Abstract:p-Trifluoromethylthiophenol was synthesized from p-hydroxylphenylthiol in DMF initiated by ·CF_3 which was formed from CF_3Br using Na_2S_2O_4 as a stimulant. The purity of the product was 98% and the yield was 81.5%.

Abstract:4,4'-Bis(dimethoxyphosphonomethyl)-diphenyl was synthesized from trimethoxyfosfin and halogenated hydrocarbons.Effect of molar ratio,reaction time,temperature and amount of solvent on the yield was investigated.The experimental results showed that the yield of 4,4'-bis(dimethoxyphosphonomethyl)-diphenyl was about 91.5%,purity was 98.6% under the following conditions:dichloromethyl biphenyl∶trimethyl phosphite(molar ratio) was 3∶1,temperature was 110 ℃,time was 2 h and solventamount was 160 mL.

Abstract:Using the tetrahydrofuran (THF) as solvent and 40% benzyl trimethyl ammonium hydroxide methanol solution as catalyst, the octaphenyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane ((C6H5)8T8) was synthesized via the hydrolytic condensation of phenyltrichlorosilane. The obtained (C6H5)8T8 was proved to be precise and pure by FT-IR and 29Si-NMR; then with the help of aqueous tetraethyl ammonium hydroxide (TEAOH) and using the THF as solvent, via the corner-opening reaction; the synthesized (C6H5)8T8 was reacted into the incompletely condensed POSS. In order to suppress the by-product reactions, the corner-opening reaction temperature, time and the amount of catalyst used should be well controlled. The structure of the corner-opening reaction product was determined and validated by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FT-IR, elementary analysis and MALDI-TOF MS. The results indicate that the main product of the corner-opening reaction is heptaphenyltrisilanol-POSS, and its initial decomposing temperature analyzed by TGA is 516.1℃ (5%(wt) weight loss), which suggests that the obtained heptaphenyltrisilanol-POSS has good thermal stability. Compared with literature works, the reaction time of this work is much shorter and thus the yield is increased, which would make the POSS be more useful in the syntheses of organic-inorganic hybrid materials.

Abstract:p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was prepared from p-(trifluoromethyl)chlorobenzene and potussium cyanide catalyzed by tris(triphenylphosphine)nickle(0), which was prepared from anhydrous NiCl2 and triphenylphosphine in the presence of zinc.And then, the produced intermideate, p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was treated with hydrogen sulfide to give p-(trifluoromethyl)thiobenzamide and the yield of 90% with the purity of 99.7% was obtained for the objective product.The structure is correct through IR and GC-MS testing.The operation process is simple and reaction condition is moderate.

Abstract:The chloromethylation reaction of 2-chloro-thiophene via phase transfer catalysis was carried out to synthesize 2-chloro-3-chloromethyl-thiophene, where the catalyst was tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB). The chloromethylation reagents used were paraformaldehyde and 37% concentrated hydrochloric acid. The structure of 2-chloro-3-chloromethyl-thiophene was confirmed by means of GC-MAS, IR and ^1H NMR spectrometries. The yield was 77.6%. The O-alkylation reactions between 1-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-2-(1-imidazol)-ethanol and 2-chloro-3-chloromethyl-thiophene were performed in a two -phase system of organic solvent/solid NaOH under phase transfer catalytic condition. At the end, the tioconazole nitrate was formed by the addition of nitric acid. The structure of tioconazole was confirmed with IR and ^1H NMR spectra. The yield of tioconazole was 53.0%.

Abstract:Thiophenol,ethylene oxide and concentrated sulfuric acid were used as raw materials to prepare phenylvinylsulfone in order to get a simple and applicable synthesis method.The experiments were taken in a batch reactor to investigate the effects of temperature and the ratio of reactants on each step of reactions.The optimum conditions of the reaction were selected as follows: the reaction temperature of thiophenol and ethylene oxide is 40 ℃,the molar ratio of thiophenol to ethylene oxide is 1 ∶1.1,and the reaction temperature of step 2 is 140 ℃,and the molar ratio of thiophenol to concentrated sulfuric acid is 1 ∶3.2.At such conditions the yield is 92%.The new route obtained is much simpler and easier to operate,and has higher atom economy and yield.

Abstract:A new and efficient method for the synthesis of 4-methoxyl-2,3,5-trimethylpyiidine with an overall yield of 76% from cheap and easily available 2,3,5-trimethylpyridine was developed. The structure of related compounds was identified by IR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR. The method could be carried out economically on a huge scale.

Abstract:An improved procedure for the synthesis of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene is reported starting from ethyl chloroacetate. Reaction with sodium sulfide gave diethyl thiodiglycolate which was then reacted with diethyl oxalate, and then 1,2-dibromoethane to give 2,5-dicarbethoxy-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene. Hydrolysis, and decarboxylation gave 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene in 16% overall yield. The structures of the key intermediates in synthetic routes were confirmed, and every step was optimised, to give a procedure suitable for large-scale industrial production.

Abstract:A new method for the 100 g scale synthesis of N-difluoromethylthiophthalimide 1 from cheap commodity chemical benzyl mercaptan and HCF2Cl or other difluorocarbene precursors was described. Reagent 1 is an excellent electrophilic difluoromethylthiolating reagent as demonstrated by the gram-scale synthesis of five difluoromethylthiolated derivatives of structurally complicated drug-like molecules and natural products.

Abstract:A convenient approach for the synthesis of 3-difluoroalkyl phthalides has been developed from phthalaldehydic acids and difluoroenoxysilanes by using relatively inexpensive p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (PTSA) as a catalyst. A series of 3-difluoroalkyl phthalides and cyclic difluoroalkyl ethers were obtained in up to 99% yield. The products obtained could be readily converted into difluoroalkyl phthalide derivatives by simple modifications.

Abstract:The synthetic method of bis-(o-trifluoromethylphenyl)dithiophosphinic acid has been improved during the synthetic research of various dithiophosphinic acids.The optimized synthesis has been realized with PCl3 and(o-F3CC6H4)MgBr as starting materials and via a continuous three-step method including Grignard reaction,sulfuration and substitution reaction.The FTIR spectrum of product shows the presence of substituted aromatic ring,C-F bond,P-S single bond and P=S double bond.The interpretation result of 31P NMR,1H NMR and 13C NMR of the product,as well as MS,is completely in line with the structure of the targeted compound bis-(o-trifluoromethylphenyl)dithiophosphinic acid.

Abstract:sulfomethyltetrazole 5 thiol disodium salt, a side chain of cefonicid,was synthesized from sodium bisulfite,ammonium hydroxide and formaldehyde through five steps of reactions. The yield of product was 10.8% in the optimum condition. The process was more economic in which the iodomethane is substituted to the bromoethane in the second reaction.

Abstract:p Fluorophenol is synthesized from WTBXp fluoroaniline through diazotization method. p Fluoroaniline is at first diazotized in dilute sulfuric acid, and then the solution of diazonium sulfate is droped into boiling sulfuric acid solution, hydrolyzed and at the same time, the product is distilled out of the reaction system. Because the reactiondistilling method decreases the opportunity for the product to react with diazonium salt, the yield rises to above 80% when the diazonium sulfate is hydrolyzed at 130 in a medium consisting of 11 sulfuric acid and water (vol.).

Abstract:The titled compound (1), which is an important intermediate of metoprolol, was synthesized in overall 29% yield from cheap p-nitrotoluene and paraformaldehyde via condensation, alkylation, reduction, diazotisation and hydrolysis. The key step (p-nitrotoluene condensation with paraformaldehyde) was investigated in detail, including effects of catalysts, solvent, and reactants mole ratio on yield. Thus, 2 mol p-nitrotoluenes reacted with 1 mol paraformaldehyde in DMSO, catalyzed by potassium phenol to give p-nitrophenyl ethanol (4) with the conversion of p-nitrotoluene of 31% and selectivity of 72%. The remaining p-nitrotoluene could be recycled.

Abstract:With methyl 3,3,3-trifluoropyruvate as electrophilic agent in the presence of TiCl4 by Friedel-Crafts reaction,three intermediates,methyl 2-hydroxy-2-trifluoromethyl-2-(2-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)acetate(2a),methyl 2-hydroxy-2-trifluoromethyl-2-(2,3-dihydroxy-5-methylphenyl)acetate(2b),and 2,7-bis(1-hydroxy-1-methoxycarbonyltrifluoroethyl)-3-methylindole(2c) were synthesized from the corresponding starting materials.The yields were 45%,73.2% and 61.7%,respectively.

Abstract:AbstractS‐((Phenylsulfonyl)difluoromethyl)thiophenium salts were designed and prepared by a triflic acid catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of ortho‐ethynyl aryldifluoromethyl sulfanes. The thiophenium salts were found to be efficient as electrophilic difluoromehtylating reagents for introduction of a CF2H group to sp3‐hybridized carbon nucleophiles such as of β‐ketoesters and dicyanoalkylidenes. The (phenylsulfonyl)difluoromethyl group can be readily transformed into CF2H under mild reaction conditions. Enantioselective electrophilic difluoromethylation was also achieved in the presence of bis(cinchona) alkaloids.

Abstract:Comprehensive Summary This article described an unprecedented synthesis of trifluoromethylthiophosphonium salts from allyl trifluoromethyl sulfoxide and phosphines in the presence of trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (TMSOTf) through Mislow‐Evans‐type rearrangement. The resulting trifluoromethylthiophosphonium salts were firstly isolated and fully characterized. These fluoroalkylphosphonium salts, as exemplified by trifluoromethylthio triphenylphosphonium salt (6a), exhibited unique and versatile reaction with nucleophiles and deoxygenative trifluoromethylthiolation reaction of carboxylic acids. Furthermore, the photoredox catalytic tunable radical hydrotrifluoromethylation and hydrotrifluoromethythiolation of unactivated alkenes with 6a was successfully developed.
