Abstract:As an effective adjunct to central refraction,peripheral refraction can affect retinal shape and image quality. Defocus in the peripheral retina can induce accommodation, but the principle of this reaction is still not clear.Experimental data shows peripheral refraction is able to control the progression of emmetropization, and clinical studies also indicate the association between peripheral refraction and the development of myopia. It is important to do further study on the correlation between peripheral refraction and myopia progression.
