Abstract:We introduce the curvature (and the flow curvature) for graphs, which allow us to prove several Harnack inequalities for general graphs (which are not necessarily regular). We first show that for a graph with curvature kappa, the combinatorial eigenfunction f associated with eigenvalue. satisfies lambda for any edge {x, y},| f(x) - f(y)|(2) <= (8 lambda+ 4 kappa) d(max)where max(x) |f(x)| = max(x) f(x) = 1 and d(max) denotes the maximum degree. The above inequality is used to prove a a strengthened inequality which implies that the 'stretches' of edges determined by eigenfunctions are particularly 'small' (in terms of the associated eigenvalue and curvature) near the maximum point. Namely, for a graph with curvature kappa the combinatorial eigenfunction f associated with eigenvalue. satisfies lambda for any edge {x, y},|f(x) -f(y)|(2) <= c(1)lambda + c(2)kappa/beta-1 (beta-f(x))(2)where c(5) >= beta >= 1 + c(3)lambda + c(4)kappa and c's are constants depending only on the maximum degree of the graph.

Abstract:We give a generalizations of lower Ricci curvature bound in the framework of graphs. We prove that the Ricci curvature in the sense of Bakry and Emery is bounded below by $-1$ on locally finite graphs. The Ricci flat graph in the sense of Chung and Yau is proved to be a graph with Ricci curvature bounded below by zero. We also get an estimate for the eigenvalue of Laplace operator on finite graphs: $$\lambda\ge {1\over d D(\exp( d D+1)-1)},$$ where $d$ is the weighted degree of $G$, and $D$ is the diameter of $G$.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a reverse Hölder inequality for the eigenfunction of the Dirichlet problem on domains of a compact Riemannian manifold with the integral Ricci curvature condition. We also prove an isoperimetric inequality for the torsional rigidity of such domains. These results extend some recent work of Gamara et al. (Open Math. 13(1), 557–570, 2015) and Colladay et al. (J. Geom. Anal. 28(4), 3906–3927, 2018) from the pointwise lower Ricci curvature bound to the integral Ricci curvature condition. We also extend the results from Laplacian to p-Laplacian.

Abstract:In this work we establish a sharp geometric inequality for closed hypersurfaces in complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds with asymptotically nonnegative curvature using standard comparison methods in Riemannian Geometry. These methods have been applied in a recent work by Xiaodong Wang to greatly simplify the proof of a Willmore-type inequality in complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds of nonnegative Ricci curvature, which was first proved by Agostiniani, Fagagnolo and Mazzieri.

Abstract:In this paper, we derive Li-Yau inequality for unbounded Laplacian on complete weighted graphs with the assumption of the curvature dimension inequality CDE′(n,K), which can be regarded as a notion of curvature on graphs. Furthermore, we obtain some applications of Li-Yau inequality, including Harnack inequality, heat kernel bounds and Cheng's eigenvalue estimate. These are the first kind of results in this direction for unbounded Laplacian on graphs.

Abstract:Let $M$ be an $m (\ge2)$-dimensional closed orientable submanifold in an $n$-dimensional complete simply-connected Riemannian manifold $N$, where the sectional curvature of $N$ is bounded above by $\delta$. When $\delta<0$, inspired by Niu-Xu (arXiv:2106.01912), we give new upper bounds for the first nonzero eigenvalues of the $p$-Laplacian and the $L_T$ operator, respectively. These generalize Niu-Xu's work for the Laplacian (arXiv:2106.01912) and improve the estimates due to Chen (Nonlinear Anal.,196, 111833, 2020) for the $p$-Laplacian and Grosjean (Hokkaido Math. J., 33(2) , 319-339, 2004) for the $L_T$ operator, respectively. We also obtain several Reilly-type inequalities for the weighted manifolds and some boundary value problems.

Abstract:We prove the Li-Yau gradient estimate for the heat kernel on graphs. The only assumption is a variant of the curvature-dimension inequality, which is purely local, and can be considered as a new notion of curvature for graphs. We compute this curvature for lattices and trees and conclude that it behaves more naturally than the already existing notions of curvature. Moreover, we show that if a graph has non-negative curvature then it has polynomial volume growth. We also derive Harnack inequalities and heat kernel bounds from the gradient estimate, and show how it can be used to strengthen the classical Buser inequality relating the spectral gap and the Cheeger constant of a graph.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a simple formula for computing the Lin-Lu-Yau Ricci curvature on graphs. For any edge $xy$ in a simple locally finite graph $G$, the curvature $\kappa(x,y)$ can be expressed as a cost function of an optimal bijection between two blow-up sets of the neighbors of $x$ and $y$. Utilizing this approach, we derive several results including a structural theorem for the Bonnet-Myers sharp irregular graphs of diameter $3$ and a theorem on $C_3$-free Bonnet-Myers sharp graphs.

Abstract:Abstract The coarse Ricci curvature of graphs introduced by Ollivier as well as its modification by Lin–Lu– Yau have been studied from various aspects. In this paper, we propose a new transport distance appropriate for hypergraphs and study a generalization of Lin–Lu–Yau type curvature of hypergraphs. As an application, we derive a Bonnet–Myers type estimate for hypergraphs under a lower Ricci curvature bound associated with our transport distance. We remark that our transport distance is new even for graphs and worthy of further study.
