Abstract:The insertion of elemental selenium into the Zn-C bond of allylzinc bromide in THF leads to the corresponding zinc allyl selenoate. It reacts with diaryliodonium salts in THF-HMPA to afford the allyl arylselenides in high yields.

Abstract:(Z)-1-Chloro-1-seleno-1-enes have been synthesized regio- and stereoselectively by the reaction of lithium chloride in HOAc with acetylenic selenides. In the presence of 5% mmol of PdCl2(PhCN)(2) and 10% mmol of CuI, (Z)-1-chloro-1-seleno-1-enes coupled with terminal acetylene rapidly to give selenoenynes in high yields.

Abstract:A new protocol has been developed for the formation of C−Se and C−S bonds by the direct selenosulfonylation of alkenes. This protocol is operationally simplistic, has a wide substrate scope, uses readily available seleno and sulfonyl sources, and is amenable to gram-scale synthesis. This reaction represents a significant addition to the limited number of reactions available for the intermolecular selenide difunctionalization of alkenes and would be useful for the synthesis of sulfur- and selenium-containing molecules

Abstract:A halide-free and metal-free strategy for the construction of C−S/Se−P(O) bonds through a three-component reaction of allylic alcohols, P(O)H compounds, and elemental sulfur/selenium is reported. This protocol eliminates the requirement for using toxic, odorous and moisture-sensitive starting materials, as well as for pre-functionalization of substrates. Moreover, the transformation demonstrates high compatibility with various allylic alcohols and P(O)H compounds at a strict ratio of 1:1:1. Based on controlled experiments, a reaction mechanism involving allyl carbocation was proposed.

Abstract:A straightforward and efficient electrochemical method for the anodic oxidative selenenylation of 2-(2-arylallyl)phenols and a 2-(3-arylbut-3-en-1-yl)phenol with diselenides under ambient air conditions has been outlined. This method allows for the synthesis of selenyl-dihydrobenzofurans and a chromane featuring a sterically hindered tetrasubstituted carbon center, demonstrated through 25 examples with yields reaching up to 98%. Initial mechanistic investigations suggest the likely participation of pivotal seleniranium cation species in regulating the reactivity. Abstract:Regio- and stereoselectivity in the chloropalladation carbonylation reaction of different acetylenic selenides in the presence of 0.05 equiv of PdCl2 and 3 equiv of cupric chloride under 1 atm of carbon monoxide affording 2-seleno-3-chloroacrylates were investigated. Opposite stereoselectivities were observed with 2-phenylethynyl selenides and 8-alkylethynyl selenides the reactions of 2-phenylethynyl selenides afforded (E)-2-seleno-3-chloro-3-phenylacrylates, while the reactions of 8-alkyl-ethynyl selenides gave (Z)-2-seleno-3-chloro-3-alkylacrylates. A chloropalladation carbonylation mechanism for this reaction was proposed. The regio- and stereoselective chloropalladation of the carbon-carbon triple bond in acetylenic selenides affords 1-enylpalladium intermediates, in which : the palladium atom connects with the carbon atom bonding with the selenium atom. Carbonylation in the presence of an alcohol affords 2-seleno-3-chloroacrylates.
