Abstract:α-Selenoketones and α-selenoesters were prepared separately by the reaction of arylselenium complexes of titanocene (Cp2 TiSeAr) with α- bromoketones and α- bromoesters.Cp2 TiSeAr was derived from the reductive cleavage of diaryldiselenides by the system of Cp2TiCl2/2i-BuMgBr /TF.

Abstract:The Biaryl-bridged Salen Ti complexes are a high active catalyst at substrate-to-catalyst ratios as high as 1 000:1 in the reaction of asymmetric addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide to aldehydes,and the optimal catalyst 4 derived from(R,R)-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde produces trimethylsilyl ethers of cyanohydrins with up to 87% enantiomeric excess at ambient temperature.

Abstract:Selenocarbonylation addition reaction of selenoesters to nonactived terminal alkynes under the catalysis of CuX produces (Z)-beta-arylseleno-alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones in high selectivity and high yields. Abstract:A new protocol has been developed for the formation of C−Se and C−S bonds by the direct selenosulfonylation of alkenes. This protocol is operationally simplistic, has a wide substrate scope, uses readily available seleno and sulfonyl sources, and is amenable to gram-scale synthesis. Abstract:An expeditious method to access 2-aminobenzoxazoles and 2-aminobenzothiazoles from various substituted 2-aminophenols and 2-aminothiophenols, respectively, with isoselenocyanates in a one pot procedure is reported. Elemental Se precipitates nearly quantitatively in the reaction without any deselenizing agent and it can be reused. A possible mechanism for the formation of the target products is proposed.

Abstract:ZnCl2-catalyzed selenolysis of epoxides with ArSeH was investigated in ethanol at room temperature. A variety of beta-hydroxyl selenides were obtained in excellent yield and good regioselectivity by the simple, efficient and atomic economic procedure. Starting from epoxide o-cresyl glycidyl ether, a one-pot three-step procedure was used for the chemoselective synthesis of N-tosyl-1,3-oxazolidin-2-ones.

Abstract:Herein, a straightforward method for the synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted selenophenes <i>via</i> [2+2+1] cyclization of easily accessible terminal alkynes and elemental selenium has been developed. This reaction features high atom- and step-economy, excellent regioselectivity, good functional group tolerance and the use of stable and non-toxic selenium as a selenium source. A series of control experiments suggests that the reaction might undergo Glaser coupling reaction of two molecules of alkynes, followed by insertion of H<sub>2</sub>Se and subsequent cyclization. Moreover, the newly formed products can be further converted to diverse conjugated selenophene-based derivatives, demonstrating their potential applications in organic synthesis and materials science.

Abstract:Herein, the Ru-catalyzed chemo- and regioselective formation of four novel organoselenium compounds is established. Abstract:The installation of selenium groups has become an essential step across a number of industries such as agrochemicals, drug discovery, and materials. However, direct C(sp3)-H selenation, which is most atom economical, remains a formidable challenge, and only a few examples have been reported to date. In this article, we introduce the transition metal-free C(sp3)-H selenation with the easily available β-ketosulfones and diselenides as the material source. This benign protocol permits access to a broad spectrum of α-aryl(alkyl) seleno-β-ketosulfones in high yields with out-standing functional group compatibility. Distinct advantages of this protocol over all previous methods encompass the utilization of base and air as an oxidant, at room temperature, as well as enhanced green chemistry matrices.

Abstract:A facile electrochemical synthesis of selenocarbamates from multicomponent reactions of isocyanides, diselenides, and water is developed here. This strategy provides a metal‐free, mild conditions, green and efficient method for the synthesis of selenocarbonyl carbamates with excellent yields ranging from moderate to excellent and good substrate tolerance. A facile electrochemical synthesis of selenocarbamates from multicomponent reactions of isocyanides, diselenides, and water is developed here. This strategy provides a mild, direct, and complementary approach for synthesizing selenocarbamates in moderate to excellent yields with good substrate tolerance. The simple undivided cell setting with carbon/Pt electrodes proceeded smoothly. A radical pathway was proposed by preliminary mechanistic research.

Abstract:A homo-Michael addition reaction of lithium selenolates with 1-(1-alkynyl)cyclopropyl ketones and the subsequent reaction with electrophiles such as PhSeBr, NFSI and NCS is reported. Based on the nature of electrophiles, this reaction may afford highly substituted 1,2-allenyl ketones or furans (E(+) = PhSe(+)) and 2-alkynyl ketones (E(+) = F(+), Cl(+), active halides) as the final products, respectively.
