A New Triploid Seedless Watermelon Variety——zhengkang Wuzi No. 8

Abstract:Zhengkang Wuzi No. 8 is a new triploid seedlezater maturity,grows vigorously,sets fruit normally,is resistant to disease and humidity. The average fruit is about 8-10 kg, and the 667m2 yield is 4 500 kg in open field and over 5 000 kg with grafting cultivation in greenhouse. The fruit is round with dark green skin color without stripes,the young fruit skin gets dark fast. The flesh is red with small undeveloped seed hull,fine texture,crisp and sweet. The flesh sugar content is over 11.8% at center. It has good adaptability and is suitable for long distance shipping. It can be grown in most seedless watermelon production areas in China.
