Institutional Change,Financial Structure and Economic Growth——The Empirical Studies Based on China

Abstract:This paper theoretically analyzes the interaction mechanism among institutional change,financial structure adjustment and economic growth,and empirically verifies that national institutional change inflicts promotion or restriction on financial structure adjustment and economic growth by introducing institution variable,which represents comprehensive institutional change,into models about financial structure and economic growth.This paper finds that,when it reaches the equilibrium between supply of institutions and demand of financial structure and economic growth on institutions,national institutions will optimize financial structure and stimulate economic growth,otherwise it appears to be the "inverse proportion" of scale and efficiency,which explains the paradox of scale and efficiency in transitional economies,and furthermore,this paper presents the path selection of financial structure upgrading in China and relevant policy proposals.
