Abstract:We prove a Harnack inequality for positive harmonic functions on graphs which is similar to a classical result of Yau on Riemannian manifolds. Also, we prove a mean value inequality of nonnegative subharmonic functions on graphs.

Abstract:In this paper, we carry out in-depth research centering around the Harnack inequality for positive solutions to nonlinear heat equation on Finsler metric measure manifolds with weighted Ricci curvature bounded below. Aim on this topic, we first give a volume comparison theorem of Bishop-Gromov type. Then we prove a weighted Poincaré inequality by using Whitney-type coverings technique and give a local uniform Sobolev inequality. Further, we obtain two mean value inequalities for positive subsolutions and supersolutions of a class of parabolic differential equations. From the mean value inequality, we also derive a local gradient estimate for positive solutions to heat equation. Finally, as the application of the mean value inequalities and weighted Poincaré inequality, we get the desired Harnack inequality for positive solutions to heat equation.

Abstract:Based on a global estimate of the heat kernel, some important inequalities such as Poincaré inequality and log-Sobolev inequality, furthermore a tight logarithm Sobolev inequality are presented on graphs, just under a positive curvature condition ′ (, ) with some > 0. As consequences, we obtain exponential integrability of integrable Lipschitz functions and moment bounds at the same assumption on graphs.

Abstract:We prove the Li-Yau gradient estimate for the heat kernel on graphs. The only assumption is a variant of the curvature-dimension inequality, which is purely local, and can be considered as a new notion of curvature for graphs. We compute this curvature for lattices and trees and conclude that it behaves more naturally than the already existing notions of curvature. Moreover, we show that if a graph has non-negative curvature then it has polynomial volume growth. We also derive Harnack inequalities and heat kernel bounds from the gradient estimate, and show how it can be used to strengthen the classical Buser inequality relating the spectral gap and the Cheeger constant of a graph.

In this note, we study a transition probability on the finite words space of an iterated function system, whose invariant set is the unit interval. Abstract:We study harmonic functions on general weighted graphs which allow for a compatible intrinsic metric. We prove an L^p Liouville type theorem which is a quantitative integral L^p estimate of harmonic functions analogous to Karp's theorem for Riemannian manifolds. As corollaries we obtain Yau's L^p-Liouville type theorem on graphs, identify the domain of the generator of the semigroup on L^p and get a criterion for recurrence. As a side product, we show an analogue of Yau's L^p Caccioppoli inequality. Furthermore, we derive various Liouville type results for harmonic functions on graphs and harmonic maps from graphs into Hadamard spaces.

Abstract:In this short note, we hope to give a rapid induction for non-experts into the world of Differential Harnack inequalities, which have been so influential in geometric analysis and probability theory over the past few decades. At the coarsest level, these are often mysterious-looking inequalities that hold for `positive' solutions of some parabolic PDE, and can be verified quickly by grinding out a computation and applying a maximum principle. In this note we emphasise the geometry behind the Harnack inequalities, which typically turn out to be assertions of the convexity of some natural object. As an application, we explain how Hamilton's Differential Harnack inequality for mean curvature flow of a $n$-dimensional submanifold of $R^{n+1}$ can be viewed as following directly from the well-known preservation of convexity under mean curvature flow, but this time of a $(n+1)$-dimensional submanifold of $R^{n+2}$. We also briefly survey the earlier work that led us to these observations.

Abstract:We prove an analogue of Yau's Caccioppoli-type inequality for nonnegative subharmonic functions on graphs. We then obtain a Liouville theorem for harmonic or non-negative subharmonic functions of class Lq, 1<=q<∞, on any graph, and a quantitative version for q > 1. Also, we provide counterexamples for Liouville theorems for 0 < q < 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we derive Li-Yau inequality for unbounded Laplacian on complete weighted graphs with the assumption of the curvature dimension inequality CDE′(n,K), which can be regarded as a notion of curvature on graphs. Furthermore, we obtain some applications of Li-Yau inequality, including Harnack inequality, heat kernel bounds and Cheng's eigenvalue estimate. These are the first kind of results in this direction for unbounded Laplacian on graphs.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish some Harnack type inequalities satisfied by positive solutions of nonlocal inhomogeneous equations arising in the description of various phenomena ranging from population dynamics to micro-magnetism. For regular domains, we also derive an inequality up to the boundary. The main difficulty in such context lies in a precise control of the solutions outside a compact set and the existence of local uniform estimates. We overcome this problem by proving a contraction result which makes the $L^1$ norms of the solutions on two compact sets $ø_1\subset\subsetø_2$ equivalent. We also construct the principal positive eigenfunctions associated to particular nonlocal operators by using the corresponding Harnack type inequalities.

Abstract:We establish various Hardy inequalities involving the distance function from submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds, where the natural weights are expressed in terms of bounds of the mean curvature of the submanifold and sectional/Ricci curvature of the ambient Riemannian manifold. Our approach is based on subtle Heintze-Karcher-type Laplace comparisons of the distance function and on a D'Ambrosio-Dipierro-type weak divergence formula for suitable vector fields, providing Barbatis-Filippas-Tertikas-type Hardy inequalities in the curved setting. Under very mild assumptions, we also establish the sharpness and non-existence of extremal functions within the Hardy inequalities and - depending on the geometry of the ambient manifold - their extensibility to various function spaces. Several examples are provided by showing the applicability of our approach; in particular, well-known Hardy inequalities appear as limit cases of our new inequalities.

Abstract: This paper is devoted to various applications of Hardy-Sobolev type inequalities. We derive a new $L^2$ estimate for the $\bar{\partial}-$equation on ${\mathbb C}^n$ which yields a quantitative generalization of the Hartogs extension theorem to the case when the singularity set is not necessary compact. We show that for any negative subharmonic function $\psi$ on ${\mathbb R}^n$, $n>2$, the BMO norm of $\log |\psi|$ is bounded above by $2\sqrt{n-2}$ and $|\psi|^\gamma$ satisfies a reverse H\"older inequality for every $0<\gamma<1$. We also show that every plurisubharmonic function is locally BMO. Several Liouville theorems for subharmonic functions on complete Riemannian manifolds are given. As a consequence, we get a Margulis type theorem that if a bounded domain in ${\mathbb C}^n$ covers a Zariski open set in a projective algebraic variety, then the group of deck transformations of the covering has trivial center.
