Abstract:•Creep life of cracked pipe is assessed comparatively using different approaches.•The life assessment results of the C*-R* approach are sensitive to initial crack sizes.•The two-parameter C*-Ac approach has better life prediction accuracy.•The C*-Ac approach can accurately predict creep crack growth morphology.•The crack growth morphology is mainly dependent on the initial crack aspect ratio.
