Abstract:Periodic heat transfer exists in many engineering applications. The high precision measurement may be affected by the transient heat transfer when the periodic heat flow changes, but the transient characteristics of periodic heat transfer in low frequency heat flow have not been studied deeply. In this study, we build a two-dimensional heat transfer model and verified its reliability. With this model, we investigate some differences between transient and steady-state heat transfer, analyze the reasons, and study the influence of periodic heat flow frequency, thermal conductivity and specific heat on the transient heat transfer characteristics. The findings demonstrate that heat flux delay and amplitude attenuation are influenced by heat flux frequency, thermal conductivity and specific heat. A higher frequency heat flow results in a bigger delay ratio and amplitude attenuation. The increase of specific heat leads to the increase of heat transfer inhomogeneity and temperature asynchronism along the heat transfer path. Additionally, the decrease of thermal conductivity will enhance the non-uniformity in the heat transfer process, while the increase of thermal conductivity can enhance the growth of heat transfer process and speed the heat transfer to stability. These conclusions provide new insights for the study of periodic transient heat transfer.
