding, which can enhance the mechanical properties of the rail by creating a coating, has received great attention in the area of the rails due to the attractive advantages such as low input heat, small heat-affected zone, and small deformation. In this paper, recent developments in the microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of a cladded layer on the rail are reviewed. The method of process optimization for enhancing the properties of a cladded layer are discussed. Finally, the trend of future development is forecasted.

Abstract:With the continuous development of EMU technology, the role of light rail trains in cities is becoming more and more important. A good overall light environment is of great significance for the safe and efficient operation of light rail trains. This experiment is based on the purpose of exploring the evaluating the train light environment method. In this study, we adopted the method of first using optical software DIALux and TracePro simulation, then conducting physical test and subsequent ergonomics experimental verification. By comparing the simulation results with the experimental results, we gave the suggestion about the final evaluation of the train light environment. It is hoped that the results of this study will provide a scientific method and basis for the design of the light environment of the train cab and passenger compartment in the future.

Abstract:This paper develops a novel approach for the lightweight design of a car body frame. In this approach, the cross-sectional dimensions of a car body frame are treated as design variables. First, sampling points are created based on Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS), and then Design of Experiment (DOE) is conducted. After that, an analysis is done to obtain those design variables affect the results most. Finally, Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) is utilized to solve the optimization problem while the amount of design variables is reduced according to the former analysis. The advantage of this method is that it reduces the burden of optimization algorithms and offers a practical way for the lightweight design of a car body frame.

Abstract:In this paper, aiming at high-end stainless steel subway products, a new product of stainless steel rail vehicles manufactured by using thin plate lap laser welding instead of resistance spot welding was first developed in China, which made the stainless steel car body structure more optimized, and the welding quality and manufacturing process of its car body steel structure were significantly improved, and advanced stainless steel vehicles entered the high-end vehicle market. Therefore, this paper develops the laser welding process of stainless steel car body, optimizes the process parameters, defines the weld quality standard and develops the weld quality monitoring device, builds the laser welding manufacturing system, and realizes the batch application of the new laser welding technology in high-end stainless steel rail vehicle products. At present, it has formed the world's leading batch production capacity of high-end stainless steel vehicle products and improved the competitiveness of the company at home and abroad.

Abstract:As part of the circular economy solutions in contemporary mobility and transportation, the light weighting trends in automobiles are evaluated. These tendencies are driven by concerns about sustainability, cost, and performance, and they result in a high demand for lightweight materials and design ideas. The cutting-edge techniques that aim beyond the simple weight loss and cowl additionally the structural performance in addition to the financial and environmental effect are defined with an essence of suggestions for substance choice with a green approach, substitution rules, and a paradigm of multi-fabric layout. The development of "lightweight steel," conventional aluminum, and magnesium alloys, along with tried-and-true methods of component manufacturing and cutting-edge approaches, is given special attention. As internal combustion engines give way to electric cars, both of these features are undergoing adjustment. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of light weighting are examined, along with methods for accomplishing its objectives via structural engineering, such as metal-matrix composites, laminates, sandwich structures, and bionic-stimulated archetypes.
