Study on Extrusion Forming Process of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy

Abstract:In the experiment, three types of specimens made of AZ31 wrought magnesium including solid stick, thin-wall cylinder and thin-wall square cylinder are devised. Systematic tests and researches have been done gocusing on the relative process issues and process parameters such as flan heating, mould preheating, lubricant, extrusion ratio, extrusion rate, and extrusion force, etc. The consequently concluded forming process principle and process parameter deciding method have important reference to industry applications.
