Abstract:Z. Zhou et al. proved that in a Teichmuller equivalence class, there exists an extremal quasiconformal mapping with a weakly non-decreasable dilatation. In this paper, we prove that in an infinitesimal equivalence class, there exists a weakly non-decreasable extremal Beltrami differential.

Abstract:Let Q(Delta) be the set of all integrable holomorphic quadratic differentials on the unit disk A. The subset Q(0)(Delta) of Q(Delta) is the set associated with T-0 classes in the universal Teichmuller space T(Delta). In this paper, it is shown that Q(0)(Delta) is dense in Q(Delta). The infinitesimal version is also obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, it is shown that some necessary characteristic conditions for unique extremality obtained by Zhu and Chen are also sufficient and some sufficient ones by them actually imply that the uniquely extremal Beltrami differentials have a constant modulus. Abstract:We show that for many strata of Abelian differentials in low genus the sum of Lyapunov exponents for the Teichmueller geodesic flow is the same for all Teichmueller curves in that stratum, hence equal to the sum of Lyapunov exponents for the whole stratum. This behavior is due to the disjointness property of Teichmueller curves with various geometrically defined divisors on moduli spaces of curves.

Abstract:In this paper, we will study the differentiability on the boundary of solutions of elliptic non-divergence differential equations on convex domains. The results are divided into two cases: (i) at the boundary points where the blow-up of the domain is not the half-space, if the boundary function is differentiable then the solution is differentiable; (ii) at the boundary points where the blow-up of the domain is the half-space, the differentiability of the solution needs an extra Dini condition for the boundary function. Counterexample is given to show that our results are optimal.

Abstract:Abstract In this article we show that for every finite area hyperbolic surface X of type ( g , n ) {(g,n)} and any harmonic Beltrami differential μ on X, then the magnitude of μ at any point of small injectivity radius is uniform bounded from above by the ratio of the Weil–Petersson norm of μ over the square root of the systole of X up to a uniform positive constant multiplication. We apply the uniform bound above to show that the Weil–Petersson Ricci curvature, restricted at any hyperbolic surface of short systole in the moduli space, is uniformly bounded from below by the negative reciprocal of the systole up to a uniform positive constant multiplication. As an application, we show that the average total Weil–Petersson scalar curvature over the moduli space is uniformly comparable to - g {-g} as the genus g goes to infinity.

Abstract:Let R be a hyperbolic Riemann surface. Suppose the Teichmuller space T(R) of R is infinite-dimensional. Let mu be an extremal Beltrami coefficient on R and let [mu] be the point in T(R). In this note, it is shown that if mu is not uniquely extremal, then there exists an extremal Beltrarni coefficient v in [mu] with non-constant modulus. As an application, it follows, as is well known, that there exist infinitely many geodesics between [mu] and the base point [0] in T(R) if mu is non-uniquely extremal.

Abstract:In this paper we provide new examples of geometrically trivial strongly minimal differential algebraic varieties living on nonisotrivial curves over differentially closed fields of characteristic zero. Our technique involves developing a theory of Kodaira-Spencer forms and building connections to deformation theory. In our development, we answer several open questions posed by Rosen and some natural questions about Manin kernels.

Abstract:Let T(Δ) and B(Δ) be the Teichmüller space and the infinitesimal Teichmüller space of the unit disk Δ respectively. In this paper, we show that [ν] B(Δ) being an infinitesimal Strebel point does not imply that [ν] T(Δ) is a Strebel point, vice versa. As an application of our results, problems proposed by Yao are solved.

Abstract:We introduce a new class of triangulated categories, which are Verdier quotients of three-Calabi-Yau categories from (decorated) marked surfaces, and show that its spaces of stability conditions can be identified with moduli spaces of framed quadratic differentials on Riemann surfaces with arbitrary order zeros and arbitrary higher order poles. A main tool in our proof is a comparison of two exchange graphs, obtained by tilting hearts in the quotient categories and by flipping mixed angulations associated with the quadratic differentials.

Abstract:We provide conditions for a compact gradient hyperbolic Ricci and a compact gradient hyperbolic Yamabe soliton to be trivial, hence, the manifold to be an Einstein manifold in the first case, and a manifold of constant scalar curvature, in the second case. In particular, we prove that for a compact gradient hyperbolic Yamabe soliton of dimension $>2$, if the second Lie derivative of the metric in the direction of the potential vector field is trace-free and divergence-free, then the above conclusion is reached.

Abstract:Let be a bi-complete duality pair. We consider when the relative Gorenstein modules with respect to such a duality pair coincide with the classical homological modules. As applications, we characterize (weak) global dimension via such a duality pair, characterize strongly CM-freeness of flat-typed -Gorenstein rings and obtain the compactly-generatedness of some relative derived categories. Applying the results into frequent duality pairs, our results unify the corresponding results for Gorenstein AC-modules and Ding modules.
