Abstract:A transfer system in roving-spinning unit that establishes a connection between spindles of roving frame and spinning frame achieves the manipulations automatically in spinning workshop. We study that ISIGHT drive ANSYS to conduct integrated optimization of the key conveyor system components in this paper, the ANSYS-ISIGHT integration is successful. Before the optimal design, using the Latin method to design experiments. The experimental design can show the degree that the state variables and the target variables are affected by each input factor. The factor that has little impact on the results can be removed, thus the efficiency of the optimization can be improved. After the experimental design, using the multi-objective neural network to optimize the beam. Giving the beam safety conditions, including intensity, toughness, modal, stability. We optimize the structure base on security conditions, the volume of the beam in roving and yarn reservoir area has been largely decreased. Achieving the objectives of the lightweight design.

Abstract:As to the increase instead of decrease of fuzzy yarn after winding process,analysis is done to the factors involved with fuzzy yarn.Conclusion is made that fuzzy yarn in winding process is related with variety,performance and operation of winding machines.Winding machines 1332 and GA013 are advantageous over auto-winding machines in less fuzzy yarn.Fuzzy yarn must be be reduced from the bobbin yarn,and measures taken to properly select drag washers,devil catchers,yarn guiding,blow-up ring,balloon controller,balloon blower clearrance as to their specifications.And more,new backset nozzles,new blow-up rings and guiding wheels are indispensable.

Abstract:Flange wrinkling is one of the most common defects in conventional spinning. A lot of work has been done to find the reason for the flange wrinkling and the way to avoid it. However, the theoretical prediction of flange wrinkling is limited for the non-uniformly distributed stresses and complicated boundary conditions of the flange. In this paper, a FE (Finite element) model is established to study the deformation characteristic of the material in conventional spinning, two stable compressive stress rings distributed at the middle surface of the formed part are found, and the outer stress ring distributed at the flange is considered to be the key factor of flange wrinkling. A theoretical flange wrinkling prediction method is proposed based on the plastic buckling theory and the energy method with the boundary conditions extracted from the FE simulation results. Experiments are designed to research the flange wrinkling phenomenon and verify the proposed theoretical flange wrinkling prediction method. At last, effects of feed ratio on flange wrinkling are analyzed by this method, it is concluded that the decrease of the circumferential compressive stresses distributed in the flange caused by low feed ratio reduces the risk of flange wrinkling.

Abstract:Textile Research Journal, Ahead of Print. In accordance with the tenets of displacement deviation theory, the distribution of accelerating positions was the main reason for the uneven output sliver. To elucidate this phenomenon, a dynamic drafting model with controllable fiber proportion was developed in this paper to simulate the accelerating process of the floating fiber. The model was employed to investigate the impact of the friction field on the distribution of accelerating positions, achieved through the manipulation of friction field distribution and fiber proportion in the drafting zone. The simulation results indicated that, with various drafting conditions, the friction field at the position with a higher slow fiber proportion always made the accelerating position distribution closer to the front roller. In addition, the duration of the friction field influence on the fiber floating process was found to be directly proportional to its effect on the accelerating position distribution. Furthermore, there was a critical slow fiber proportion, which increased in tandem with the augmentation of slow fiber proportions in the drafting zone. The friction field at the position where the proportion of slow fibers was higher than the critical slow fiber proportion made the accelerating position distribution closer to the front roller; otherwise, the friction field made the accelerating position distribution closer to the back roller. This study can offer a valuable reference for designing more effective friction field distribution to improve the output sliver quality.

Abstract:Based on the equations of motion and rheological theory of abrasive flow in the slit, effect between wall slip and grinding has been analyzed and grinding flow model of abrasive flow has been built in this paper. Wall pressure, wall shear stress, wall slip and the grinding force equation of abrasive flow were derived using the model. What is important, the effects of relevant factors were analyzed. The results show that wall slip is one of the necessary conditions that in abrasive flow machining, and show that main factors influencing wall slip are viscosity coefficient , grinding coefficient of abrasive flow, and the first normal stress difference. In the meantime, the results also show that grinding force in slit wall is proportional to the entrance pressure of slit. That is to say that the grinding force of per unit length in flow direction increasing dramatically with decreasing slit height.

Abstract:This paper established a dynamic drafting model with the frictional force between fibers to simulate the drafting process of the uneven input sliver. The simulated results indicated that the number of back, slow-floating, fast-floating, and front fibers would change sequentially when the input sliver linear density changed. Due to the different timing of quantity changes in the four types of fibers, the uneven input sliver led to a repeated increase and decrease in the proportion of fast and slow fibers in the drafting zone. When the input sliver linear density decreased, the floating fibers first continuously accelerated earlier, then accelerated earlier later, and then continuously accelerated earlier again. The effect of increasing the input sliver linear density on the floating fiber motion was opposite to that of decreasing the input sliver linear density. This paper offers a theoretical foundation for further improving the auto-leveling approach.

Abstract:Flange wrinkling is one of the most common defects in conventional spinning. Slight wrinkles can be eliminated by a reasonable design of the spinning process parameters or assisted process, while severe wrinkles lead to low forming quality or even defective products. A lot of work has been done to find the reason for flange wrinkling and the way to avoid it, while limited research has been done to study the severe flange wrinkling phenomenon in conventional spinning process. In this paper, the severe flange wrinkling phenomenon in first-pass conventional spinning of the hemispherical part has been studied through FE (finite element) simulations and experiments. A double curved surface buckling prediction model based on the energy method is proposed in order to predict severe flange wrinkling. Experiments are designed to verify the theoretical severe flange wrinkling prediction method. It turns out that the wrinkling of the inner compressive stress ring leads to the severe fluctuations of the spinning force, and it can be taken as a sign of severe flange wrinkling in the conventional spinning process. Furthermore, the effects of flange wrinkling on the spinning qualities of the final formed hemispherical parts are researched. It is concluded that slight flange wrinkles in the first-pass have little effects on thickness distribution and geometry accuracy of the final formed part, while severe flange wrinkles lead to failed products. Severe flange wrinkling prediction is significant for the conventional spinning of the hemispherical part.

Abstract:A numerical model is proposed to simulate significant yarn slippage and unweaving in woven fabrics using the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) method. Woven fabrics were modeled at the yarn scale using 1D ALE elements with additional slip displacement degrees of freedom (DOF). The relatively weak bending stiffness of the yarn was included using a rotation-free approach. A weave kinematic constraint between crossing yarns allowed an efficient description of the deformation modes due to the yarn assembly such as in-plane shear. In particular, normal compaction at weave points was taken into account using an additional crimp amplitude DOF and couplings of the fabric's cohesion with the normal and lateral compaction were considered. To deal with yarn unweaving, a specific void-ALE 1D element was developed in order to avoid remeshing, time-step reduction (explicit scheme) and early deactivation of the weave kinematic constraint. To demonstrate the capabilities of this numerical model, common characterization tests such as in-plane and out-of-plane pullouts, which induced unweaving were simulated. Finally, a first forming simulation on a hemisphere was performed to verify whether the cohesion of the fabric remained well represented in situations without loss of cohesion before simulating forming on a prismatic punch involving significant yarn slippage.

Abstract:Large sheaves, such as crosshead sheaves, are foundation parts in the heavy industry. Counter-roller spinning steel sheaves are utilized to replace traditional casting iron parts. Few studies exist on the groove shape of these spinning sheaves. Consequently, it is significant to explore the spinning groove shape variation rule and confirm the appropriate spinning parameters. Both experimental and numerical methods were utilized to study the groove shape variation of Q235 steel sheaves and their results were well matched. Spring-back phenomena were considered in this study. The groove depth was lower than the spinning depth and the last formed groove was the deepest. The former groove depth would be affected by the adjacent following spinning process. The single groove spinning result was linearly dependent on the multiple spinning groove depth. Certain equations were used to calculate the groove depth. The bottom–middle–top spinning sequence, which was better than other spinning sequences, should be used in the sheave spinning method. A sheave spinning process could be designed based on the study to obtain a fine groove shape.

Abstract:Flange wrinkling will occur when the dual-metal sheet is formed to a certain degree in conventional spinning, leading to forming failure, so it is necessary to study the flange wrinkling defects. In order to predict and avoid the flange wrinkling, a theoretical model for calculating the forming limit was proposed according to the energy method. Additionally, experiments and numerical simulations were conducted to study the wrinkling and verify the established model. Based on the above analytical model, forming limit diagrams of flange wrinkling in the first-pass conventional spinning were given, and the effects of roller feed rate (f), blank thickness (t), the thickness ratio (lambda) of each layer on the flange wrinkling of dual-metal sheets were further analyzed. It is concluded that increasing the roller feed rate and reducing the thickness of the dual-metal sheet will cause the flange to be more prone to instability and wrinkles. And analytical results are consistent with numerical and experimental results. Considering that the finite element (FE) model is difficult to set up, the theoretical method provides guidance for the selection of process parameters to avoid wrinkling defects.

Abstract:Wrinkling is a common failure when the sheet metal is formed in conventional spinning.Hence,a lot of work has been done to accurately forecast the flange wrinkling.In this paper,the finite element simulation and experiments are established to study the deformation characteristic of the aluminum-alloy hemispherical seal head in conventional spinning,the influence of elastic strain energy and elastic strain energy increment on flange wrinkling is found,and a theoretical flange wrinkling criterion of aluminum alloy is proposed.The results show that deforming forces causes the increases and fluctuation of flange's elastic strain energy.Due to the increasing of elastic strain energy increment's amplitude,the unstable range appears in fan shaped area surrounded by flange edge and active region of spinning roller,and then results in flange wrinkling.This research proposes a flange wrinkling criterion based on Drucker postulate and establishes calculation process.It is proved by the experiment that this criterion can accurately predict the flange wrinkling in spinning.

Abstract:In this paper,the central groove scraper conveyor connecting system as the research object,the mechanics model of middle groove connection system different postures,and were to push the slide and Lycra two kinds of stress conditions in central groove connection system were analyzed.ANSYS software simulation analysis of its static strength and fatigue life,results showed that the central groove connection system weakest place in the passage of the ear and dumbbells fossa,fossa stress concentration dumbbell caused by this result and the actual work damage convex tip matches and proposed to increase the size of the dumbbell nest rounded to reduce stress concentration and reduce stress peaks to resolve this issue.The study was designed scraper conveyor system connecting central groove provides a reference and theoretical basis.
Tuning drafting zone parameters for polyester yarn within a ring spinning system: modeling and optimization

Abstract:Yarn is a fundamental element in most textile products. Among various yarn manufacturing methods, the ring spinning system is particularly important due to its benefits, such as high yarn quality, evenness, low hairiness, and ease of handling. The parameters of the drafting zone in this system greatly impact yarn quality. Typically, adjusting these parameters in the drafting zone is time-consuming and costly using trial-and-error method. This study introduces an algorithmic approach using response surface methodology (RSM), experimental modeling, and multi-objective optimization to decrease unevenness percentage (U%) and imperfection index (IPI). Input parameters optimized include cots hardness of front and back top rollers, spacer size, and break draft. Results showed that the artificial neural network (ANN) predicts response parameters superiorly with determination coefficient close to 1, compared to RSM, which has a determination coefficient of about 0.72. Therefore, ANN was chosen for optimization. Additionally, combining the genetic algorithm (GA) with two ANN-based models reduced IPI from 39 to 33.67 and a decreased from 9.73% to 9.67% occurred in terms of U%. The final Input settings were the cots hardness of the front roller of 70 shores and the cots hardness of the back roller of 76 shores, spacer size 2.8 mm, and break draft of 1.26. This method efficiently optimizes the drafting zone parameter, thus enhancing yarn quality.

Abstract:Processing of rubber-covered roll forward motion draft in spinning frame was discussed.The processing characteristics,finish yarn quality,modification effect and draft rule were analysed in theory,resolving methods were put forward according to existing problems in practice.It is pointed out that yarn quality could be improved effectively by adopting rubber-covered roll forward motion draft especially pure cotton carding yarn quality.The modification cost is lower.
Analytical Modelling of Dry-Jet Wet Spinning

Abstract:This paper introduces an analytical method for the analysis and design of a dry-jet wet spinning system. The 1-D mass conservation equation is used, and velocity distribution is assumed to derive a simple relationship among various spinning parameters. The effect of spinneret mass flow rate, solution density, spinneret structure including velocity and air-gap length, and drawing velocity on the dry-jet wet spinning was simulated using the proposed analytical model. Theoretical prediction of fiber diameter is obtained, which depends upon spinning conditions, solution properties, and spinneret structure. The theoretical results were verified by comparing experimental data with the numerical solution. It was found obviously that the theoretical prediction has comparable accuracy as that by numerical computation. The analytical model can be useful for preliminary design of a spinning process for fabrication of fibers with controllable diameter by adjusting parameters in spinning conditions.

Abstract:In the process of using adhesive method for variable cross-section 3D weaving, the introduction of adhesive at the yarn increasing point greatly increases the friction and wear between carbon fibers, which can lead to a decrease in the overall performance of the prefabricated component. In response to the above issues, a self-made experimental fixture was developed to test the friction and wear performance between carbon fibers in bonding process. The effects of friction angle, preloaded tension, and friction frequency on the friction properties between carbon fiber bundles were investigated. Solidworks is used to model bonded carbon fiber bundles with a friction angle of 90 degrees, and ABAQUS is used to simulate the friction of the bonded carbon fiber bundle. The experimental results show that stress concentration occurs in the center of the friction area, and the wear degree at the center is more obvious, and the number of fiber breaks at the center was more than that of the side. Friction angle has great influence on friction coefficient, while pre-tensioning and friction frequency had a negligible effect. Based on the above results, when performing variable cross-section 3D weaving, it is recommended to increase the spacing between adjacent carriers and shorten the distance between the weaving chassis and the prefabricated parts. Additionally, it is advised to reduce the pre-added tension on the carrier device and increase the knitting frequency as much as possible within the scope of working conditions. The study results are of great significance for developing 3D weaving devices in terms of theoretical and engineering guidance.

Abstract:Process analysis finds out the impact factors of spinning value,namely,noil ratio,pre-draw ratio,draw process,spindle performance,hygrothermo factor.The main spinning accessories such as collector,cot,ring plus traveller and top cradle are tested.Conclusion is made that proper configuration of specifications in process of spinning,drawing and twisting sections plus good mechanical performance will be a good measure reducing spinning CV value.

Abstract:Textile Research Journal, Ahead of Print. Roller drafting, a key mechanical operation for attenuating slivers to a desired thickness, holds critical significance in the spinning processes of the textile industry. Within the drafting stage of spinning, the motion state of fibers is influenced by their intrinsic characteristics, the force applied, and the distribution of both fast-moving and slow-moving fibers. This research focused on man-made fibers, which are isometric, and studied their distributions in the roller drafting zone. In addition, the cut-off weighting method was incorporated to measure the fiber distributions in the drafting zone, the impact of drafting parameters on fiber distribution was discussed, and the associated fiber distribution curves were generated. Findings reveal that fiber distributions are highly affected by factors such as the fiber length, roller-setting, and draft ratio. Conversely, the input sliver linear density and doubling number exhibited negligible influence on the fiber distribution. The total fiber distribution curve appeared as a dichotomy, including a horizontal line and an oblique line. This study also presented a second-order regression model and a deduction model to predict the distribution of isometric fibers in the roller drafting zone.

Abstract:Double rollers clamping spinning is a energy and material saving type process.To obtain the effects of roller parameters on double rollers clamping spinning,based on ABAQUS/Explicit,finite element model of double rollers clamping spinning for right-angle flange is established in case of unrotating workpiece.The model is verified by the experiment,and then used to analyze the double rollers clamping spinning process for right-angle flange.And then the effects of roller round radius,distance between two rollers and roller feed rate on the double rollers clamping spinning process are obtained.The results show that the roller round radius has no obvious effects on the spinning moment,while the increase of roller round radius can reduce the quality of flange.The distance between two rollers has obvious effects on the spinning moment only at the initial forming stage,and with the increase of distance between two rollers the spinning moment reduces.However,the forming quality reduces with the increase of distance between two rollers.With the increase of roller feed rate,the forming quality is improved,but the spinning moment increases.According to the above results,the proper roller parameters during the double rollers clamping spinning are obtained.
