Abstract:Nongkeda No.5 is a new watermelon variety with good quality.It was developed in Northwest A&F University.It has 90 to 92 days of the whole growth period and 28 to 30 days of fruit developing period.The variety is easy to bear fruits.The plant has the best comprehensively characters.The quality analysis is that the central reflex soluble contents is 12.4%,the total sugar content is 8.97%,the vitamin C content is 9.1 μg/g and the crude fiber is 0.12%.It also has good disease resistance to branch blight,anthracnose,powdery mildew and blight.The average watermelon weights 6kg and the average output is 48 753 kg/hm2.
