Abstract:We establish strong invariance principles for sums of stationary ρ-mixing random variables with finite and infinite second moments under weaker mixing rates.Some earlier results are improved.As applications,some results of the law of the iterated logarithm with finite and infinite variance are obtained,also a conjecture raised by Shao in 1993 is solved.

Abstract:For the sequence of ρ˜-mixing identically distributed random variables, we show two general strong laws of large numbers (SLLNs) in which the coefficient of sum and the weight are both general functions, and as a consequence we obtain the Marcinkiewicz SLLN. Finally, we get a Chung type SLLN for ρ˜-mixing random variables.

Abstract:Abstract We give here an almost sure central limit theorem for self-normalized partial sums of a strictly stationary φ-mixing sequences which is in the domain of attraction of the normal law with mean zero and possibly infinite variance. Our result substantially extend a result on the almost sure central limit theorem previously obtained by Huang and Pang (2010).

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some convergence properties, such as complete convergence, complete moment convergence, complete f-moment convergence and strong law of large numbers, for partial sums of randomly weighted sums of ρ-mixing sequences by using the moment inequality, which extend and improve the corresponding ones in the literature. As applications, we obtain the complete consistency for the randomly weighted estimator in a nonparametric regression models and the estimators for the unknown parameters in the simple linear errors-in-variables regression models based on ρ-mixing errors.

Let S n = X 1+⋯+X n and ${}^{{{\left( r \right)}}}S_{n} = S_{n} - {\left( {X^{{{\left( 1 \right)}}}_{n} + \cdots + X^{{{\left( r \right)}}}_{n} } \right)}.$Sufficient and necessary conditions for (r) S n approximating to sums of independent normal random variables are obtained. Via approximation results, the convergence rates of the strong law of large numbers for (r) S n are studied.

Abstract:In this paper we obtain weak laws of large numbers (WLLNs) for arrays of random variables under the uniform Cesàro-type condition. As corollary, we obtain the result of Hong and Oh [Hong, D. H., Oh, K. S., 1995. On the weak law of large numbers for arrays. Statist. Probab. Lett. 22, 55–57]. Furthermore, we obtain a WLLN for an Lp-mixingale array without the conditions that the mixingale is uniformly integrable and the Lp-mixingale numbers decay to zero at a special rate.

Abstract:Weak convergence of nonrandomly centered sums of independent random variables with a random number of summands is investigated under the assumption that the number of summands and the summands themselves are independent and the summands are uniformly asymptotically negligible.
