Abstract:An interesting approach to functionalized imidazolidines is described. These compounds are obtained in a copper(I)-catalyzed domino three-component coupling and cyclization reaction involving two formaldehyde-derived imine units and a terminal alkyne. Alternatively, imidazolidines can be obtained from propargylamines and formaldehyde-derived imines. This strategy provides a straightforward and atom-economic pathway to construct imidazolidines with high yields and benefits from readily available starting materials, convenient one-pot operations.

Abstract:Herein, we disclose a general and practical iminoarylation of alkenes by nickel-catalyzed reductive cross-coupling of unsaturated oxime esters with readily available aryl halides, providing an expedient approach for constructing pyrroline derivatives. The absence of organometallic reagents enables the reaction to occur under mild conditions with a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Moreover, other C-based electrophiles, including alkenyl, alkynyl and alkyl halides, or pseudohalides, were also competent substrates for this reaction.

Abstract:A novel and efficient reaction has been developed to synthesize a set of substituted 2-aminothiazoles from α-nitroepoxides and ammonium thiocyanate. Abstract:A one-pot eco-friendly oxidative N -α-C(sp 3 )– H bond functionalisation of arylmethylamines for the synthesis of tetrasubstituted imidazoles is demonstrated. The substrate scope of these amines has been well-explored with different substrates, such as 1,2-diketones, an α-hydroxy ketone and phenylacetophenone. In the presence of FeCl 3 catalyst and green oxidant O 2 , the easily accessible substrates afforded tetrasubstituted imidazoles in up to 94% yield. Abstract:Some imidazolone derivatives are biological and pharmaceutical active molecules and the chromophores of the fluorescent proteins. In this communication, a simple and efficient approach to 4-arylidene-2-alkyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-5-ones (2,4-disubstituted imidazolones) has been developed, and the protocol uses readily available 2-bromo-3-alkylacrylic acids and amidines as the starting materials without addition of any ligand or additive. The reactions were performed under mild conditions. Therefore, the present method will be of wide application in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

Abstract:The method for converting epoxy carbamates to oxazolidinones is outlined in this study. This innovative approach combines intermolecular nucleophilic epoxide ring opening with intramolecular acyl substitution in a single step, thereby facilitating rapid conversion. Significantly, this method effectively addresses challenges associated with the use of expensive reagents, harsh reaction conditions, and prolonged reaction times, presenting a more efficient alternative. Demonstrating favorable reactivity across a diverse range of aryl groups, as well as benzyl or tert‐butyl carbamates, the method consistently yields satisfactory results, with oxazolidinone formation ranging from 55% to 99% in over 24 examples. The synthesized oxazolidinones, including 5v–5x, hold substantial promise as intermediates for the synthesis of crucial synthetic molecules. Furthermore, the versatility of this method is underscored by its successful application in the formation of the 6‐membered ring 1,3‐oxazinan‐2‐one. These findings not only contribute to the advancement of synthetic methodologies but also pave the way for a streamlined synthesis of important pharmaceutical compounds.

Abstract:An unprecedented I2/FeCl3-promoted cascade reaction of aryl methyl ketones with 8-aminoquinolines for the convenient synthesis of (E)-3-(2-acyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-4-yl)acrylaldehydes was developed by merging annulation with ring deconstruction. This novel strategy unlocked the new reactivity of 8-aminoquinolines and provided an attractive platform for the ring opening of unactivated N-heteroaromatic compounds. Preliminary mechanistic investigation suggested that dual C(sp3)–H amination/C–N bond cleavage were key reaction steps.
