Preparation of Large-scale Textural Microstructure Fe-based Metallic Composite by Centrifugal-SHS Method

Abstract:Using the alumino-thermic reaction system of (Fe2O3+Al), large-scale textural microstructure Fe-based metallic composite was prepared by centrifugal-SHS technique. The microstructure and phase structure of the composite were analyzed. The results show that, in the centrifugal direction, the coposite material has large-scale textural grains with preferred orientation, and the phase structure of matrix is a solid solution based on FeAl alloy with the BCC_B2 structure. The hardness of this material was measured, and the prospect of centrifugal-SHS technique was also discussed
