Abstract:This paper introduces the new development of OPC specification. It mainly introduces the new generation XML-DA specification and its characteristics in detail. Abstract:In order to solve the problems of applying OPC (OLE for process control) technology to remote supervision, this paper proposes a new framework of distributed fieldbus remote monitoring system based on the Windows DNA(distributed Internet applications architecture) developing model, which adopts the XML (extensible markup language) and SOAP (simple object access protocol) technology as communication mechanism of distributed components. This new framework not only has a favorable extension ability, but also solves the problems appearing in traditional monitoring systems and makes fieldbus remote supervision possible.

Abstract:Information exchange is crucial not only among computers of the same workgroup, but also among the computers distributed in all over the world on Internet.It is difficult for computers to process large amounts of HTML-coded information resource to facilitate information exchange effectively. XML differs from HTML in that it separates data and formatting instructions. As a result, it is being adopted universally as a means of automatically exchanging data on the Internet. However, XML's lack of semantics prevents distributed computers from reliably performing information exchange on a semantic level.Recently, ontology has become an interesting area in knowledge study. In computer science, ontology is a formal specification. of a shared conceptualization. Web Ontology Language (OWL) such as DAML+OIL can be regarded as the languages based on Web standards for describing ontologies. DAML+OIL provides a specification framework for independently creating, maintaining, and interoperating ontologies while preserving their semantics.This article focuses on product information representation and exchange using from XML to OWL, and shows the value and significance of OWL for distributed information exchange. Lastly, a framework for OWL-based product information exchange is presented, and the peer-to-peer computing used in the framework's ontology layer is introduced.

This software package has been successfully applied on the vinyl chloride rectifying equipment in Qindao Chemical Factory. China. Abstract: In this paper, a brand-new web architecture model based on XML is presented. First, an open framework of browser is provided which can add in new XML-based markup language support easily by plugging a browser extension. In this framework, we use browser extension to access the XML document via DOM interface and to manipulate the visualized page via VPOM (Visualized Page Object Module) interface. On the other hand, to support the client requirement, an XML repository should be built. It can manage XML objects storage/access as well as support XML queries with high performance. This repository should be capable of inter-operating with other repository, which is compliant with our repository access interface standard.

Abstract:One of the key technologies for distributed integrated manufacturing systems is to realize automatic transmission and conversion of product data among distributed and heterogeneous systems like CAD, CAPP, CAM, CAE, etc. This paper presents an Internet-based framework of product data exchange and the architecture of the framework, which uses Internet/CORBA as the communication platform and XML as product data exchange language. This framework within which, conversion of other data formats to XML format is implemented by software agents, supports exchange of structured and non-structured product data.

Abstract:New document formats (such as OOXML, XPS, ePub, etc.) commonly use XML documents for descriptions and package in ZIP format, keeping data description being separated with display description. However, facing the developing document applications, the well-known ZIP format shows many deficiencies. Zip does not support incremental edit with revisions, random access while downloading, more efficient XML compression algorithms or fine-grained security policy, etc. A file package format named XDA is introduced. New features are detailed including data linearization for streaming download, incremental edit, and flexible efficient compression and encryption. Experiments show advantages of these features for document applications.

Abstract:This paper proposes a XML-based power heterogeneous data integrating framework. The tool uses XML to describe and model the objects of power system in a similar way with rational database. It helps transform the heterogeneous data belonging to different power organizations to the data with uniform format stored as XML files. The tool can enable the heterogeneous data integrating and exchanging of power system. Thus various distributed application can be developed base on this framework. The practical application proved the efficiency of proposed framework.

Abstract:As the most important RET (Resolution Enhancement Technology), OPC (Optical Proximity Correction) technology has been widely used in today's IC manufacturing and is still developing very fast both in its principle and its practice. In this invited paper, key techniques of OPC are classified and overviewed; progresses of OPC technology in recent years published in major SPIE symposiums are reviewed as well. Recent research results produced by Zhejiang University's team are described and reviewed with highlighting. An OPC tool suite named ZOPC, which has been designed to enable new OPC techniques to be integrated into one platform, is presented. The framework of ZOPC as well as its working scheme is demonstrated with real examples.
