Abstract:The issue of boiler scheme design from the methodological view was described and the boiler scheme design process was divided into four sub-activities,i.e., scheme construction,scheme analysis,scheme evaluation,and scheme adjustment. The object-oriented knowledge representation method was used to construct the design object model of boiler intelligent computer-aided design(CAD) system,composed of attribute space,relationship space,rule space,constraint space,case space,and method space,and the intelligent boiler CAD process was explained by means of this model.A general technical approach to the intelligent boiler CAD was proposed,intelligently constructing the scheme based on case knowledge,intelligently analyzing the scheme based on definite method knowledge,intelligently evaluating the scheme based on constraint knowledge,and intelligently adjusting the scheme based on rule knowledge.The main framework prototype of this intelligent boiler CAD system was developed and part of its function has been applied to engineering practices.It turned out that the above technologies and methods fit the practical requirement and can support the development of intelligent boiler CAD system effectively.

Abstract:It is difficult to design the structure of boiler steel framework with traditional mechanical method,while Finite Element Method is a powerful modern way to deal with complicated mechanics problems.This paper illustrates how to accomplish the structure design work of boiler steel framework with FEM by I-DEAS of UGS,and discusses those key technologies applied in building the FE model,in addition,a successful analysis project is provided as a case study.

Abstract:Boiler product design usually needs reference to previous design cases. Considering this characteristic, the technology and methods for managing boiler design calculation cases were proposed. A case library of boiler design calculation was established by database technology to store and share various design calculation models and results in the boiler manufacturing enterprise, as well as the feedback information about boiler operating and monitoring. By adopting project and scheme as logical unit, the physical structure model and corresponding database design model of the case library were designed. The information management and synchronization between client and server was discussed. The method for retrieving similar reference cases based on nearest neighbor algorithm was studied. Research and application practices show that the proposed technology and methods are efficient for developing the case management system for boiler design calculation, and beneficial to accumulate product design knowledge in boiler manufacturing enterprises and improve the manufacturers' design level.

Abstract:A monitoring control system of ZH-2060 large vacuum brazing furnace based on Honeywell PlantScape Process/S9000 was designed.The configuration of the control system was elaborated.The control system uses the concomitant method of manual control system and automatic control system,which can carry out automatic brazing of single and multiple products according to the scheduled curve of vacuum brazing process.A method of combining furnace temperature control and workpiece temperature control to complete automatic brazing was put forward,which can satisfy the requirement of the uniformity of workpiece temperature control and realize high production efficiency.

Abstract:physical model of heat transfer in boiler was analyzed, the software object model of said heat transfer has been established by adopting object-oriented technology, and the crucial technical aspects for creating models have been discussed. On these grounds, a universal software for thermodynamic calculation of heat transfer in boilers was designed, being suitable for various kinds and types of boilers, as well as for various fuels and user's parameters.

Abstract:Boilers are key industrial equipment in the field of modern manufacturing. In this study, rule-based reasoning (RBR) and case-based reasoning (CBR) are applied into the boiler intelligent design. RBR is adopted to perform like a “sieve” for the acquisition of candidate structure modules. Then, fuzzy comprehensive assessment method is used to select an optimal structure module among the candidates. The optimal structure module is subjected to the CBR process, which includes modification and case retention. It is a minor adjustment process that needs a great amount of prior knowledge. The case retention process gives the system a self-enrich function, which will improve the design ability of the system with continuous use of the system. A case study is presented to validate the correctness and efficiency of proposed method.

Abstract:Fuzzy comprehensive assessment method was proposed to realize the boiler intelligent design.The proposed assessment method was based on the rule-based reasoning(RBR) and case-based reasoning(CBR) theory.The definition of boiler design parameters and detailed description of boiler design process were given.The design method of combining fuzzy comprehensive assessment and reasoning model was demonstrated to be feasible in theory.A reasonable research idea was given for the boiler intelligent design.The success of the boiler design example proved the correctness and availability of the proposed method in actual field.Meantime,some preconditions were given during the process of the design example.The conclusion reveals that the proposed design method has a high reference value to the boiler intelligent design with CAD.

Abstract:The parametric model and the parametric drive mechanism of the mould board were established.The data share mechanism and calling mechanism between CAD and CAE programs were also discussed and implemented.An integrated design software-HTFXS1.0,based on the UG and ANSYS,was developed in the environment of VC++.Finally the module of parameterized CAD and the CAE programs were integrated,which was appiled to real mould board of HTF530 injection machine.

Abstract:In this paper, automatic modeling techniques in intelligent CAD systems are discussed and a multi-blackboard based modeling method is presented. It supports modeling with multilevel accuracy and can convert abstract symbolbased description of a design object into the desired 3D model. These characteristics meet the modeling requirements for supporting the overall design process and are suitable for intelligent CAD systems. We implement them in an intelligent chair design system, AUTOCHAIR.

Abstract:This paper represented an integrated product information model, based on the characteristic of the boiler conceptual design. It defined “structure module” to organize product information in both functional and physical domain in a multilevel manner. The mapping of “function-structure” was built at different levels, and was solved by using the cycle of “structure assumption - performance analysis - structural adjustment”. It also provided detailed descriptions of the parametric for basic structure and structure module. At last, the rapid design of conventional products was achieved based on the product case base.

Abstract:Based on the characteristics of plate-fin heat exchangers,a CAD system was developed with parametric technique and ObjectARX combined with programming language Visual C++,which has integrated the following two advantages-one is powerful image displaying and compiling functions under AutoCAD ambient,the other is object-oriented programming and high efficiency of Visual C++.Thus,the rapid innovation of plate-fin heat exchanger can be realized by this system in conjunction with heat calculation module and rapid pricing system of plate-fin heat exchanger formerly proposed by the authors.

Abstract:On the basis of developing CFB boiler used for 210 MW unit,the key technologies of manufacturing large CFB boilers has been systematically studied,and the schematic design of home-made CFB boiler for 330 MW unit being carried out,the structure design of key components and scaling-up characters being analysed and numerically simulated.Results in practical operation show that the first home-made CFB boiler for 330 MW unit boasts uniform fluidization,stable bed body,as well as good characters for adjustment of bed temperature and steam temperature,each parameter of performance reaches the designed value.At the same time,it shows that the key technologies of large-capacity CFB boilers have been completely mastered in China.
Integration of CAD/CAE System for Casting Process Design

Abstract:Concurrent engineering is needed to modernize the foundry industry and to reduce the scrap from castings and thus increase the economic profit. This paper presents an integrated 3-D CAD/CAE system for a foundry using concurrent engineering which considers casting structure, casting type, and manufacturing properties in the CAD module to design the pouring system, the riser, the chill core and so on. A visualized solid model is developed for the casting component with the model design enhanced by CAE analysis. Heat transfer and fluid flow simulation are used to analyze the initial design. The whole product development process is analyzed using concurrent engineering methods. The application shows that the integrated system can improve the efficiency of the design and manufacturing process of die casting.

Abstract:Aiming at the complex properties of the boiler combustion system, such as multi-variables, close-coupling, strong-disturbances and long-time delay etc, by combining the fuzzy control with self-searching optimum, the strategy of steam pressure-hearth temperature fuzzy-cascade control with oxygen content and hearth negative pressure optimized within limits has been designed, and implementation scheme based on JX-300XP DCS has been provided. Application shows that this control scheme had a strong anti-jamming ability, realized the three main tasks of the boiler combustion control preferably.

Abstract:This paper presents an object-oriented system architecture based on analysis of currently available CAD systems. Within this architecture, the concept of data and execution are united as objects, so the openness of system is guaranteed fundamentally. The constitutes of this architecture and its open characteristics are described. The basic resource definition of CAD system is also considered, and finally, the overall development procedure based on this architecture is discussed and implemented in GHMDS, which is the largest software product of CAD in China.
