Abstract:We prove several Liouville theorems for F -harmonic maps from some complete Riemannian manifolds by assuming some conditions on the Hessian of the distance function, the degrees of F ( t ) and the asymptotic behavior of the maps at infinity. In particular, the results can be applied to F -harmonic maps from some pinched manifolds, and can deduce a Bernstein type result for an entire minimal graph.

Abstract:A fundamental theorem of Liouville asserts that positive entire harmonic functions in Euclidean spaces must be constant. A remarkable Liouville-type theorem of Caffarelli-Gidas-Spruck states that positive entire solutions of $-\Delta u=u^{ {(n+2)}/{(n-2)} }$, $n\ge 3$, are unique modulo Möbius transformations. Far-reaching extensions were established for general fully nonlinear conformally invariant equations through the works of Chang-Gursky-Yang, Li-Li, Li, and Viaclovsky. In this paper, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of such Liouville-type theorems. This leads to necessary and sufficient conditions for local gradient estimates of solutions to hold, assuming a one-sided bound on the solutions, for a wide class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations involving Schouten tensors. A pivotal advancement in proving these Liouville-type theorems is our enhanced understanding of solutions to such equations near isolated singularities. In particular, we utilize earlier results of Caffarelli-Li-Nirenberg on lower- and upper-conical singularities. For general conformally invariant fully nonlinear elliptic equations, we prove that a viscosity super- (sub-)solution can be extended across an isolated singularity if and only if it is a lower- (upper-)conical singularity. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions for lower- (upper-)conical behavior of a function near isolated singularities in terms of its conformal Hessian. As an application of our Liouville theorems and local gradient estimates, we establish new existence and compactness results for conformal metrics on a closed Riemannian manifold with prescribed symmetric functions of the Schouten (Ricci) tensor, allowing the scalar curvature of the conformal metrics to have varying signs.

Abstract:We show that the Dirichlet problem at infinity is unsolvable for the p-Laplace equation for any nonconstant continuous boundary data, for certain range of p>n, on an n-dimensional Cartan-Hadamard manifold constructed from a complete noncompact shrinking gradient Ricci soliton. Using the steady gradient Ricci soliton, we find an incomplete Riemannian metric on ${\mathbb R}^2$ with positive Gauss curvature such that every positive p-harmonic function must be constant for $p\geq 4$.

Abstract:In this paper, we will study harmonic functions on the complete and incomplete spaces with nonnegative Ricci curvature which exhibit inhomogeneous collapsing behaviors at infinity. The main result states that any nonconstant harmonic function on such spaces yields a definite exponential growth rate which depends explicitly on the geometric data at infinity.

Abstract:In this note we will provide a gradient estimate for harmonic maps from a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold with compact boundary (which we call "Kasue manifold") into a simply connected complete Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. As a consequence, we can obtain a Liouville theorem. We will also show the nonexistence of positive solutions to some linear elliptic equation on Kasue manifold.

Abstract:When the domain is a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Bakry--Emery Ricci curvature and the target is a complete Riemannian manifold with sectional curvature bounded above by a positive constant, by carrying out refined gradient estimates, we obtain a better Liouville theorem for ancient solutions to the V-harmonic map heat flows. Furthermore, we can also derive a Liouville theorem for quasi-harmonic maps under an exponential growth condition.

Abstract:This work deals with the Entire solutions of a nonlinear equation. The first part of this paper is devoted to investigation of the Liouville property on compact manifolds, which extends a result by Castorina-Mantegazza [4] for positive f. Secondly, we will turn to non-compact manifolds and prove a Liouville theorem under the assumptions of boundedness of the Ricci curvature from below, diffeomorphism of M with R^N and sub-criticality of p defined below. Finally, we also present simplified proofs of Yau's theorem for harmonic function and Gidas-Spruck's theorem for elliptic semilinear equation. Our proofs are based on Li-Yau type estimation for nonlinear equations.

Abstract:We use maximum principle to give a new proof for the Liouville theorem of the equation $\Delta u + u^{\alpha} = 0, u \geq 0 , 0 < \alpha < \frac{n + 2}{n - 2}$ in $\mathbb R^n$. Besides we can use this method to prove the Liouville theorem of the equation $\Delta U + b\cdot \nabla U + h U^{\alpha} = 0, U \geq 0, 0 < \alpha < \frac{n + 2}{n - 2}$ on the complete Riemannian manifold.

Abstract:Let $V$ be a $C^1$-vector field on an $n$-dimensional complete Riemannian manifold $(M, g)$. We prove a Liouville theorem for $V$-harmonic maps satisfying various growth conditions from complete Riemannian manifolds with non-negative $(m, V)$-Ricci curvature for $m\in\,[\,-\infty,\,0\,]\,\cup\,[\,n,\,+\infty\,]$ into Cartan-Hadam\-ard manifolds, which extends Cheng's Liouville theorem proved S.~Y.~Cheng for sublinear growth harmonic maps from complete Riemannian manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature into Cartan-Hadamard manifolds. We also prove a Liouville theorem for $V$-harmonic maps from complete Riemannian manifolds with non-negative $(m, V)$-Ricci curvature for $m\in\,[\,-\infty,\,0\,]\,\cup\,[\,n,\,+\infty\,]$ into regular geodesic balls of Riemannian manifolds with positive upper sectional curvature bound, which extends the results of Hildebrandt-Jost-Wideman and Choi. Our probabilistic proof of Liouville theorem for several growth $V$-harmonic maps into Hadamard manifolds enhances an incomplete argument by Stafford. Our results extend the results due to Chen-Jost-Qiu\cite{ChenJostQiu} and Qiu\cite{Qiu} in the case of $m=+\infty$ on the Liouville theorem for bounded $V$-harmonic maps from complete Riemannian manifolds with non-negative $(\infty, V)$-Ricci curvature into regular geodesic balls of Riemannian manifolds with positive sectional curvature upper bound. Finally, we establish a connection between the Liouville property of $V$-harmonic maps and the recurrence property of $\Delta_V$-diffusion processes on manifolds. Our results are new even in the case $V=\nabla f$ for $f\in C^2(M)$.

In the half space, we establish a Liouville type theorem without any assumption of integrability by combining the direct method of moving planes and moving spheres, which improves the result proved by W. Dai, Z. Liu, and G. Lu ("Liouville type theorems for PDE and IE systems involving fractional Laplacian on a half space," Potential Anal. , vol. 46, pp. 569â€“588, 2017).

Abstract:We establish existence and uniqueness theorems for V -harmonic maps from complete noncompact manifolds. This class of maps includes Hermitian harmonic maps, Weyl harmonic maps, affine harmonic maps, and Finsler harmonic maps from a Finsler manifold into a Riemannian manifold. We also obtain a Liouville type theorem for V -harmonic maps. In addition, we prove a V -Laplacian comparison theorem under the Bakry-Emery Ricci condition.

Abstract:We prove some Liouville type results for generalized holomorphic maps in three classes: maps from pseudo-Hermitian manifolds to almost Hermitian manifolds, maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to pseudo-Hermitian manifolds and maps from pseudo-Hermitian manifolds to pseudo-Hermitian manifolds, assuming that the domains are compact. For instance, we show that any $(J,J^N)$ holomorphic map from a compact pseudo-Hermitian manifold $M$ with nonnegative (resp. positive) pseudo-Hermitian sectional curvature to an almost Hermitian manifold $N$ with negative (resp. nonpositive) holomorphic sectional curvature is constant. We also construct explicit almost CR structures on a complex vector bundle over an almost CR manifold.

Abstract:We establish three circles theorems for subharmonic functions on Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature, as well as on gradient shrinking Ricci solitons with scalar curvature bounded from below by $\frac{n-2}{2}$. We also establish a three circiles theorem for holomorphic functions on gradient shrinking Kähler-Ricci solitons with some curvature conditions. Abstract:In this paper, we study $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')_{p}$-harmonic maps between foliated Riemannian manifolds $(M,g,\mathcal F)$ and $(M',g',\mathcal F')$. A $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')_{p}$-harmonic map $\phi:(M,g,\mathcal F)\to (M', g',\mathcal F')$ is a critical point of the transversal $p$-energy functional $E_{B,p}$. Trivially, $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')_2$-harmonic map is $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')$-harmonic map, which is a critical point of $E_B$. There is another definition of a harmonic map on foliated Riemannian manifolds, called transversally harmonic map, which is a solution of the Euler-Largrange equation $\tau_b(\phi)=0$. Two definitions are not equivalent, but if $\mathcal F$ is minimal, then two definitons are equivalent. Firstly, we give the first and second variational formulas for $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')_{p}$-harmonic maps. Next, we investigate the generalized Weitzenb\"ock type formula and the Liouville type theorem for $(\mathcal F,\mathcal F')_{p}$-harmonic map.

Abstract:We prove a Liouville-type theorem for biharmonic maps from a complete Riemannian manifold of dimension $n$ that has a lower bound on its Ricci curvature and positive injectivity radius into a Riemannian manifold whose sectional curvature is bounded from above. Under these geometric assumptions we show that if the $L^p$-norm of the tension field is bounded and the $n$-energy of the map is sufficiently small then every biharmonic map must be harmonic, where $2<p<n$.
