Abstract:We present here a new programmable polymerization route for the synthesis of new conjugated polymers via one pot reaction route. The three component polycoupling reactions of terephthalaldehyde and dibenzylamine with 4,4'diethynyl-1,1'-biphenyl, bis(4-ethynylphenyl)dimethylsilane, 1,2-bis(4-ethynylphenyl)-1,2-diphenylethene, N,N-bis(4ethynylphenyl)aniline, or 2,5-bis(4-ethynylphenyl)-1,1-dimethyl-3,4-diphenylsilole are catalyzed by indium(III) chloride in oxylene at 140 C, affording soluble polymers with well-defined structures and high molecular weights (M up to 51 200) in high yields (up to 96.9%). Model reaction was carried out to elucidate the chemical structures of the polymers. The resulting polymers are processable and enjoy high thermal stability. The polymers carrying tetraphenylethene and silole units are weakly emissive in solutions but become strong emitters when aggregated in poor solvents or fabricated as thin films in the solid state, displaying a phenomenon of aggregation enhanced emission characteristic Thin films of the polymers show high refractive indices (n = 1.7529-1.6041) in a wide wavelength region of 400-1600 nm with low optical dispersions (D' down to 0.005). The polymers are readily metallified by complexation of their triple bonds with cobalt octacarbonyls. Pyrolysis of the resulting organometallic polymers at high temperature under inert atmosphere generates nanostructured ceramics with high magnetic susceptibility (M-s up to 80.7 emu/g) and near zero coercivity (H-c down to 0.19 kOe).

Abstract:Acrylamidines were synthesized via the copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of propargyl acetates, sulfonyl azides and amines, which are readily accessible materials. The synthesized N,N'- bis(aryl) amidines could be converted into 2-styrylbenzoimidazoles by iodobenzene-catalyzed oxidative C-H amination using m-CPBA as a terminal oxidant.

Abstract:Construction of two kinds of prevalent skeletons for chiral pyrrolidines bearing a quaternary stereocenter and bridged dinitrogen heterocycles is a long-standing challenge in synthetic organic chemistry. In this work, we introduce a multifunctional Ag(I)/CAAA-amidphos complex-catalyzed asymmetric [3 + 2] cycloaddition of α-substituted acrylamides with iminoesters as a powerful strategy for the construction of 4,4-disubstituted endoamidopyrrolidines (up to 98% yield, m/b > 99:1, 99% ee) and bridged 3,6-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octanes (up to 97% yield, b/m > 99:1, >99% ee) in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities and ratios of mono- and bicyclic adducts. It was revealed by in situ 31P NMR and 1H NMR kinetic experiments analysis that the chiral Ag(I)/CAAA-amidphos complex, as a multifunctional catalytic system through synergistic activation and spatial orientation of the dipole and dipolarophile, first realized the asymmetric [3 + 2] cycloaddition of the poorly reactive α-substituted acrylamides.

Abstract:The systematic synthesis of a series of N-acyl chloroformamidines is achieved by reaction of carbodiimides with acid chlorides; the structure of an N-acyl chloroformamidine was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The reactivity of N-acyl chloroformamidines towards diethyl malonate, phenylethynyllithium, pentane-2,4-dione, methyl acetoacetate, water, 1,3-dimethylurea, 1,3-dimethylthiourea, and sodium hydrosulfide, resulted in unique protocols for the synthesis of N-acyl-substituted 1,1-diaminoethylenes, amidines, ureas, and thioureas, respectively. These results show that N-acyl chloroformamidines have a good ability to accept nucleophilic attack for the construction of useful N-containing compounds.

Abstract:Heterochain polymers play an essential role in our daily life due to their distinctive properties. Among various heteroatom-rich structures, amidine derivatives serve as a synthetically important and pharmacologically useful structural branch. In this work, we developed a straightforward and powerful polymerization to access diverse heterochain polymers with α,β-unsaturated amidine units. The multicomponent polymerizations of readily accessible diynes, disulfonyl azides, and N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal proceed efficiently at room temperature, producing amidine-containing polymers with high molecular weights in high yields within merely 1 h. All of the obtained polymers are formed with excellent stereoselectivity for the newly formed CC adjacent to the amidine group. The introduction of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogen together with the inherent heteroatom-rich structure feature endows these polymers with multiple functionalities. The nanoaggregates of the diethylamino-substituted polymer show remarkable and reversible fluorescence response to acid and base, and the acid-fumed polymer thin film can be used as a sensitive and reusable fluorescent probe for detecting seafood spoilage. This polymer system can also be employed as a highly selective and sensitive Au3+ sensor, and efficient gold recovery can be achieved based on its excellent gold enrichment capability. In addition, the AIE polymers can also be applied in lysosome-specific cell imaging with low cytotoxicity and excellent photostability.

Abstract:A series of new substituted derivatives of 2-cyano-3-methvlthio-3'-aminoacrylates(acrylamides) have been designed and synthesized.
