Abstract:We give a complete classification of holomorphic endomorphisms of Hopf manifolds in dimensions two and three. In particular, we show that these endomorphisms are automorphisms except for the diagonal class, in which case they are quasi-homogeneous.

Abstract:The left and right homological integrals are introduced for a large class of infinite dimensional Hopf algebras. Using the homological integrals we prove a version of Maschke's theorem for infinite dimensional Hopf algebras. The generalization of Maschke's theorem and homological integrals are the keys to study noetherian regular Hopf algebras of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension one.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two kinds of total Chern forms c(E,G) and C(E,G) as well as a total Segre form s(E,G) of a holomorphic Finsler vector bundle π : (E,G) → M expressed by the Finsler metric G, which answers a question of J. Faran ([10]) to some extent. As some applications, we show that the signed Segre forms (−1)sk(E,G) are positive (k, k)forms on M when G is of positive Kobayashi curvature; we prove, under an extra assumption, that a Finsler-Einstein vector bundle in the sense of Kobayashi is semi-stable; we introduce a new definition of a flat Finsler metric, which is weaker than Aikou’s one ([3]) and prove that a holomorphic vector bundle is Finsler flat in our sense if and only if it is Hermitian flat.
Classification of closed conformally flat Lorentzian manifolds with unipotent holonomy

Abstract:We classify closed, conformally flat Lorentzian manifolds of dimension $n \geq 3$ with unipotent holonomy in PO(2,n). They are all Kleinian and fall into four different geometric types according to the intersection of the image of the developing map with a holonomy-invariant isotropic flag. They are homeomorphic to $S^{n-1} \times S^1$ or a nilmanifold of degree at most three, up to a finite cover. We classify those admitting an essential conformal flow; these fall into two geometric types, both homeomorphic to $S^{n-1} \times S^1$ up to finite cover.

A classification of locally Chern homogeneous Hermitian manifolds

Abstract:We apply the algebraic consideration of holonomy systems to study Hermitian manifolds whose Chern connection is Ambrose-Singer and prove structure theorems for such manifolds. The main result (Theorem 1.2) asserts that the universal cover of such a Hermitian manifold must be the product of a complex Lie group and Hermitian symmetric spaces, which was previously proved up to complex dimension four by the authors. This in some sense is the Hermitian version of Cartan's classification of Hermitian symmetric spaces. We also obtain results on Hermitian manifolds whose Bismut connection is Ambrose-Singer when the complex dimension $n\le 4$. Furthermore we discuss a project of classifying such manifolds via Alekseevskiĭ and Kimel\!\'{}\!fel\!\'{}\!d type theorems, which we establish for the family of the Gauduchon connections on a compact Hermitian manifold except for the Bismut connection.

Endomorphisms of mapping tori

Abstract:We classify in terms of Hopf-type properties mapping tori of residually finite Poincaré Duality groups with non-zero Euler characteristic. This generalises and gives a new proof of the analogous classification for fibered 3-manifolds. Various applications are given. In particular, we deduce that rigidity results for Gromov hyperbolic groups hold for the above mapping tori with trivial center.

Abstract:We generalize the classification of recurrent domains for holomorphic maps on two-dimensional complex projective space given in Fornæss and Sibony (Math. Ann. 301:813–820, 1995 ) to higher dimensions. In particular, we show that an invariant recurrent Fatou component is either an attracting basin or a Siegel domain or it retracts to a lower-dimensional Siegel manifold.

Abstract:A quasi-Hamiltonian manifold is called multiplicity free if all of its symplectic reductions are 0-dimensional. In this paper, we classify compact, multiplicity free, twisted quasi-Hamiltonian manifolds for simply connected, compact Lie groups. Thereby, we recover old and find new examples of these structures.

Abstract:In this paper, we apply a result of the classification of a compact cohomogeneity one Riemannian manifold with a compact Lie group G to obtain a classification of compact cohomogeneity one locally conformal Kähler manifolds. In particular, we prove that the compact complex manifold is a complex one-dimensional torus bundle over a projective rational homogeneous, or cohomogeneity one manifold except of a class of manifolds with a generalized Hopf surface bundle over a projective rational homogeneous space. Additionally, it is a homogeneous compact complex manifold under the complexification GC of the given compact Lie group G under an extra condition that the related closed one form is cohomologous to zero on the generic G orbit. Moreover, the semi-simple part S of the Lie group action has hypersurface orbits, i.e., it is of cohomogeneity one with respect to the semi-simple Lie group S in that special case.

Abstract:We examine the inverse procedure of the Radford-Majid bosonization for Hopf superalgebras and give a handy method for enumerating Hopf superalgebras whose bosonization is isomorphic to a given Hopf algebra. As an application, we classify Hopf superalgebras of dimension up to 5 and give examples of higher dimensions.

Abstract:A three-dimensional Lorentzian hypersurface x : M-1(3) -> R-1(4) is called conformally flat if its induced metric is conformal to the flat Lorentzian metric, this property is preserved under the conformal transformation of R-1(4). In this paper, using the projective light-cone model, we give a complete classification of those ones whose shape operators have two distinct real eigenvalues and cannot be diagonalizable. These hypersurfaces are conformal equivalent to cones, cylinders, or rotational hypersurfaces generated by B-scrolls (over null Frenet curves) in three-dimensional Lorentzian space forms.

Abstract:We classify singular holomorphic vector fields in two-dimensional complex space admitting a (Levi-nonflat) real-analytic invariant 3-fold through the singularity. In this way, we complete the classification of infinitesimal symmetries of real-analytic Levi-nonflat hypersurfaces in complex two-space. The classification of holomorphic vector fields obtained in the paper has very interesting overlaps with the recent Lombardi-Stolovitch classification theory for holomorphic vector fields at a singularity. In particular, we show that most of the resonances arising in Lombardi-Stolovitch theory do not occur under the presence of (Levi-nonflat) integral manifolds.

On the automorphism groups of hyperbolic manifolds

Abstract:Let Diff(N) and Homeo(N) denote the smooth and topological group of automorphisms respectively that fix the boundary of the n-manifold N, pointwise. We show that the (n-4)-th homotopy group of Homeo(S^1 \times D^{n-1}) is not finitely-generated for n >= 4 and in particular the topological mapping-class group of S^1\times D^3 is infinitely generated. We apply this to show that the smooth and topological automorphism groups of finite-volume hyperbolic n-manifolds (when n >= 4) do not have the homotopy-type of finite CW-complexes, results previously known for n >= 11 by Farrell and Jones. In particular, we show that if N is a closed hyperbolic n-manifold, and if Diff_0(N) represents the subgroup of diffeomorphisms that are homotopic to the identity, then the (n-4)-th homotopy group of Diff_0(N) is infinitely generated and hence if n=4, then \pi_0\Diff_0(N) is infinitely generated with similar results holding topologically.

Abstract:We classify compact, connected Hamiltonian and quasi-Hamiltonian manifolds of cohomogeneity one (which is the same as being multiplicity free of rank one). Here the group acting is a compact connected Lie group (simply connected in the quasi-Hamiltonian case). This work is a concretization of the more general classification (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1612.03843" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1612.03843">arXiv:1612.03843</a>) of multiplicity free manifolds in the special case of rank one. As a result we obtain numerous new concrete examples of multiplicity free quasi-Hamiltonian manifolds or, equivalently, Hamiltonian loop group actions.

Abstract:$\infty$-Harmonic maps are a generalization of $\infty$-harmonic functions. They can be viewed as the limiting cases of p-harmonic maps as p goes to infinity. In this paper, we give complete classifications of linear and quadratic $\infty$-harmonic maps from and into a sphere, quadratic $\infty$-harmonic maps between Euclidean spaces. We describe all linear and quadratic $\infty$-harmonic maps between Nil and Euclidean spaces, between Sol and Euclidean spaces. We also study holomorphic $\infty$-harmonic maps between complex Euclidean spaces.

Abstract:Some classification results for closed surfaces in Berger spheres are presented. On the one hand, a Willmore functional for isometrically immersed surfaces into an homogeneous space $\mathbb{E}^{3}(\kappa,\tau)$ with isometry group of dimension $4$ is defined and its first variational formula is computed. Then, we characterize Clifford and Hopf tori as the only Willmore surfaces satifying a sharp Simons-type integral inequality. On the other hand, we also obtain some integral inequalities for closed surfaces with constant extrinsic curvature in $\mathbb{E}^3(\kappa,\tau)$, becoming equalities if and only if the surface is a Hopf torus in a Berger sphere.

Abstract: A submanifold in a real space form attaining equality in the DDVV inequality at every point is called a Wintgen ideal submanifold. They are invariant objects under the Moebius transformations. In this paper, we classify those Wintgen ideal submanifolds of dimension m>3 which are Moebius homogeneous. There are three classes of non-trivial examples, each related with a famous class of homogeneous minimal surfaces in $S^n$ or $CP^n$: the cones over the Veronese surfaces $S^2$ in $S^n$, the cones over homogeneous flat minimal surfaces in $S^n$, and the Hopf bundle over the Veronese embeddings of $CP^1$ in $CP^n$.
Residual finiteness of some automorphism groups of high dimensional manifolds

Abstract:We show that for a smooth, closed 2-connected manifold $M$ of dimension $d \geq 6$, the topological mapping class group $\pi_0 \mathrm{Homeo}(M)$ is residually finite, in contrast to the situation for the smooth mapping class group $\pi_0 \mathrm{Diff}(M)$. Combined with a result of Sullivan, this implies that $\pi_0 \mathrm{Homeo}(M)$ is an arithmetic group. The proof uses embedding calculus, and is of independent interest: we show that the $T_k$-mapping class group, $\pi_0 T_k \mathrm{Diff}(M)$, is residually finite, for all $k \in \mathbb{N}$. The statement on the topological mapping class group is then deduced from the Weiss fibre sequence, convergence of the embedding calculus tower and smoothing theory.
