Abstract:In this paper we study the regularity of closed, convex surfaces which achieve maximal affine area among all the closed, convex surfaces enclosed in a given domain in the Euclidean 3-space. Abstract:It is proved that any bounded pseudoconvex domain in C-n is complete w.r.t. the Bergman metric if its boundary can be described locally as the graph of a continuous function in suitable coordinates for C-n. Abstract:In complex dynamics, the boundaries of higher dimensional hyperbolic components in holomorphic families of polynomials or rational maps are mysterious objects, whose topological and analytic properties are fundamental problems. In this paper, we show that in some typical families of polynomials (i.e. algebraic varieties defined by periodic critical relations), the boundary of a capture hyperbolic component ℋ is homeomorphic to the sphere S^2_ℂ(ℋ)-1. Furthermore, we establish an unexpected identity for the Hausdorff dimension of ∂ℋ: H.dim(∂ℋ) = 2 _ℂ(ℋ)-2+max_f∈∂ℋH.dim(∂ A^J(f)), where A^J(f) is the union of the bounded attracting Fatou components of f associated with the free critical points in the Julia set J(f). In the proof, some new results with independent interests are discovered.

Abstract:In this paper, we provide some characterizations of strong pseudoconvexity by the boundary behavior of intrinsic invariants for smoothly bounded pseudoconvex domains of finite type in $\mathbb{C}^2$. As a consequence, if such domain is biholomorphically equivalent to a quotient of the unit ball, then it is strongly pseudoconvex.

Abstract:We show that each pseudoconvex domain $\Omega \subset {\mathbb {C}}^n$ admits a holomorphic map $F$ to ${\mathbb {C}}^m$ with $|F|\le C_1 e^{C_2 \hat{\delta }^{-6}}$, where $\hat{\delta }$ is the minimum of the boundary distance and $(1+|z|^2)^{-1/2}$, such that every boundary point is a Casorati–Weierstrass point of $F$. Based on this fact, we introduce a new anti-hyperbolic concept—universal dominability. We also show that for each $\alpha >6$ and each pseudoconvex domain $\Omega \subset {\mathbb C}^n$, there is a holomorphic function $f$ on ${\Omega }$ with $|f|\le C_\alpha e^{C_\alpha ' \hat{\delta }^{-\alpha }}$, such that every boundary point is a Picard point of $F$. Applications to the construction of holomorphic maps of a given domain onto some ${\mathbb C}^m$ are given.

Abstract: We obtain a psh Hopf lemma for domains satisfying certain cusp conditions by using a sharp estimate for the Green function of a planar cusp along the axis. As an application, we obtain a negative psh exhaustion function with certain global growth estimate on a pseudoconvex domain with H\"{o}lder boundary.

Abstract:We prove that a bounded domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ admitting a complete Kähler metric with negatively pinched holomorphic bisectional curvature near the boundary, admits a complete Kähler metric with negatively pinched holomorphic bisectional curvature everywhere. As a consequence we prove that strictly pseudoconvex bounded domains with $C^2$ boundary and bounded domains with squeezing function tending to 1 at every point of the boundary, admit a complete Kähler metric with negatively pinched holomorphic bisectional curvature everywhere.

Abstract:Motivated by the classical bounded Hölder domains, we introduce the notion of an unbounded simply connected Hölder domain. We prove analytic and geometric characterizations of those domains with the aid of the spherical metric and the hyperbolic metric. We also study the relation of our definition to the definition of classical bounded Hölder domains. It turns out that unbounded Hölder domains form a natural class of domains for the study of the Hardy number (which determines the Hardy spaces to which the corresponding Riemann mapping belongs to). As an application of our characterizations, we prove a sharp bound for the Hardy number of an unbounded Hölder domain.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the boundedness of the Hausdorff operator Hϕ on the real line ℝ. First, we start with an easy case by establishing the boundedness of the Hausdorff operator on the Lebesgue space Lp(ℝ) and the Hardy space H1(ℝ). The key idea is to reformulate Hϕ as a Calderón-Zygmund convolution operator, from which its boundedness is proved by verifying the Hörmander condition of the convolution kernel. Secondly, to prove the boundedness on the Hardy space Hp(ℝ) with 0 < p < 1; we rewrite the Hausdorff operator as a singular integral operator with the non-convolution kernel. This novel reformulation, in combination with the Taibleson-Weiss molecular characterization of Hp(ℝ) spaces, enables us to obtain the desired results. Those results significantly extend the known boundedness of the Hausdorff operator on H1(ℝ).

Abstract:Given a subspace $U\subset\mathbb{C}[x_1,\dots,x_n]_d$ we consider the closure of the image of the rational map $\mathbb{P}^{n-1}\dashrightarrow\mathbb{P}^{\dim U-1}$ given by $U$. Its coordinate ring is isomorphic to $\bigoplus_{i\ge 0} U^i$ where $U^i$ is the degree $i$ component. We consider the Hilbert function of this algebra in the case where $U$ contains a regular sequence, equivalently the map is a morphism, and find lower bounds for the dimension of the degree 2 component. We apply our bounds to study the boundary structure of certain convex sets, called Gram spectrahedra, which are linked to sum of squares representations of non-negative polynomials.
