Abstract:An efficient tandem reaction of 2‐alkynylbenzaldoximes with isocyanides co‐catalyzed by silver triflate and bismuth triflate has been developed, which gives rise to the unexpected N ‐(isoquinolin‐1‐yl)formamides in good to excellent yields. The iodo‐ and bromo‐containing products could be obtained as well by variation of the reaction conditions.

Abstract:A tandem coupling-ketooxygenation reaction of readily accessible enediyne-carboxylic compounds with inner alkynes has been developed that utilizes the PdCl2/CuBr2 catalytic system under an O2 atmosphere and assembles a class of isoindolinones and o-acylbenzoic acids. The two oxygen atoms are regioselectively incorporated into enediyne units at the 1- and 6-positions from atmospheric molecular oxygen and H2O, respectively, during the present process. This study uncovered a formal [4C + 2C] benzannulation-diketonization of enediynes and alkynes via a coupling and decoupling strategy.

Abstract:Tandem reactions via electrocatalytic annulations have emerged as an effective strategy for the construction of heterocycles. Herein, a two‐component electrochemical annulation via sequential reduction, oxidation, and condensation steps to synthesize valuable benzimidazoles motifs is reported. This reaction, which utilizes electricity as both the oxidants and reductants, tolerates a broad range of functional groups. Detailed mechanistic studies including control experiments, cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis, and key reaction intermediate characterization, reveals an intermolecular electrochemical redox/cyclization pathway.

Abstract:An efficient approach for the generation of benzo[b] naphtho[2,3-d]-oxocin-6-ones through a palladium-catalyzed tandem reaction of 2-alkynylphenol with 2-(2-bromobenzylidene)cyclobutanone is described. This tandem process afforded the fused polycycles easily, with the formation of three bonds with high efficiency, starting from easily available materials. Good functional group tolerance as well as excellent selectivity was displayed.

Abstract:An effective and straightforward Ag(I)-mediated annulation of 2-(2-enynyl)quinolines and N'-(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazides was developed, forging various synthetically challenging 17bH-isoquinolino[2'',1'':1',6']pyridazino[4',5':3,4]pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinolines, including different nitrogen-containing fused rings, in moderate to excellent yields. This one-pot cycloaddition strategy features exclusive regioselectivity, high atom economy, and broad substrate scope under mild conditions. The practicality and reliability of this cycloaddition reaction was demonstrated by a successful scale-up synthesis.
