Abstract:As a standard for data exchanging in the network,XML data is increasing in highly speed.It becomes very eagerly to manage the XML data via RDBMS.In this paper,a middleware implement framework of XML data management is proposed,with utilizing some special mapping methods,parsing the schema files,and then producing the corresponding relational schemas to store and manage XML data in a RDBMS.Users can operate the XML data by XML operations without awaring of anything about the RDBMS.This framework is easy to be extended in the future because of its flexible structure.

Abstract:Representing the sharing and exchanging data with machine-readable format allows cooperative task automation. In this paper we propose an XML schema and semantic based relational data translation approach, which aims at providing a coherent and meaningful view of the relational data and enabling distributed users to cooperate on large data volumes online. We define a directed-graph data model as the common data model, present a key-based relational schema reverse reconstruction arithmetic to capture the full structures and semantic constraints in relational schema, and propose a constraints-preserving mapping algorithm to translate relational data into the global XML representations.

Abstract:Facing with dominant status of relational database, although XML has turned into an standard of data exchange in fact, we have to switch data from one to another. Firstly, this paper gives a simple data exchange model between XML and relational data. Then it puts forward an effeetive method, which makes the model come true, and is based on open-source software.

Abstract:SQL Server 2005,which is the latest database system product of Microsoft,provides strong support for XML.In this paper,we study the underlying mechanism of access methods for XML in SQL Server 2005.By its unique coding schemes ORDPATH and primary XML index together with other secondary indexes,SQL Server 2005 is able to access XML data efficiently,guarantees the efficiency of XML query and integrates XML data and relational data seamlessly.

Abstract:XML is the standard format for cross-platform data release and exchange in Internet and is widely applied in the database field. However,the tree structure of XML document differs from the table structure of relational database greatly,so some special disposals are needed when storing XML documents into the relational database. The way of storage and management of XML documents in the relational database are analyzed in this paper,and the applications of Oracle9i correlative techniques of XML in distance education are discussed also. For two types document datum (data-centric and document-centric),feasible storage schemes are analyzed and given.

Abstract:This paper discussed a new mapping method from XML Schema to the object-rela- tional database,its basic mapping rules and an approach based on DOM-chart model in details. The new DOM-chart model is defined according to the modification of the DOM Tree model.The primary mapping algorithm is simplified according to the new DOM-chart model.The experiment uses DBMS Oracle9i Release 2 database which supports SQL:1999 standard and object-oriented characteristics.It uses JAVA to implement the concrete algorithm.The experiment result shows that the theory and the design are feasible and effective,and that the mapping process preserves the structure as well as the semantic constraints of the source schema in the target schema.

Abstract:Nowadays, swirling around most businesses is not structure information but semi-structure information, such as spreadsheets, and documents created by an individual or company. However, in spite of success of data management of structure data by using databases, current enterprise information infrastructure is poorly suited for dealing with the continuing, rapid explosion of semi-structure data in enterprise. In this paper we discuss a system based on the integration between XML and RDB in a three- tiered framework, which undertakes research at the intersection of XML and RDB, exploits their strengths in a common framework, and expands their applicability in the area of semi-structure data management. Through a discussion of the fundamental architecture in general and its components in particular, we depict the basic principles that should form the basis for the design of the architecture based on the integration of XML and RDB. The key contribution of this paper is the framework for semi-structure data management, which is orchestrated through the transformation of representation, query and updating between XML data and RDB data.

Abstract:As an important medium for the description of product information and data exchange, XML(eXtensible Markup Language) is widely used in the network supported collaborative design. How to store and query XML data will directly affect the performance of collaborative design system. Compared the advantages and disadvantages of existing XML data storage technology, a new path-based XML data storage method using relational database is proposed. This paper gives the specific storage mapping algorithm. The different XML documents are stored using a fixed relationship model and not limited by the document DTD(Document type definition). The XML data stored using the method have unique advantages such as simple structure, small volume and easy to query processing. Good data processing is helpful for improving the efficiency of collaborative design system.

Abstract:Data in many industrial application systems are often neither completely structured nor unstructured. Consequently semi-structured data models such as XML have become popular as a lowest common denominator to manage such data. The problem is that although XML is adequate to represent the flexible portion of the data, it fails to exploit the highly structured portion of the data. XML normalization theory could be used to factor out the structured portion of the data at the schema level, however, queries written against the original schema no longer run on the normalized XML data. In this paper, we propose a new approach called eXtricate that stores XML documents in a space-efficient decomposed way while supporting efficient processing on the original queries. Our method exploits the fact that considerable amount of information is shared among similar XML documents, and by regarding each document as consisting of a shared framework and a small diff script, we can leverage the strengths of both the relational and XML data models at the same time to handle such data effectively. We prototyped our approach on top of DB2 9 pureXML (a commercial hybrid relational-XML DBMS). Our experiments validate the amount of redundancy in real e-catalog data and show the effectiveness of our method.

Abstract:With the explosion of XML (extensive Markup Language) technologies, there is a corresponding explosion of solutions for XML data management. The paper presents an efficient XML data model, and strategies for storing XML documents. The method is independent of the presence of XML document DTDs; schema of information is automatically available after the decomposition. The data model can reduce the data volume during querying. Experiments show that the approach has great advantage compared with traditional relational DBMS models.

Abstract:With the promotion and application of XML standards, an increasing number of organizations and institutions are using XML in their information management and data exchange. The classic problem of data management has emerged, namely, how to effectively store, retrieve, index, query and update the XML documents. This paper presents a native XML storage scheme seamlessly integrated with relational database, whose central idea is to take advantage of effective XML node numbering scheme to support XML data model over relational table. Firstly, this relational table of XML nodes is a non-destructive mapping of XML data model; Secondly, the storage scheme maximize the reuse of the underlying storage mechanism existing in relational database, which guarantees the transaction processing, log and recovery management, concurrent control of XML data. Using a variety of data sets, we conduct experiments on this scheme and previous XML storage schemes to compare the storage space, storage time and publication time between them. Experimental results show that our storage scheme is a high-performance XML storage scheme.
