Abstract:The paper first presents a brief review of development courses of additive manufacturing technology and summarizes the development status and the application fields of additive manufacturing technology, then, according to the manufacturing methods, it focuses on the principles and characteristics of several main additive manufacturing technologies. This paper also analyzes the existing problems and challenges of additive manufacturing technology and its future development trend. This paper aims to provide references for the development direction of additive manufacturing technology in developing countries.

Abstract:Additive manufacturing and 3D printing technology have been developing rapidly in the last 30 years, and indicate great potential for future development. The promising future of this technology makes its impact on traditional industry unpredictable. 3D printing will propel the revolution of fabrication modes forward, and bring in a new era for customized fabrication by realizing the five “any”s: use of almost any material to fabricate any part, in any quantity and any location, for any industrial field. Innovations in material, design, and fabrication processes will be inspired by the merging of 3D-printing technology and processes with traditional manufacturing processes. Finally, 3D printing will become as valuable for manufacturing industries as equivalent and subtractive manufacturing processes.
Review on Development of Key Technologies in Plastic Forming of Titanium Alloy

Abstract:Development of key technologies in plastic forming of titanium alloys is reviewed, focusing on two essentially important aspects, that is, shape forming and microstructure control. Force-saving plastic forming technologies for shape forming are discussed on their applications in manufacturing large-scale complex-shaped titanium components. Some samples of isothermal forming and continuous/intermittent local loading forming of titanium components are presented and discussed. Moreover, springback control and preform optimization are discussed as the important aspects of precision forming technology, and fracture control and underfill control approaches are discussed as aspects of defects control technology as well. In review of microstructure control technologies, mechanism and rules of microstructure evolution, for instance, the evolutions of texture and morphology, are discussed at first, and then several representative numerical modeling approaches, such as internal variables modeling, crystal plasticity modeling and cellular automata modeling, are discussed. In the end, trends, challenges and developments in plastic forming of titanium alloy are presented.

Abstract:With the rapid development of micro/nano science and micro?electro?mechanical systems ( MEMS) technolo?gy, the requirements for micro?parts are quietly increased. Micro?forming is a manufacturing method using plastic deforma?tion for the production of parts having at least two dimensions in the sub?millimeter range. Micro?forming becomes an at?tractive option in the manufacturing of micro products with high efficiency, simple process, excellent properties and high accuracy because of its advantageous characteristics for mass production with low cost. The background, application and advantages of the micro?forming are presented. The state of the art in micro?forming is summarized from the viewpoint of size effect, novel micro?forming machine, forming processes and methods. Finally, the development trends of micro?form?ing technology with new materials, such as ultrafine?grained materials and bulk amorphous alloys, are discussed.

Abstract:Plastic forming is one of enabling and fundamental technologies in advanced manufacturing chains. Design optimization is a critical way to improve the performance of the forming system, exploit the advantages of high productivity, high product quality, low production cost and short time to market and develop precise, accurate, green, and intelligent (smart) plastic forming technology. However, plastic forming is quite complicated, relating to multi-physics field coupling, multi-factor influence, multi-defect constraint, and triple nonlinear, etc., and the design optimization for plastic forming involves multi-objective, multi-parameter, multi-constraint, nonlinear, high-dimensionality, non-continuity, time-varying, and uncertainty, etc. Therefore, how to achieve accurate and efficient design optimization of products, equipment, tools/dies, and processing as well as materials characterization has always been the research frontier and focus in the field of engineering and manufacturing. In recent years, with the rapid development of computing science, data science and internet of things (IoT), the theories and technologies of design optimization have attracted more and more attention, and developed rapidly in forming process. Accordingly, this paper first introduced the framework of design optimization for plastic forming. Then, focusing on the key problems of design optimization, such as numerical model and optimization algorithm, this paper summarized the research progress on the development and application of the theories and technologies about design optimization in forming process, including deterministic and uncertain optimization. Moreover, the applicability of various modeling methods and optimization algorithms was elaborated in solving the design optimization problems of plastic forming. Finally, considering the development trends of forming technology, this paper discusses some challenges of design optimization that may need to be solved and faced in forming process.

Abstract:The authors forecast the development of semi-solid forming optimistically in the future based on the application actuality of it in China or abroad.Presently the technologies of thixocasting,thixoforging of aluminum alloy and injection of magnesium alloy applied in industries are available.But the bottleneck of application limit is the technique of performing.If Semi-Solid Forming makes great progress,the performing must be high efficiency,high quality and low cost.So we propose that the scholars should make new efforts under the comment "hope of Semi-Solid Forming being in China",and especially reach a new application level.

Abstract:Low frequency vibration applied on dies or blank during the plastic forming process can improve the material plasticity , reduce the forming force , refine the grain structure , improve the mechanical properties and the tensile strength . Abstract:The plastic forming process involves many influencing factors and has some inevitable disturbance factors, rendering the multi-objective collaborative optimization difficult. With the rapid development of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, intelligent process optimization has become one of the critical technologies for plastic forming. This paper elaborated on the research progress on the intelligent optimization of plastic forming and the data-driven process planning and decision-making system in plastic forming process optimization. The development trend in intelligent optimization of the plastic forming process was researched. This review showed that the intelligent optimization algorithm has great potential in controlling forming quality, microstructure, and performance in plastic forming. It is a general trend to develop an intelligent optimization model of the plastic forming process with high integration, versatility, and high performance. Future research will take the data-driven expert system and digital twin system as the carrier, integrate the optimization algorithm and model, and realize the multi-scale, high-precision, high-efficiency, and real-time optimization of the plastic forming process.
