Abstract:The preparation of hydrocarbon-based biodiesel from oils and fats by hydrodeoxygenation is of great practical significance and has a broad application prospect. In this study, the Ni3Fe1/HZSM-5 catalyst was subjected to several recycled experiments using stearic acid and methyl stearate as feedstocks, and the results showed rapid deactivation of the Ni3Fe1/HZSM-5 catalyst when fatty acids were used as feedstocks. A series of Ni3Fe1X/HZSM-5 catalysts with different additives were prepared by continuous impregnation, and the effect of different additives on the stability of Ni3Fe1/HZSM-5 catalysts was investigated. The Ni3Fe1Re/HZSM-5 catalysts with the additives of Re metal still had a high conversion of up to 100% and a 77.5% C18 selectivity in the eighth cycle, which was a noticeable enhancement in the stability of the catalysts as compared with the Ni3Fe1/HZSM-5 catalysts. This is because the Re metal addition forms a new Ni-Fe, Fe3Re2 alloy phase, which in turn prevents the accumulation of the active components and metal loss during catalyst use. This study provides a new solution for the preparation of catalysts with high activity, high C18 selectivity, and high stability.
