Abstract:A tandem reaction between N'-(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazide and cycloprop-2-ene-1,1-dicarboxylate co-catalyzed by silver triflate and tris(triphenylphosphine) rhodium chloride is reported. The reaction proceeds through 6-endo-cyclization, [3 + 2] cycloaddition, cyclopropane opening, and aromatization, leading to pyrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinolines in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:The reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with methylhydrazine in refluxing acetic acid generated 2-methyl-4-aryl-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles in good yields. The method was developed by the reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with phenylhydrazines in the presence of cupric ion, leading to 2,4-diary-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles. The structures were established on the basis of corresponding IR, 1H NMR, and elemental analysis data.

Abstract:An efficient tandem reaction of 2‐alkynylbenzaldoximes with isocyanides co‐catalyzed by silver triflate and bismuth triflate has been developed, which gives rise to the unexpected N ‐(isoquinolin‐1‐yl)formamides in good to excellent yields. The iodo‐ and bromo‐containing products could be obtained as well by variation of the reaction conditions.

Abstract:An effective and straightforward Ag(I)-mediated annulation of 2-(2-enynyl)quinolines and N'-(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazides was developed, forging various synthetically challenging 17bH-isoquinolino[2'',1'':1',6']pyridazino[4',5':3,4]pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinolines, including different nitrogen-containing fused rings, in moderate to excellent yields. This one-pot cycloaddition strategy features exclusive regioselectivity, high atom economy, and broad substrate scope under mild conditions. The practicality and reliability of this cycloaddition reaction was demonstrated by a successful scale-up synthesis.

Abstract:We reported copper-catalyzed the 1,4- or 1,6-conjugate additions of arylidenemalonitriles or para-quinone methides with 2-bromodifluoromethylbenzo-1,3-thiazole for the preparation of benzothiazolyldifluoroalkyl containing (di)arylmethine compounds in moderate to excellent yields, providing a facile route for the synthesis of gem-difluoroalkylatated (di)arylmethine compounds. The synthetic utility of the current method was also demonstrated by a gram-scale reaction.

Abstract:1-[(Trifluoromethyl)thio]isoquinolines can be assembled through silver(I)-catalyzed reaction of 2-alkynylbenzaldoxime with silver (trifluoromethyl)thiolate in the presence of p-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride. The (trifluoromethyl)thio moiety (SCF3) could be easily introduced into the scaffold of isoquinoline under mild conditions.

Abstract:One-pot syntheses of 1-benzyl-, 1-alkoxyl-, and 1-alkylamino- isoquinolines through automatic directing group (DGauto)-assisted, rhodium(III)-catalyzed aryl C-H activation and annulation with internal alkynes were developed. The reactions affording 1-benzylisoquinolines involve a cascade oximation of diarylacetylenes with hydroxylamine, forming aryl benzyl ketone oxime, and oxime-assisted rhodium(III)-catalyzed aryl C-H activation and followed annulation with another molecule of diarylacetylene in a one-pot manner. The formation of 1-alkoxyl/amino isoquinolines includes the addition of nucleophilic alcohols or amines to aryl nitriles, imine-assisted rhodium-catalyzed aryl C-H activation, and subsequent alkyne annulation.
