Abstract:This paper presents a conceptual framework for economics of quality (EOQ) principle analysis based on comprehensive cost of quality (CCQ) which improved the traditional cost of quality (COQ) model. Firstly, the paper establishes the CCQ model. Then, relationship schemes between quality level and relevant costs are given. At last, the value engineering is introduced into the process of EOQ principle analysis and the mathematical model of EOQ principle analysis is established by compositing the value orientation from both enterprise and customer. The most appropriate quality level interval can be gotten by the EQQ model which is helpful for enterprises to select the most suitable quality level in market competition environment, and maximise revenue for both sides of supply and demand.

Abstract:The implementation of the construction bill of quantities (BOQ) pricing system is an important measure for deepening project cost management, and it is not only an important way to promote the construction project marketable and international, but also one of the measures for regulate the construction markets .In-depth study of the existing BOQ software, proposed construction projects BOQ system development based on software reuse. During the cause of system development software reuse is used, the function of the system model and the model of system development the soft component are given, with a soft component to assemble the system. The software reuse-based development model, with soft component assembly systems, it is not only speeding up the development progress and development costs, but also can improve the maintainability and scalability of the software.

Abstract:Shared-parking lot brings utilization improvement, but also has its disadvantage compared with traditional parking lot while they are competing for public users. In the market including both shared-parking lot and traditional parking lot, parking lot operators need to know how to deal with parking price to be competitive in the market. The Hotelling model is applied in this paper to study the product differentiation of traditional parking lot and shared-parking lot, with some equilibrium analyses to figure out equilibrium parking prices of both parking lots while considering their competition in the market. Two points of indifferent consumers exist in the competition of the traditional parking lot and the shared- parking lot.

Abstract:Under the bill of quantities pricing model, the price of the contract is determined in advance, making the focus of enterprise project cost management be to control the expenditure of construction costs on the premise of established revenue, reduce the risks brought about by the bill of quantities pricing model, strengthen cost control, give play to the advantages of strategic cost management, and ultimately minimize project risks to maximize the benefits obtained by the enterprise. This paper mainly analyzes the problems existing in the cost control and cost management process of construction enterprises under the bill of quantities pricing mode, and proposes corresponding solutions based on the existing problems, hoping to increase the profits of enterprises from cost control and improve their market competitiveness.

Abstract:Bill of quantities (B/Qs) is an essential document in a construction project which provides the detail of the contract amount. Historically, the formal form of B/Qs was initiated in the United Kingdom after the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century. It was mainly used by contractors for paying their workers and claiming payments from clients by submitting it as partisan final account. Particularly, B/Qs is widely used in the traditional procurement for cost estimating and as part of tender and contract document. However, as construction industry evolved and changed technologically, economically, legally, and procedurally, sodoes the usage of B/Qs in the construction projects. It is not known whether B/Qs in its current format is suitable to be used with the more modern procurement systems or not. Based on literature, the issue on the declining usage of B/Qs due to the non-traditional procurement system adopted in construction industry has been encountered in the UK’s, Australia’s and also Malaysia’s construction industry due to several factors. One of the common factors is due to complexity and time consuming in the preparation of B/Qs document. Thus, this article intends to develop strategies to close the gaps between B/Qs documentation in terms of format and style with the procurement system. Besides that, this article may establish the functions of B/Qs in the construction procurement system.

Abstract:This paper put forward the concept of economic house of quality (EHOQ), constructing EHOQ model based on quality economic analysis. The proposed method expands the 10-steps model of traditional house to a new 13-steps model via introducing three new steps which are growth rate of customer cognitive price, annual increment of quality comprehensive cost and enterprise expected revenue to carrying out the economic analysis on HOQ. The new method breaks the limitations of traditional quality function deployment (QFD) construction without revenue analysis.

Abstract:Two popular selling methods - bargaining and posted-price selling - are compared here in a dynamic model. When bargaining costs no more than posted-price selling, we find that bargaining is always optimal. When bargaining costs more, however, bargaining is still preferred if and only if the common cost for both selling methods is large enough. We also find that an increase in the discount rate or the seller's bargaining power favors bargaining. Finally, we find that if the distribution becomes more dispersed and the increase in a buyer's valuation is sufficiently large, bargaining is more likely to be adopted.

This paper first establishes a new appraisal system for parking area, respectively from the investor and the consumer's view, and analyzes the main factor's influence to each index. Then comparing to the model of logistics distribution center, the bi-level programming model for parking lots is put forward and a method for solution is provided. Finally verify the appraisal system by questionnaire survey.

Abstract:A firm facing price dependent stochastic demand aims to maximize its total expected profit over a planning horizon. In addition to the regular unit selling price, the firm can utilize quantity discounts to increase sales. We refer to this dual-pricing strategy as quantity-based price differentiation. At the beginning of each period, the firm needs to make three decisions: replenish the inventory, set the unit selling price if the unit sales mode is deployed, and set the quantity-discount price if the quantity-sales mode is deployed (or the combination of the two modes of sales). We identify conditions under which the optimal inventory control policy and selling/pricing strategy is well structured. Remarkably, under a utility-based demand framework, these conditions can be unified by a simple regularity assumption that has long been used in the auction and mechanism design literature. Moreover, sharper structural results are yielded for the optimal selling strategy. We also examine the comparative advantage of quantity-based price differentiation with respect to model parameters. Our numerical study shows that substantial profit improvement can be gained as a result of shifting from uniform pricing to quantity-based pricing, especially when the product has a low unit ordering cost and high utility.
