Subjectivity P rinciple of Axiology and Faculty Evaluation

Abstract:The value is an expression of the relationship between the object and subject. The different object and subject constitute different value relationships with different value criteria and evaluation criteria. These standards vary depending on the subject. If the subject in evaluation is unclear, people would evaluate one value relationship with the standard of another value relationship. That would result in the problems such as“unreasonable standard” and“values conflict.” To avoid effectively this problem, the key is to emphasize the subject consciousness in the practice of evaluation. The subject of faculty evaluation includes the value subject and the evaluation subject, which are the dialectical unity referring respectively to “for whom the evaluation is done” and “who should do the evalution.”Identifying the value subject and evaluation subject is an important prerequisite to grasp the internal demand of subject, to establish evaluation criteria, and to answer “how to evaluate.”
