Abstract:In order to solve the problems of applying OPC (OLE for process control) technology to remote supervision, this paper proposes a new framework of distributed fieldbus remote monitoring system based on the Windows DNA(distributed Internet applications architecture) developing model, which adopts the XML (extensible markup language) and SOAP (simple object access protocol) technology as communication mechanism of distributed components. This new framework not only has a favorable extension ability, but also solves the problems appearing in traditional monitoring systems and makes fieldbus remote supervision possible.

Abstract:Workflow developed through several decades. With the appearance of the advanced technology, workflow is also changing quickly. The model of web services workflow has been proposed, but it is not used to the realistic application. Our work is to construct a web services workflow based on XML Process Define Language (XPDL). By virtue of two tools, workflow will enter the web stage, and theory is applied to concrete applications.Web Services use a loosely coupled integration model to allow flexible integration of heterogeneous systems in a variety of domains including business-to-consumer, business-to-business and enterprise application integration. XPDL is a kind of language standard that is used to define workflow process. It and web services are both based on XML standard. So they will be propitious to construct the strong workflow system in the web. The whole framework of system is put forward, and some arisen problem about technology will be solved.

Abstract:Web Services are self-contained, modular applications that can be described, published, located, and invoked over a network, generally, the Web. Yet the problem emerges as different Web Services interoperate each other. In this paper we recommend the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)[1] as the communication standard in the Web Services Architecture to solve the problem.First, we describe what is Web Services and present the architecture of it. Then, according to the challenge that Web Services faces, we address the key enabling technologies of which SOAP be composed. SOAP has many advantages that other binary protocols, such as Java RMI, do not have. Finally, by introducing an E-business model based on the integration of SOAP, UDDI [2], MQ [3] etc., we show the manner and flow of SOAP to implement Web Services architecture.

Abstract:One of the key technologies for distributed integrated manufacturing systems is to realize automatic transmission and conversion of product data among distributed and heterogeneous systems like CAD, CAPP, CAM, CAE, etc. This paper presents an Internet-based framework of product data exchange and the architecture of the framework, which uses Internet/CORBA as the communication platform and XML as product data exchange language. This framework within which, conversion of other data formats to XML format is implemented by software agents, supports exchange of structured and non-structured product data.

Abstract:With the development of information technology, the demands for product specifications and customizations have attracted much attention in recent years. The traditional manufacturing systems struggle to face the fast-moving market conditions because they are specifically tailored in demand. To strengthen the flexibility and interoperability of the assets, Industry 4.0 (I4.0) proposes the concept of Asset Administration Shell (AAS), which provides digital representations for industrial assets. Although the content of AAS has been discussed from different perspectives, there is no standard implementation method for a general AAS currently. In this paper, we propose an AAS implementation method based on OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA), which realizes the virtualization of industrial assets and shields the underlying protocols. It simultaneously provides a solution to the interconnection and interoperability of industrial network devices. Furthermore, a hierarchical asset management architecture based on AAS is designed to improve the management of industrial assets, laying the foundation for flexible manufacturing.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel Web Service based distributed collaborative CAD system employing feature as its collaborative design element and uses XML to define feature operations and communication protocol between the server and the client. To reduce network load and increase response ability of the system, the feature information is updated incrementally on the client. The system supports collaborative designing on heterogeneous platforms. Its framework and communication protocols are analyzed in detail. The experimental results from the developed prototype system showed that it can effectively support collaborative design under the distributed environment.

Abstract:This paper deals with the data exchange issue in the automation of power systems. We present a new concept of OPC-based data engine, including the formalization description, the unified data access (UDA) model and the implementation details. With the help of a simple UDA model, data sets, data sources and their relationships are described in a universal way; thus, a uniform process is achieved to access data from the model. The designed data engine greatly reduces the complexity of a system, working as a bridge between various data sources and applications. In particular, the OPC interfaces of a data engine provide an efficient, consistent way to exchange information with other applications. It can be seamlessly integrated into the applications that are compatible with the OPC specification. Evaluation results show that the performance and throughput of the designed data engine are quite satisfactory.

Abstract:In this paper, an intensive research was made into the OPC technology and the OPC Data access specification, then the application of OPC communications in the supervisory system of marine electrical propulsion was proposed to achieve data exchange between the field control station and operator station. The OPC Server was used to collect the state and key parameters of the control system, and the OPC client communication program was realized in the Delphi7.0 IDE, thus completing the supervisory and management of entire marine electrical propulsion system. Experimental results showed that the client has improved considerably in timeliness and satisfied the requirements of ship electric propulsion supervisory system which was more flexible and extensible.
